I’ll never get around to drawing/writing this BUT Hannibal Cutthroat Kitchen AU where Hannibal is the host and the contestants are unknowingly cooking people during those insane challenges. And Will goes undercover on the next season as a contestant bc he believes that TV personality Hannibal Lector is somehow behind the string of murders that have been going on in that area and the closest he can get to him is to become a contestant on the show. And Jack reluctantly pulls some strings to get Will on the show bc he wouldn’t Shut Up about it and it’s messing with how efficient he is at his job. The problem is Will actually has to compete and he sucks at cooking anything but fish dishes, but for some Mysterious Reason he keeps winning the challenges okay goodnight 💀

Hannibal Rewatch musings / 1x08 through 2x04 because I’m terrible and I binge watched them

♦ that weak bitch hannibal already in it deeper than it’s gonna be safe for him

♦ hannibal: “will is ill :(( that makes me sad Beddy :(((” BITCH!!! IT’S YOUR FAULT!!!

♦ I love it whenever Gids Does A Murder and tattlecrime claims it was the Ripper and Will is like 'oh the Ripper’s gonna be SO pissed’ and it cuts to Hannibal clearly having read the news and looking like

♦ s1 Hannibal character development is like, “a........ ¿¿Feeling??”

❀ the light from friendship won’t reach us in a million years 😭😭❤️❤️ this line!! i Feel!!!

❀ we been knew but it’s fascinating that, like, this at the beginning of s2 is such a formative moment for Will. Paradoxically hating Hannibal so viscerally here, or more like feeling so viscerally betrayed by him, is conducting to him loving him (more, so much more) later on AND to his eventual Becoming? Because it’s precisely the Reckoning that drives him to try to gain ground, seek a power balance between him and Hannibal by ‘stepping up’ to Hannibal’s tactics, actively influence and manipulate him back? it’s what drives him to get closer to him and get further into his head in the second half of the season and that goes well, except that doing all of that has Unintended Consequences (whoopsie).

❀ Definitely not coincidentally it’s here at the beginning of s2 that Will points out that a patient-psychiatrist relationship is inherently power-unbalanced, and that the issue is discussed. Balancing the power in the relationship is the progression of the season.

❀ heyy Bedelia and Will on relatively friendly terms and not behaving like chILDREN ?? no side eyeing? no spitting in each other’s wine glasses? no cleavage contests? with all that Implying, and that Subtly Threatening Murder, you forget there ever was a time when they weren't like that!!

❀ Bedelia be at Will’s cell like ‘the truth is out there’

❀ Bedelia’s like ‘you’re obsessed with will graham’ DUDE!! you think this is the last you hear of him!!! you think you know what a broken record sounds like!!! my good woman you should start stocking up on wine now!!!

❀ When Bedelia says [because of Hannibal bringing Will up with her] that she almost feels like she knows Will, Will is SO QUICK to correct her that she doesn’t. Does it so drily. Bedelia immediately agrees because she’s not at all stupid. Will gets so offended, SO offended when people who don’t understand him (and Bedelia here really doesn't know him) claim to know him. He finds it so rude, if it were to be said in Hannibal terms. Same way he gets disproportionately offended by most professionals trying to poke into his head/study him, because he thinks they’re all idiots not worth his time who could never actually understand him. (Chilton is probably the best example here, he straight up refuses to talk to him until it's convenient to him). Like, I don’t know how Jack ever let him into FBI work. Before Hannibal, among psychiatrists Will had respect for... Alana. That’s it. Alana who’s kind, and honestly supports him without presuming she can intrude on his mind or understand how he experiences the world.

I don’t know how it never rang an alarm bell in Jack’s head that Will thinks virtually any other civillian or fellow professional with the gall of believing they understand him is an affront to him, and marks these people down as idiots who actually understand nothing about him and could never get on his level, as equals. How has it never occurred to Jack that someone who feels that way, and as wild a variable as Will is, becomes dangerous very quickly, especially if they find someone who they feel can finally be their equal, someone endlessly, lovingly fascinated by the part of him nobody understands and who can see him?
