Yes, she knew he had to run the club to maintain this lifestyle, which she liked very much. But she also wanted her man near her as much as possible.

After all, who knew what distractions were at that club of his? There were always so many women around those things and she was not the sharing type.

"You know, that's all I like to do, Josie," Harvey reassured her.

Much as he liked her, he was a little concerned about how sensitive she could be about what she perceived as being ignored. He wasn't ignoring her at all, he just had a full plate.

Of course, he was more than capable of showing her just how much he liked spending time with her.

This was ridiculous, thought Harvey. How hard could it be to find one heavily-tattooed goth woman in a dessert town?

Unless, of course, she was never there in the first place?

And it wasn't like he could have another stern talk with Delia, who resigned from the club the day after he paid her a visit. He was probably rougher on her than he should've been and she was rightfully spooked. Which was too bad - she always brought a good crowd into the venue, where as her roommate had all the performing charisma of a wooden log.

He wasn't too worried about Delia speaking about his visit to anyone. Authorities weren't likely to take seriously the ramblings of a stripper if she told them about him threatening her. And if anyone did, he had ways to deal with them.

"Harvey?! What's taking you so long?" Josie called from the hot tub.

"I was almost thinking you forgot all about me," Josie pouted.

"Me? Never!" he joined her.

Harvey was having a pretty nice day until the phone call.

He had Dupre and the guys working extra hard to find Rachel since her uncanny escape from the club, but there was zero success so far. It was like the woman vanished into thin air. Of course, it wasn't possible, was it?

"Hey, any news?" he asked.

"None, boss. Fred and I scoured every motel and hotel in Lucky Palms. Do you have any idea how many of them are here?" his employee Michael sighed. "Why do they even have gambling here? They're making a killing just from hotel fees."

"Who's gonna go to the middle of the dessert just to stay at some dingy hotel if they can't gamble, idiot?" Fred snarked at his companion. "He's right, though, Harvey. There's no sign of that girl here. With those tattoos, someone would've remembered her, that's for sure."

"What about the guy? Have you seen Asher Blake yet?" Harvey pressed. This was the guy Rachel took off with and he probably knew her whereabouts.

"Oh, yeah, he's not here right now," Fred chimed in. "His secretary or something said he was in St Claire for the past three months in anticipation of some deal or other. Can't give any details, she didn't really elaborate. I bet she's more than just his secretary, if you get my drift."

"Yeah, yeah... whatever. So, no sign of either?" He wasn't sending people to St. Claire - at the very least, because he didn't have the right connections there and it would be too risky. "This is pointless. You should come back for now."

"If you say so, boss."

"Yeah, I'd like you to stay," Harvey invited her. "It gets rather lonely around here at times. And I'm enjoying your company. What do you say?"

"Great! I'd love to stick around," Josie smiled. "I've been feeling rather lonely as well, lately."

"Bad breakup?"

"Divorce."

"Huh. Well, he's an idiot," Harvey shrugged. "His loss."

"You know what? You are absolutely correct. And that's why you are a better man than him. In more ways than one," Josie glanced at him in a sultry way.

"Glad to hear that," Harvey grinned.

"Your club sounds like such a hassle," Josie noted. "You're the boss. Why can't you find people to lighten your load?"

"Finding good help is hard. Everyone wants to get paid, but no one wants to actually work. At the end of the day, I still end up responsible for everything," Harvey complained.

"That sounds like a drag," Josie sympathized.

"Yeah, well, story of my life."

"Maybe I should help you out?" Josie offered. "I'm very good with people, you know."

"Hmm, I'm sure, but why would you want to spend your time on that?" Harvey paused. He hasn't actually told Josie it was a strip club that he owned yet and he had a feeling she won't take it the best way. And he certainly didn't want her knowing about the other "business" of the club just yet... maybe if things got a little more serious between them?

"So that you'd have more time," she grinned.

"I've got plenty of time now," he smiled.

It so happened that staying with Harvey for a bit longer turned into staying with him indefinitely - a situation that greatly pleased Josie.

While his house wasn't the biggest, it was certainly luxe and Josie took full advantage of all the amenities.

With one of the main amenities, of course, being the owner of the house, who met her needs both physically and by showering her with compliments.

Life was good.

Of course, sometimes Harvey was busy with phone calls about the club (which she thought she should probably visit at some point), but that was expected behavior for someone who was a busy enterprise owner. This, Josie could deal with.

Her auntie did have a rather shocked look when Josie came to get her stuff and told her she was moving in with Harvey, but Chandra quickly became helpful and helped her gather all of her belongings from the house and even helped her pack them into Harvey's car.

And to think that she wanted to introduce her to some accountant. Hah! She did just fine for herself.

Harvey did invite her over "for drinks" but of course, this was an excuse for both of them and they really came back to his place to hook up.

There was no need to waste much time on dumb talk.

He wanted her, she wanted him, and Josie was tired of waiting. So was Harvey. He's been pretty stressed out lately, after all, and this was a great way to improve his mood.

And while it may have come as a surprise to some who knew him, Harvey was not a bad lover and definitely made Josie's night worthwhile.

The moment she found herself free of Maria’s company, Josie made her way towards the bar.

This party sucked, but at least there was booze. She needed that. And also for this dumb evening to end, so she could go home and take a nap. She was feeling beat.

When she approached the bar, Anna finally realized why this woman looked familiar - this was her brother’s crazy ex! Of all the people she could run into today...

Clearly, Josie didn’t recognize her, but why would she? Anna only knew her from looking her up online, since Kevin had deleted all pictures of the woman from his social media. And Anna herself didn’t have much of an online presence.

She wondered how to quietly tell Demarcus who this was without alerting Josie, but seeing another familiar face made her freeze.

Harvey Gritton. Rachel’s former boss and known killer.

Or at least, known to her.

Shit! Rachel and Ashton were on the run. Because Rachel was a witness and oh no, Harvey had previously seen her with both of them.

Didn’t he? Sure, he was on the phone that evening and it was dark, but he might have remembered her face. He might make the connection...

“Oh my god! Thank you so much!” Josie thanked her savior. “How lucky for me that you were right behind me!”

“Well, I certainly wasn’t going to let you fall, not when I was right here,” Harvey shrugged. “I’m Harvey, by the way.”

“Josie. Delighted to meet you,” she gave him her most charming smile.

“The pleasure is all mine,” Harvey smiled and gave her hand a kiss. “And may I say, you are truly a sight for sore eyes.”

Oh! Now this was getting interesting, thought Josie. And very pleasing indeed.

“You’re hardly bad to look at yourself,” she turned up the allure. “What brings you here?”

“My dad’s birthday,” he motioned towards the old man. “You?”

“Chandra’s my aunt.”

“Well, I see beauty runs in the family, then,” he complimented her. “What do you say we step outside for some air? It’s getting a little stuffy in here.”

“Oh, I’d love that,” she smiled.

"I like your house, by the way," Josie told him, as they came down to the kitchen. "Everything looks very chic and stylish. You have a good taste."

He wasn't about to tell her that the place was decorated by a designer his father hired. Let her think it was all him.

"And I like to think I have a good taste in more than just home decor," he glanced at her approvingly. "You are very beautiful."

"Aw, you are such a sweetheart. Thank you," Josie preened.

She really enjoyed Harvey's compliments. Finally, she had met a man who knew how to treat a woman!

"You've mentioned you run a club," Josie remembered. "Does that mean you are busy today and will be leaving soon?"

"Nah, I'm off today. I have the whole day to myself. You?"

"Me too, actually," Josie told him. "I'm between roles right now."

"Does that mean, you are free to spend the day with me?" Harvey asked, pleased.

"If you'd like me to, I'd be delighted," Josie smiled sweetly.

Harvey woke up with a pounding headache, feeling like he was forgetting something.

His Pop's birthday was last night and he definitely drank too much. He knew he shouldn't have, but with that darn girl still missing, he was constantly on edge and the alcohol sure helped soothe the nerves.

"Good morning!" a sing-song voice in his bedroom made Harvey nearly jump. "I wasn't sure how you take your coffee, so I made it black with two sugars, just in case. I thought you'll need it after last night, cutie."

"Huh? Oh, thanks!" Harvey smiled, feeling a little bewildered.

Yes, he was remembering now. He and Josie (that was her name!) drove back home from the club after the party. And they proceeded to have a really good time.

That made him smile. Last night really did work out quite wonderfully, even if he had low expectations for his father's birthday party.

In fact, he thought, he wouldn't mind waking up to the sight of Josie in his room on the regular.

To her major displeasure, Maria was back in her path once more.

“Drinking? You know that stuff ages you quickly, right? But I can understand - when your career isn’t going too well, the urge to drink is there.”

A bubble of laughter escaped from Josie.

“What’s so funny?” Maria frowned.

Alcohol was certainly unhealthy, but it sure could put some things into perspective, thought Josie.

“Oh, you know. It’s just amusing. We’re at this fancy club, with all these fancy rich folks who you could be socializing with. And instead, you’re here, stuck to me like glue,” Josie grinned.

“Excuse you?!” Maria looked affronted.

“Oh, don’t deny it, hon. All this talk about me being entertaining on the set - you really like, me don’t you?” Josie smiled. It totally made sense. Why else would Maria hang around her this whole time? “But just as friends, right? I don’t really swing that way...”
