Not arts sry but some personal thoughts about The Last Kingdom’s music and Eivør

Thinking about tlk and I feel like the whole OST is soooooo underrated! The works John Lunn and Eivør gave us deserve never-ending appreciation :) I actually stumbled upon the last kingdom only because:

1) after watching Vikings it has been on my Netflix recommendation for, uh, at least 3 years and btw I DONT KNOW WHY I DIDNT CHECK IT OUT EARLIER

2) I love historical Vikings and Old Norse culture in general

3) One day browsing Eivør’s Spotify profile and found out she took part in the soundtracks of the WHOLE show??? then I listened to the album and they’re insanely great??? Like I watched Vikings because they used Heilung’s music as one of their soundtracks so I was like, “now I can’t think of any single reason why not watching it huh”

I met Trøllabundin when I was in middle school and it. never. ever. fails to amaze me. Eivør did countless lives of this song and every version is their own masterpiece. Since then Nordic folk is a no turning back for me.

If there’s anyone who loves the soundtracks but hasn’t heard Eivør’s other works before- please also check them and I promise you won’t regret it!
