for example, he stutters through saying how he can be the alpha to hayden and mason, arguably people he should be way more confident around considering they’re his bff and gf, but then his first solo decision/act as acting alpha is deciding to bring theo back and he confidently sticks by it despite what others say. it’s also interesting that the others try to take control (send him back, or he’s going back) liam stays determined and theo even points out liam’s in charge when it comes to (2/

theos freedom (liam’s the one with the sword). there’s also the part where liam says he’s going into the hunt. scott and stiles (specifically stiles who says it in a way like he’s talking to a little kid) treat it like liam’s being ridiculous and don’t take it seriously (no no liam i think you’re confused. we’re trying ti get people out). when liam tells theo the same plan, he, after nearly dying trying to keep liam safe (i went through all this to keep you from being taken), defers to (3/

liam’s plan and doesn’t at any point treat jt like a joke depsite how ridiculous it seems. then again at the zoo where liam completely loses it (arguably proving the rest of the packs point that liam can’t take charge or responsibility and is like a child) theo, after having to safely drag them both out of there (while having to keep liam unconscious so he doesn’t almost reveal them again), only tells liam to pick a better location next time, implying he’d follow him again but liam needs (4/

to be more careful. then again int the finale, theo saves liam (again) and again even though he almost died the last two times he followed liams plan, he follows liams lead again even though of the two of them theo clearly is more out together. they’re whole relationship seems to be about trusting the other ti trust them (5/5)

And !!!! Yeahhh I feel like Liam’s intelligence gets super undercut exactly as you described. I feel like he sometimes gets like, the dumb little brother (affectionate) treatment, you know?? Which is fine when he’s being his silly “I fell in a hole😃” self but when it comes to pack decisions I’m sure that isn’t great for his confidence (esp knowing he has to step into the role of interim alpha and his judgment could be questioned)

But Theo’s just like, -o captain, my captain- And the only real pushback from him when it comes to Liam’s plans (that I can remember?? could be wrong tho) was when Liam suggested they hide from the GR in the morgue drawers. Which likely has nothing to do with thinking Liam’s plan is bad and entirely to do with the fact that, hello, he’d rather not revisit the morgue like. Ever again.
