Penpal anon- this time it’s about Aurelie: you mentioned her writing about her brother and now I’m picturing her and the mc talking about their brothers and by extension what they think about them. In year five, there could be a letter from Aurelie about how Penny stopped writing to her all of a sudden and is anything wrong?? And in the scene where Penny brews that one potion the mc could mention that Aurelie asked about her.
That would be pretty neat. Especially since I envision this whole pen-pal idea as being not unlike the Friend Leveling minigames, and I do think that functionally, it would have to be. Or at least, that’s what Jam City would wind up doing. Hell, just imagine for a second if, rather than give us that weird and stupid studying thing, they had MC go to the Library to write a letter to their penpal? I’m not sure how it would work exactly, it probably wouldn’t have the character sprite show up in person. Maybe have someone turn up to read the letter aloud and help MC write the response? We all know it would probably be Penny, but one idea that I think is pretty cool would be if it was a different character for every penpal. For Aurelie, it could be Penny! Reading off fun facts about Aurelie’s brother and listening to MC list off neat facts about Jacob. Plus it would be a good opportunity to work in that whole storyline about Aurelie and Penny!

Penpal anon- the ability to have mcs interact sounds interesting! And I love the idea of the letters being connected to the story. For players with Alanza as a penpal, her writing about how excited she is to be an exchange student and how she can’t wait to meet all of mc’s friends. I mean it would definitely be a case of harsher in hindsight considering what happens in year six. Also her letters could mention Rakepick since they knew each other well.
For real, I think it would be cool and a neat way of overlapping the HPHM Multiverse, which is practically canon at this point as Jam City have outright stated that Quidditch is basically an in-game AU. I wonder how it would work. I mean it’s funny, because I actually strongly dislike MMOs, at least personally. I always wish I could shut off the online feature of SW:TOR when I play that game. Either way, I think it could be cool if the different pen pals were connected to the story in say, different years. Alanza for Year 6, of course. Durmstrang and Ilvermorny could be Years 3 and 4, perhaps. Aurelie’s story most likely connecting to Penny would mean that Year 5 is probably a good place to place it, especially if it calls her out on the less than awesome way she treated Penny. @the-faywood-anon knows what I’m talking about.
