ahh was Val commenting during the movie watch? I hope he’s doing alright since I feel we haven’t seen him in person much this year outside of that one pic he posted of himself with the billboard for his documentary. i was concerned when he didn’t show up to the premiere for the doc and mercedes mentioned his recovery being brutal 😔
He was on and off in the chat!! He did respond to a few questions and had some comments as well! He was overall just thanking everyone and I got the feeling it was one of those very grateful moments for him that may have been a little overwhelming.
I truly do wish he'd understand how much we love and adore him regardless of his current health/appearance. From the docu you can really tell it's a huge insecurity for him and that makes me sad because I love him today just as much as I loved him the first time I saw Top Gun back in 1989.
SIGH but yes! Also during the opening sequence, there was a shot of him coming into HelMel Studios, but I'm not sure if it was live or pre-recorded/from another time, but his hair was short and he looked to be in good spirits! Recovery can be no joke, and I say this as I myself am currently recovering from surgery only yesterday. But with something so destructive as he had, he's doing amazing and I hope he knows that he has his fans' support and love forever and always!

Val Kilmer looks bright as he hosts Tamie Adaya's GLAM Art Exhibition at his HelMel studio | Daily Mail Online
Tumblr media
He is a talented actor who rocketed to fame with Tom Cruise in Top Gun in 1986.
But few people know that Val Kilmer is also a prolific artist with his own studio.
And on Friday evening the 59-year-old hosted Tamie Adaya's GLAM Art Exhibition at his HelMel studio in the Silverlake district of Los Angeles.
Getting into art: Val Kilmer hosted Tamie Adaya's GLAM Art Exhibition at his HelMel studio in the Silverlake district of Los Angeles on Friday evening
Named for its location on the corner of Heliotrope and Melrose, the website described the GLAM series as 'love letters to a more flamboyant and celebratory period of music and fashion that Tamie feels is missing from this more austere and conservative moment.
'It draws inspiration from the Pop artists of the 1960s, the Neo Pop and conceptual language artists of the 1980s and the wildly camp, eyeliner-and-lipstick glitter style of glam musicians on both sides of the Atlantic.'
Val posed with Tamie on the red carpet in a black jacket and pants that he teamed with a brightly checked shirt in shades of red, yellow, orange and blue, with a turquoise scarf around his neck. The silver fox brushed his hair back from his face.
Colorful couple: Val. 59. posed with Tamie on the red carpet in a black jacket and pants that he teamed with a brightly checked shirt while the artist donned a sparkly jacket
Joining the fun: Actor, writer and producer Brad Koepenick smiled with Val and Tamis
Hat's the way to do it: British actor Misha Crosby, 32, donned a nifty titfer for the evening
Tami was decked out in a black scoop-neck T-shirt and leggings with a sparkly blue, pink and green jacket, leather boots and heavy chaines around her neck and waist.
A slew of celebs and artists dropped into the event including veteran actress Britt Ekland, 77, who posed with Tamie plus Doris Tyler and journalist Argot Murelius.
Lady Victoria Hervey. 43.  made a splash in a one shoulder, silver mini-dress with black over-the knee boots.  Actor-producer Misha Crosby, 32,  cuddled up  to Tamie.
Blondes have more fun: Lady Victoria Hervey. 43. made a splash in a one shoulder, silver mini-dress and she was joined by Stacie Gates in a blue and silver frock
Lovely ladies: From left, Doris Tyler, Britt Eklund, 77, Tamie and journalist Argot Murelius
Casual style: Celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Jason Champagne donned a leather jacket
They were joined by movie art director/actor Neil D'Monte, 43; Stacie Gates; actor Nathan Kehn, 30; actor, writer producer Brad Koepenick and celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Jason Champagne among many others.
Meanwhile, Val has made limited public appearances for the past few years as he underwent treatment for throat cancer. A procedure on his trachea had reduced his voice to a rasp and made him short of breath.
Despite that, the  star has a busy screen career. He can next be seen in Jay And Silent Bob Reboot, due out on November 29.
Laid-back look: Actor Nathan Kehn, 30, opted for dark red pants and a black shirt and shoes
Monochrome mister: Art director and actor Neil D'Monte, 43, donned a black and white look
He is due to reprise his role as navy fighter pilot Iceman opposite Tom in Top Gun: Maverick, due out on June 26.
And he has The Birthday Cake with Ewan McGregor; Soldier's Heart and Riptide in various stages of production.
Val will also be releasing his memoir, I'm Your Huckleberry,  in April.
The Iceman: Val co-starred with Tom Cruise in  Top Gun in 1986. Now both actors will reprise their roles for Top Gun: Maverick, due out on June 26
