If Kingdom Hearts Characters had Digimon

((Hee ho doods, Prinnyfrost reporting for duty! You guys asked for it and I'm now here to deliver! Honestly, I thought I did this already and when I checked the archive I couldn't find one so fuck it. Here's Kingdom Hearts characters getting Digimon partners! As usual, whenever I cover Kingdom Hearts, I'll only look at characters originally introduced in the series, meaning no Disney/Final Fantasy/Marvel characters, though I might do a Final Fantasy 4/7 one later down the line. I already have something in mind for Sephiroth to go along with his Pichu. And as usual, duplicates will be kept to a minimum as much as possible.

Let's start off with the protagonist, Sora. Sora is actually one of those characters where pretty much any digimon would be fine for him given his talent for making friends with anyone he comes into contact with. Hell, considering the nature of Kingdom Hearts, you could give him and the rest of the cast more than one, but we're going to stick to just one to start off with. As much as I want to give Sora a Patamon for the Clavis Angemon digivolution line that I just recently found out after watching Karn EX's video on the same subject, who you should check out after reading this post, but I think Agumon would be a fine starter for Sora as it would complement his bravery (which would go well with unlocking different digivolutions like Agunimon), the fact that Tai's Agumon is also pretty good at making friends as shown when he's able to relax BlackWarGreymon when they first met despite being in its rookie stage, and of course to go with the partner that I'm giving Riku.

2. Which is of course going to be Gabumon. Come on, we both know Sora and Riku using DNA Digivolution to make Omnimon is too good to pass up. That being said, due to the events of Kingdom Hearts 1 and Chain of Memories, it will be a while before they reach that point. Due to Riku's time in the dark side, Gabumon's going to start down a dark digivolution route to Dobermon, Ceberurmon, and Plutomon. It won't be around Kingdom Hearts 2 where Gabumon will access its main digivolution route up to MetalGarurumon and with Riku's balance of light and dark, Gabumon will soon be able to tap into either Digivolution route depending on the situation needed.

3. Up next is Kairi, and yeah she's definitely getting a Gatomon with the Angewomon route. I honestly hate that I'm doing this because it's bad enough that her name is almost exactly the same as Kari's from the Digimon anime, but I can't think of any other Digimon that would suit her better, especially since she's a Princess of Light. And since I'm letting Sora and Riku have their Digimon access different Digivolutions, I think it's only fair I'd do the same for Kairi at least in terms of ultimate stages. MarineAngemon would be fitting to go along with Kairi's training under Aqua, Ophanimon would help in Kairi's role as a Princess of Light, Magnadramon would be great because fuck it, let's give her a dragon to ride on, but I think the most fitting of all given her personality and desire to actually get into some action would be LovelyAngewomon.

4. Now for those worried about Patamon with its ClavisAngemon digivoltion line not getting a partner, don't worry, because I will gladly give it to ya boi, Ventus. Not only is Ventus a completely pure hearted character after having his darkness literally ripped out of him, which is perfect for any angelic Digimon so Patamon getting Angemon and MagnaAngemon will still work here, but both Clavis Angemon and Ventus are wind users and Clavis Angemon's weapon "The Key" could be a reference to the "X-Blade" which was forged from the clash between him and Vanitas.

5. Speaking of Vanitas, you know what's the opposite of Patamon? Tsukaimon! How did Angemon die for the first time in the anime? He clashed with Devimon! Both Vanitas and Neo Devimon wear masks so that checks out too! And for the mega stage, we have DanDevimon as it is formed by assimilating mass amounts of negative data and unleashing it upon anyone that crosses it, which could potentially be a reference to how all the unversed actually spawn from Vanitas and his negative energy.

5. Up next is Aqua. At first I wanted to give Aqua a Lunamon since Lunamon is an easy choice for water specialists and that Lunamon's fear of lonliness could mesh well with Aqua's motherly nature, but I decided against it since I have someone else in mind who I think might be a better fit. Especially since it's doubtful that Master Eraquis would let Aqua have one after finding out it can use darkness in its later stages in its main line. Instead, I'm giving Aqua a Shakomon to start off with to compliment Aqua's craftiness. Its champion stage will be Ranamon as I think it would be fun to see try to act as mature and majestic as Aqua when it's in a good mood, but throws a fit when annoyed, forcing Aqua to try and calm it down. Finally, the ultimate and mega stages will be Mermaimon and AncientMermaimon to keep with the sexy water lady theme.

6. Now here comes Terra. As much as I want to keep the earth element theme with him, unfortunately, we all know he needs a Digimon with a dark digivolution route. I think Dorumon would be the best bet in this regard as its dark evolution route are the DexDourugamon stages which I can see as Terra thinking Dorumon getting stronger this way is a good thing but is failing to realize that the two of them are drifting further and further into the dark side due to Xehanort's manipulation. That and at least Dorumon is a metal user which one could argue is a part of the earth element, especially any Avatar fans reading this.

7. Now for my favorite character in the series, Axel (or Lea as he prefers to be called now). Considering his fire element and his relationship with Saix, I think it's only fitting to give him a Coronamon with its main digivolution route to Apollomon. I can see Coronamon trying his best to keep Axel upbeat and energized while on missions but will slowly try to convince him to turn against the organization after realizing that they're actually fighting with the bad guys. Telling him that he should stick with his friends and do what feels right, that sort of thing.

8. Meaning Saix/Isa gets Lunamon with its main digivolution line to Dianamon. I think Saix is actually more fitting with Lunamon than Aqua not only because of his dynamic with Axel, but also because he is at least somewhat associated with the moon given his berserker mode. Not only that, but Saix and Lunamon could probably relate to each other's envy over Axel and Coronamon hanging out with other people. Remember, Lunamon does not like being lonely and seeing Coronamon mingle with other people, thus spending less time with it, could spark some negative emotions. And for those thinking that Saix would abuse Lunamon, the Kingdom Hearts manga has pointed out that he had a pet before so I kinda doubt that.

9. My first thought was to give Roxas a Clear Agumon to symbolize the fact that he's Sora's nobody, and give him the GeoGreymon line, but I found out that surprisingly, Clear Agumon doesn't evolve into GeoGreymon. So...Toy Agumon? Nah. While Roxas is curious, he's not exactly the most playful person in the series outside of his time with Hayner, Pence, and Olette and that was during a simulation. And since I gave Tsukaimon to compliment Ventus's Palmon...how about a BlackAgumon with a BlackWarGreymon route? After all, BlackWarGreymon isn't really evil. In a way, it's personality is similar to the anime version of Mewtwo's. It's a bit philosophical about the meaning of its life being a clone, though can get aggressive, especially when someone tries to force them on a set path. Actually, that perfectly fits Roxas now that I think about it while typing this up.

10. On the other hand, Xion would be a pretty decent fit for Toy Agumon. After all, Xion herself is created using Sora's memories (though mainly the ones he has with Kairi) and Xion is sweet and a bit playful once you befriend her, which fits well with how Toy Agumon are usually shy, yet enjoy playing with kids and will protect their companions. As for the digivolution route, considering her final boss battle at the end of 358/2 Days, I think it would be fitting to give her the GeoGreymon line, which will help reference her and Roxas's connection with Sora.

11. Normally I go with 10 characters at a time when it comes to these topics, but I refuse to end things without bringing up Namine. Since I gave Roxas a BlackAgumon, it only makes sense to give Namine, who is KAIRI'S NOBODY...a BlackGatomon. I can see BlackGatomon having a bit of a teasing Tsun relationship with Namine, poking fun at how Namine spends her time all cooped up by herself in a castle wanting to make friends but is gutless to try to break free from her captors. Deep down, BlackGatomon's actual goal is to help Namine grow more of a backbone and stand up for herself, take some risks, ect. Its main digivolution line to Lilithmon should work, but I can see BlackGatomon occasionally turn into Kuzuhamon whenever she wants to talk about/help Namine with her art and controlling memories.

Trying to make up transforming figures in my head that don't exist for certain characters and getting pissed the next morning because I don't have them. Only thing stopping me is lack of access to a resin printer.

I am Mox/Moxter and have been a bot nerd since I was an anklebiter. Mostly gung-ho about other stuff like practical effects, costuming, figures/models, 3D modelling, old tech, lizards, and birding. What's tower of fantasy?

Tower of Fantasy is a Chinese MMORPG Open world game created by Perfect World CO (I think, don't 100% quote me on that) that's been in development for some time now that was recently released to the global servers. This game was advertised to be a "Genshin Killer" and a lot of Genshin Haters/Antis latched onto the idea of toppling over the empire that Genshin has created for itself, ala where my personal disdain comes from (To those of you unaware, I have a.... personality quirk that if a piece of media is used to hate on something I actively enjoy, I start to hate that media, and can and will nitpick it apart which is why I tend to avoid media that falls in this category for me. Ala why I still have not read (and probably never will read) I'll Trade My Life For Yours.)

The game itself is a buggy, janky mess that looks like it's still in alpha/beta phases of development. The art style is inconsistent between the over world and characters (Some areas look fine but others look way out of place), the physics for some hair styles makes me want to gag, and the animations can vary wildly in quality. This is a company with a huge monopoly in China (from the research I've done at least) so these quality issues are inexcusable. At this point, they may never fix it either, as they've released their game to the globe and now will focus primarily on making money and updates than fixing past areas and bugs. The only major bug they fixed was an infinite pulls bug where if you disconnected your wifi, you could get an item but keep your pulls. When they sent out compensation with free pulls, the bug was present there and people have used that to infinitely pull on characters and get everything decked out, leaving people who where honest and didn't use the glitch in the dust.

The reason why I suspect the animations vary so much in quality is because a good chunk of their assets were originally plagiarized. ToF used a Honkai Impact 3rd Asset (A sword) in one of their Promotional videos (though the sword has since been removed and they've deleted the original PV for obvious reasons, but here is a screenshot of it here) and apparently an asset (Described here), stole an insignia from Rainbow Six (I cannot read chinese but here is a link comparing the two icons/insignias) and plagiarizing/heavily referencing an animator's work here, discussed in chinese here, (though the videos shown should be proof enough, and this is a small time animator against a big corporation mind you) and have used animations from Genshin Impact for their character animations, though these animations do have some differences and I can't tell if they were just, heavily referenced or flat out stolen, so keep that in mind.

They've also, for some god forsaken reason, just. Flat out used Venti in one of their ads. I reverse image searched the Venti drawing because I knew it didn't look like official art, and it looks like the Ad came from this youtube channel. Since the screen shot shows that it's an Ad rather than like, them mistakenly thinking they were watching an ad but actually watching his videos, they either: A, took his review of ToF and used it as an Ad with permission, or B: Stole his review of ToF to use as an ad. Either way, the use of this Venti icon makes me think it was the latter, because ToF has been trying to get the words "Genshin Impact" out of people's mouths in favor of their own game. If they had asked for permission, I'd assume they would have asked the YTer to send them a copy of the video without this Venti icon in the corner.

Regardless, I've just left a comment on the YTer's video in question asking if they had been aware of this Ad, but I'll update this post on the situation concerning this youtuber later on if/when he does respond.

They also botted their app reviews to make the game look good by stealing Genshin reviews and changing the names around. The reviews in the screenshot in the thread are translated, and the English translation is a bit funky, but I think maybe Yomiya's name seems to translate to "Night Palace", which is backed up by this Behindthename page on the name. Since that is consistent, I think the translator in the Reddit thread can be at least somewhat trusted on this front.

Another point of contention, though this is probably just a thing all developers of products do, is that Tower of Fantasy Sponsorships seem to be strangely targeted at Genshin Impact Content Creators. I've seen a TON of Tower of Fantasy Sponsorship reviews, and of course, there is no mention of Genshin or glaring negative aspects that the game devs are surely making the CCs hide with their contract.

Most horrifyingly, however, is the supposed selling/distribution of IDs of dead or missing individuals to allow global players access to the game to spread global hype.

For clarification, in China, in order to play a game like Genshin Impact or Tower of Fantasy, a majority of people need to use their ID, which is like... the equivalent of a Social Security Number here in the States. You cannot access Genshin or ToF's Chinese servers without these IDs (though apparently you can technically access the mobile port via a bilibili account, but I'm not sure how that works)

So naturally, it's apparently an unfortunately common thing for non-chinese users to buy these fake/dead/missing person's IDs to access the games early. However, what is concerning is the claims that the ToF devs were actively selling this information/the IDs or just, freely giving them out to global players. Here's another video from December of 2021 discussing this, and it's really telling that Tower of Fantasy stated that they had "No plans for a Global Server" and yet here we are, with a global server. Perhaps they changed their minds after the fact, but there's a lot of other damning evidence on the subject to prove that they were involved with the distribution of these fake IDs.

This is some speculation drifting about that there may be a racist element to things as well, and while you can customize your personal protagonist to be of any skin tone you desire, it seems that so far none of the pre-established characters are of color--and, in fact, there are enemies that ARE black and white with dreadlocks (a signature style of bi/poc). I'm not going to discuss this issue further as I have no verification of this and I am as pale as snow, but I thought it would be worth mentioning this testimony. I have not played the game myself, mind you, so this is a testimonial account and I cannot confirm or deny as I have not played the game myself. If there is actual evidence of this claim I will edit this post and put it here.

Another thing I want to point out is that the game has only been described to me, personally, as a "Genshin Killer." This is something to note, though as it is my personal experience to take with a grain of salt, that there isn't much to promote about the game that makes it stand out. The character creator is cool, but that's the only thing I've heard that ToF is bringing to the table and there are plenty of games who let you customize your character as it is.

Regardless of if you choose to play the game for yourselves or not, I urge you to do your own research and come to your own conclusions, and move forward with the game at your own comfort.

SMALL EDIT: I’ve seen people try to excuse Tower of Fantasy’s Plagiarism by insisting Genshin did it first--I’m assuming with BOTW--and I wanted to talk about that here.

1. It doesn’t make it right to copy the action if the action is poor. Someone stealing art and assets is never okay, no matter if someone else did it first. Tower of Fantasy doesn’t get a pass just because “Genshin did it first.”

2. If you are referring to Genshin Impact’s development team being heavily inspired by Breath of the Wild, I’m sorry but inspiration is not the same thing as blatant asset theft. They’ve also stated that Breath of the Wild was one of their main sources of inspirations for Genshin Impact, so it’s no secret the game was based off of BOTW + Nintendo, who is typically viciously protective of their IP, is allowing Genshin to get a Switch Port (Or at least it was presented on the table at some point, which I don’t think Nintendo would like if it was direct competition to their IP without some compensation), unlike ToF who is trying to push the plagiarism claims onto other companies they supposedly outsourced to.

I’m sure Hoyoverse has done some awful, terrible things themselves (Companies are not your friends, they are not gentle or kind) but that does not excuse some other company for doing it as well.

I'm not okay with my body image right now because I have to pack for Disney and the weather is warmer than I expected so I can't just hide in a big hoodie and I wanted to look cute but I just don't think I'll look cute or nice or anything other than a big fat blob of awful and I really don't want to ruin this with a fucking breakdown about how fat I am and how none of my clothes fit.

and the worst thing is I have no one but S to talk to this about. I have no girl friends I can't just pop up and say I feel like crap hype me up and help me find something fun to wear. I've never understood those scenes in coming of age films where the girls are all sat around in one room trying on each others clothes and doing each others hair. I never got that. I've never had anyone like that. I've never had a best friend that way. I've never even had a friend that way. not for 15 years.

half my life. half my fucking life I've not had friends to confind it and talk about this with and work through the trauma of societies expectations with. half my life. the half where it's mattered. no one cares as a kid. a little kid. but man as soon as you're aware of what this fucking world has its eyes on and what it deems is good and right and everything is it banishes as wrongs it's just traumatic trying to do anything else with that .

so today I get on a plane for the first time ever and no matter how much I try I can't freak myself out about it which is good I guess. everything will be fine and it'll be so much fun and such a delight ✨

I'm sat in an airport waiting for a plane to arrive. it's ten minutes late which is wild but hey ho.

security was stressful and wild but nevermind I got through with only one misshap which for my first time isn't too bad.

getting random pain in my left toes though and knees hurt occasionally, and a slight headache which I blame on stress and stimulation.

idk why but mornings were not good for me. next time we go away like that I need to prepare for mornings better.

yesterday I felt quite bad, waves of sickness if I stood for too long, sharp pains in my stomach and guts. felt better if I sat for a while. didn't feel good enough to eat so I had a small yogurt, a few mouthfuls of lunch (cauliflower and pork mostly) and an apple when I got home. not lots of water either but I just didn't feel good. also got to experience a wheelchair for the first time ever, useful but not hugely.

feel a little icky today still but I'll try and eat nice plain foods here and see how it goes. Sam is out to work all afternoon so if I end up sitting in the bathroom then that's what happenes.

I was very snotty yesterday, and a bit coughy and had several long sneezing fits. I took some meds and went to work and it seemed to clear up. wondering if there's some dust or mould or something that affects me in my studio room. but it's so small and compact I don't really know how to go about changing that, since I have so much stuff. and things in this house get mouldy even in the warmer months let alone over winter when it's damp. oh to have central heating.

I run an OPEN Arpg. You can make as many characters as you want to join, given they follow the guidelines. It's also stupidly easy to buy trait upgrades in the shop (once school ends I can finish the Shop updates and re-release it for Player use.)

For you & WS Anon- do you ever hear of any other movies having the same drama/set backs like DWD is rumored to be. Not even about HO getting together onset while she was still with J but with the editor quitting, the push backs of the release, no trailer, no release date even, doubled budget, etc.

Every DCEU film ever is muddled with the same problems and even more publicized. But then again these films are more relevant than DWD so their problems will be more known.

I think my lack of attraction for this man has prevented me from ever asking this question. I do know one of my friends claims (I can never verify this claim but she does work with models) one of her friends is one of Harry's regular hookups and says he's just ok. But they said he's nice though but doesn't really share anything too personal. Again I can never verify their claim cause our friends kept asking for the name but she never tells us who. I'm sure he has a lot of people he hooks up with but that seems to be my closest connection to that part of his life.

Other people already answered this question perfectly. There is that obvious harrie among the mods though, it was clear when there was a perfectly mild conversation about Harry that didn't break any rules. A release date probably. At least with that this film will look like it's heading towards a direction.

Jessie answered perfectly. I guess if you look at the careers of Leo, Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Angelina Jolie, Sandra Bullock, Chris Evans, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Reynolds to name a few you could tell their pr gave them a certain image that went well with them, alongside choosing roles that either further elevated their fame or showed their talent. You don't even have to be an incredible talent in my opinion. The likes of Ryan Reynolds and Channing Tatum imo aren't incredible actors, but they got that break, won over people, had roles or did things that made them even more relevant. Another scale are the likes of Matthew McConaughey and Bradley Cooper who were known for pretty bad romcoms and for awhile studios didn't take them as serious actors, and then had that break commercially and critically that showed they're competent actors and pretty much put them on the list of best working actors today.

For Olivia I would say her break into mainstream fame was House and she tried to go big but the films that were supposed to propel her like Tron or Cowboys vs Aliens failed. Despite the fact she's a pretty recognizable face here, you don't really have an image of her or her personality nor has she done anything that memorable (until this year) that propelled her star.

In terms of Grimes, I want to say save her cause I think she’s an amazing artist but then I look at the big picture and I think she’s an enemy lol. We need to talk about Azealia Banks involvement in their relationship though
