firestars quest chapter 3

my favourite trope in this series is big bad warriors who'll be like "no it's fine it doesnt even hurt" when theyve basically been gutted and then will be screaming and crying when they get a thorn in their paw like it's so fucking funny

also I find it weird that the erins felt the need to include a paragraph about why cinderpelt has a limp like if you've read this far then I'm pretty sure you've had that incident scarred into your brain forever

it would be even fucking weirder if they intended for this book to be able to be read standalone without the rest of the series because I feel like you're missing out on way too much context no matter how much they try to explain things

oh we're still playing the pity train with cinderpelt this far into the series huh. fuck off.

kinda sad that longtail's injury happened between arcs but I get it tbh you gotta have some things happen during a timeskip

I think windclan should have more rabbit related injuries tbh. esp apprentices who get overzealous and havent been trained how to handle rabbits yet

I'm...honestly baffled that they included a line where longtail asked what would happen to him if he went blind and couldn't be a warrior. like the clan is all about communal aid the thought that he wouldnt have a place in the clan shouldnt have even been questioned

it...mm. it's actually kind of interesting that cinderpelt doubts her abilities as a med cat but I think it would've been more interesting of they'd played it from the angle of "shes insecure because being a med cat wasnt her destiny" or something along those lines? Idk warriors could've been interesting if it had explored the ideas of fate and destiny

I feel like greystripe got like wildly OOC after he became deputy. what happened to his sense of humour and goofiness? I miss old greystripe

what the fuck happened to brambleclaw for that matter he used to be a goofy little shit too. just the goddamn sweetest

very boring that stormfur and feathertail are just carbon copies of their same sex parents

fucking Blackstar posturing in front of everyone. just admit you're insecure about the crimes you've committed and your position as leader and go

it never made sense to me why shadowclan would be hostile about outsiders when so many of them are outsiders as well. like they should be the most welcoming towards outsiders of all the clans imo

I wish they'd mentioned what happened to deadfoot like my man just up and disappeared huh

I know they wrote this after they wrote tnp but can you imagine if they hadn't and actually put some thought into foreshadowing??
