A belated BD post 🎂 Click "read more" for some Haya WIPs through the years!

It's been 3 years already since the day when I drew my girl for the first time, on 21th June 2020. And in all that time, she was my drive to keep on drawing... even if that didn't actually result in that many finished pieces!

In the past, I used to be very down about not managing to draw out & share her lore, such as her shikai, bankai, sword spirit, family, etc. But nowadays I came to realize it's alright - that having all the information in my head is more than enough, and putting any of it on paper will just be a bonus.

Also I wanted to thank everyone who ever enjoyed & supported my AU in those years, it truly means the whole world to me!

Happy belated Mother’s Day! 💛 Mama!Haya with all of her kids. Click “read more” for information about each kid’s personality and interests.

Additional information:

- each kid is wearing their fav colour (Haya herself can't really choose just one). - Takafumi starts to grow out his hair at 13 & it gets to around his chest level at 15/16. - re: the "hair length fluctuates" note on small Akiharu... you guessed it, it's bc of that pesky bubblegum & other hair accidents he keeps having as a kid. Even so, he will grow it out as a teen, to match his older brother. - you might wonder why does Mai have brown hair & Akiharu has yellow eyes. For Mai, she gets the hair colour after Haya's father; and Aki gets his eye tone after Haya's mother.

Mika by @trii_luartz 💜 Plus a silly comic!  For Women's Day, I wanted to draw a lady that I didn't draw before, so here's the gorgeous ex-Espada OC by @trii_luartz. As for the comic - yeah, yeah, it's a bit contrived (Haya could have said "horse skull"), but it's just for fun. Plus I wanted to draw my trio on a lunch break, somehow it always makes me so happy to draw them eating. Ah, and Rose was standing up for fellow people with elongated features, not for himself; bc I like to think he never had any complexes about his face shape.

Open collab with @wizpeppy 🌼 it took me an eternity to finish, but it's done now - my first ever entry to an open collab!

Also while Haya always is, and always will be conscious about the availability of food (and of money), those feelings are retriggered in a stronger fashion whenever she has to go back to far Rukongai, hence her impulsive plea here. In daily life, if she gets gifted a bigger amount of food, she'll always share with others. And if she goes out with friends to eat and someone else offers to pay, she'll take the cheapest dish even if she knows the person paying has enough money. She just can't bring herself to do otherwise, so if you wanna treat her - you gotta trick her!

She also has a very skewed sense of luxury when it comes to food; a simple tonkatsu is something fancy for her. Honestly, anything other than a handful of rice is. One has to be specific when wanting her to cook something more unusual, or else you get a standard dish with a slice of lemon on top.

Haya in the new opening. Given that she's still wasting away in Rukongai during the entirety of the Quincy War and doesn't meet any of the canon characters yet, it was a no-brainer that she'd be a street beggar in a totally separate scene, all alone. Thanks to that, I got to practice backgrounds a bit (and didn't have to worry about matching the official style *taps forehead*).

I once again forgot that my tablet makes the colors seem deeper than they really are, so the bg tones are much lighter than I planned, but that's ok.

The first song Haya ever heard 🎶

Just a little picture of her right after being born (in Rukongai). I wanted to focus on the baby, so her mom is not really visible , but you can at least tell that Haya got her pale skin tone from her. But I do have her parents fully designed and hope to draw them one day! I also have their love story thought out.

3rd squad enters the fight ✨️ Haya with Minori by @gardenyomi__   With this, I wanted to finally say THANK YOU to Gardenyomi for being SO very generous and having drawn Haya with Minori multiple times already! I'm beyond humbled and grateful, thank you again with all my heart!! 💜

I ended up exposing Haya's chest more than usually so that she can sort of match with her squad colleague lol. Hence the small bonus to explain it away. Also the kido spells are entirely made-up.

Happy BD! 🎂 I finally finished, and although there are mistakes (ex. the cake should definitely be bigger on the 1st pic), it's alright. I chose her BD simply based on the date of the day when I first drew her. So it's a coincidence that it's also the beginning of summer, but surely a nice one ☀️ The chat between Rose & Haya is supposed to showcase their obliviousness to their own feelings towards each other, but I'm not sure if it works. Maybe they just sound like 2 weirdos. Below more info about the gifts. - Haya always liked all the hair decorations Momo has, so that's why she gave her one. It's wooden. - Nadeshiko's (by @magicallymade.art) family runs an acclaimed pottery business, so she gifted a teacup made by her fam. I'm thinking this design was made by her brother 🤔 - Nanami (by @kuru.pudding) bought a dango from best dango shop she knows & insisted on decorating the cake with it and slices of lemon (Izu had no choice but let her) - Rose got her a brooch/pin bc he knows she loves them, and this one reminded him of her a lot - Izuru as always did most & best work, but no worries, he wanted to. It's a lemon cake (note: I was pedantic enough to make Rose & Haya eat some of the portions from their spoons in between their chat panels. But it barely shows in zoom out... Why am I like this? We may never know) - Tesla managed to sneak in earlier on. He chose red tulips bc they’re one of symbols of love in flower language. He didn’t want to go with red roses bc 1) the message would be too obvious 2) he doesn't like roses, you can surely guess why

This was mainly done as vent art, but has some lore connections too. When Haya first visited her inner world in order to achieve bankai, the sword spirit tried to drown her in a lake that exists in there. The theme of losing the ability to breath reappears later on in Haya's story as well.

I chose Anna Kendrick for Haya's ENG voice, but instead of making a proper voice post, I did this (Anna voices Poppy from Trolls) ♫

By the way, Poppy's personality is quite similar to Haya's, except in reality my girl would realize that a rescue trip would be hard, maybe too hard for her - but then would do it anyway.
