Depressing Grievous Headcanon: Rage against the machine

One of the core reasons Grievous has such a huge chip on his shoulder about the Jedi Order is because the way the Huk treated his people. Not that the Kaleesh were the most welcoming of people beforehand but they were extremely jaded by how the Republic pinned the Bitthaevrian conflict on them. Dooku had been involved in that so you already know he reported how savage the Kaleesh were, leading other civilizations to look down on them after the Republic had been the ones to ASK for their help. So Grievous was born into this culture that cultivated this high key resentment towards how his people were perceived by outsiders.

So the Huk showed up & were like "cool look at these bone lizards we can take advantage of, bitches can't even afford real blasters out here". Exactly the worst thing they could do to the Kaleesh was start selling them. As lesser people. The Huk were 100% unrepentant about their opinion of them as primitive. Even after Qymaen returned as Grievous & very efficiently started eradicating them from his planet. It had literally been his whole life that these bugs dehumanized (for lack of a better word) his people. As far as he was concerned the Huk had ample chance to de-escalate. They wanted savages, he delivered.

The Jedi issued to stop the Kaleesh from demolishing Yam'rii & their interests were SO sure they were doing the right thing from up on their moral high ground. They treated the Kaleesh so patronizingly that Dooku did not have to do a lot of convincing on the Jedi-hatred front. As a cyborg Grievous had these really fucked up complexes that clashed together & made him unstable & contrary af. His hatred of elitist flawed systems was channeled exclusively into hatred for the Republic but at the same time Grievous was absolutely better than you. This is also why he hates every fiber of Dooku's being & sees him as the worst person he has ever met by a wide margin.
