#lately I've been thinking about stories I read as a kid about big cats #specifically Leo the late boomer by Daniel Krause and this story about a cheetah whose name/author I can't remember #Leo is about a tiger who is obviously a late bloomer when it comes to speaking and making things #and his father is worried bc Leo isn't talking or writing or playing #eventually he figures it out and blooms #the story about the cheetah is a fable on how the cheetah became the fastest animal and spoiler alert: the cheetah also messes up a lot #they oversleep on the day that all the animals are getting their physical attributes #and so they end up with short abs plain fur and plain eyes and a baby voice #when the day comes to get speed they make sure they're first in line and become the fastest animal #tl;dr I feel like the world's biggest late bloomer #also that I was apparently asleep on the day that attraction and orientation and gender were being given out #I mean........I guess I got all manner of creative talents in exchange for not having a gender or an orientation or any romantic attraction #(by which I mean a concrete gender/orientation/level of attraction bc obviously only concrete things are real) #I should probably stop telling people I'm queer/should probably take my pronouns off tumblr #being as I'm in fucking no man's land for the conceivable future
