Mikey, how much did it hurt watching Baji walk away from the gang he was responsible for creating? Did you ever question if he truly meant what he said saying he was an enemy of Toman after being so loyal to you since you two were little?
There was a simple fact he’d come to learn: things were simply here one day and gone the next , people included. Especially people , perhaps. — and that sight of Baji walking away , he never thought it would end like this. There’s so much he can say , some imploring  — you used to tell me everything ; some far more cruel , something that he is afraid to say  — he killed Shinichiro , and you’re still choosing him over me. — but he says neither this or that , and he watches him leave , too ensnared by what it means to be a leader , and what it means to be a friend.
To be Baji’s enemy  — what does it mean ?
It can’t be defined by the throw of a punch ; they’ve done that a million times and more. Perhaps it is that sinking feeling that he felt that night , watching Kazutora and Baji lit aglow by police sirens , haunted looks on their face. — Or maybe it is the white of the sheet placed over Shinichiro as if he were asleep , and nothing more. Maybe it’s all of that and more , but he can’t understand what it means to be Baji’s enemy.
— and he thinks he understand Baji , but maybe he’s been wrong this entire time. Maybe he’s done something again , something that can’t be taken back , or maybe it’s just like that: people leave no matter how much you love them. So maybe it’s true , Baji is Toman’s enemy , but that doesn’t mean anything.
Enemies one day. Friends the next , and back again. No matter what it means , Mikey will bring him home.
