MY KOS FORBIDDEN TOPIC
It may sound idiot, but believe me, it’s very, VERY hard to me to write this post, I usually try to avoid talking about it because I am literally Ninapovsinkosphobic.
She once was my favourite character and she has become the reason why I dropped a book and I had to ask someone else to tell me what happens later, because I felt too sick reading.
I want to explain once for all why I could never support Hannina. This post is not made to persuade people to agree with me, it’s just an explanation of my own, very personal point of view.
Just to clarify first: no, I don’t hate Hannina because Helnik is my OTP. As I often said, I would be totally favorable to Ninej.
So, what’s the problem?
Yes, I admit, at first, I thought I hated Hanne.
Tall, Fjerdan, Brum’s daughter who needs to be taught that Grisha are human beings and not monsters. At first I was like: “Seriously, Bardugo? Where did I read about a similar dynamic before? Oh, WAIT!”
Yes, I hated her, at first.
But then, I figured a different situation in my mind: I erased Nina from the story. I imagined Adrik and Leoni meeting this girl, a young Grisha who’s the daughter of a monster and lives in a country where people like her are hated and discriminated. They decide to help her and then she helps them back. I actually liked the story and I said “This character isn’t bad, she actually has potential!”
And so I realized: the problem in the relationship isnt Hanne. It’s Nina.
Nina has lost Matthias months before. She is definitely not over it. She is not ready for a new relationship and she demonstrated it in many ways (don’t make me think about THAT thing because I may vomit).
And, to be honest, I have the impression Nina is using Hanne in the book, projecting on her the plans and the dreams she had with Matthias. And this is not good.
If I were Hanne, I would constantly ask myself: “Is she with me because she likes me or is she using me as a replacement?”
Yes, Nina is desperate and very, very young. But what she’s doing is still not fair for Hanne, Adrik and Leoni.
Going back to Hanne, I think this relationship doesn’t allow her to shine as a character. I too often had the impression she has been thrown into the plot just to be Nina’s new love interest.
And, sorry if I sound insensitive, but she has enough problems on her own (she’s developing a new way of thinking about herself, about Grisha and about her shitty father), the last thing she needs is to run after a desperate girl who is still grieving her murdered boyfriend.
I’m not meaning Nina should be left alone, she obviously needs help, but I don’t think a romantic relationship with Hanne is the solution to her grief. I think her and Hanne need each other as friends, more than lovers, especially in this moment of the story.
I have a preference for wlw romance, but that doesn’t mean I’m able to accept everything.
As a conclusion, I would also like to explain why I am totally favorable to Ninej instead.
Since Bardugo (hates Matthias and his fans) will never bring Matthias back, Inej is the only person I can see Nina with, now.
Apart from the amazing, beautiful relationship they share, Inej has a great skill: she is able to help people and be supportive keeping things healthy for BOTH herself and the other person.
Inej would never zero herself for another person, it doesn’t matter how much she love them, she knows the limits she can reach without surpassing them.
So, these are my thoughts: in my ideal world, Hanne shares a beautiful friendship with Nina and finds another girlfriend, while about Nina… well, if I can’t have my Helnik back, then I’ll cheer forever for beautiful Ninej.
Here my explanation. I don’t want to argue with anyone, as I said, those are just MY PERSONAL thoughts, I don’t want to persuade anyone and I don’t need to enter a discussion, also because I won’t change my mind. I just wanted to make clear why I am totally unable to support this couple.
It had been very hard to me talking about this once, please, don't make me explore this topic again.

Oh my GOD anyone with half a brain could have told them that doing crows and tgt parallelly was a bad idea. The only reason it sort of worked in s1 is because they made up a story for the crows that intersected with the tgt characters. SoC and CK don't overlap with tgt in any way and doing it together in the show makes absolutely no sense.
I guess the reason they did is because the crows have a bigger Fandom than tgt and they wanted the eyeballs. I get that book 2 and 3 of tgt are essentially the same thing on loop but I don't think answer is the crows doing heists on the side. Even tonally the 2 stories are very different, like if I had to picture it I'd imagine the crows duology being shot very differently with v different music etc.
And killing the one character that's interesting in s1 so soon is... dumb to say the least. They have literally been promoting that entire show using his character.
As for lb writing luda... I think she should just let this world rest. Not that I'm going to read her stuff anymore but yeah.
I knew that Crows were bad idea since the very second they appeared in the show. The bloody tonal swift is a little too obvious. Their involvement in the damn thing also affected the TGT characters for the worse. Why instead of wasting time on them didn't they fix the fucking protagonist? Alina is still a damn sack of flour! Aleksander still overwhelms her as a character because he is still the only main that moves the damn plot.
Also, it's hilarious because the ratings are not bigger. They think that because the Crows have a bigger fanbase, then what? People are also gonna watch for them? Fandoms are not that big, they are certainly not billions of people needed for a good rating. Most of the general audience goes there expecting magic, not criminals doing heists.
All the time wasted on the crows could have been filled to show more of her journey? Showing her discovering his secret by herself instead literally being thrown in the plot by Baghra just like in the books?
One way of doing this like a rational person would be greying the plot of TGT and throw those stupid McGuffin hunts out of the window. Make the West Ravka conflict greater, making the other countries a bigger threat and maybe redeem the Darkling... But that would be thinking as someone who wants to make money. Eric clearly doesn't think of that if he is listening this ridiculous woman and is willing to kill his bigger cash cow just because Bardugo wants the supposed popularity of the Crows to overwhelm the stupidity of how the Darkling is killed before more people see her trash, underwhelming ending as the ridiculous thing as it is.
Just change the damn storyline. Since fucking when American television productions are so fucking concerned to keep things faithful to the books?
And about Luda, yeah, I really want it to be just a rumour because I don't trust LB writing women close to Aleksander. I just don't.
