OW2 managed to nerf the character bios while still having a big retcon with Anubis in Pharah's bio. Oh and all the new characters don't have their ages listed so no worries about how Kiriko's age lines up with the Shimada Bros.

While I agree that the reduced bios suck, I genuinely don't know where the retcon with Anubis in Pharah's bio is. We knew Anubis was active during the Crisis and had gone rogue, and we didn't know precisely what caused the omniums to start producing omnic armies. We also knew Anubis was called a "god program", and it was a term unique to Anubis—so, as far as I remember, and my lore is really rusty, so maybe I simply forget something here, this doesn't contradict and it actually was already implied? It's not a retcon, afaik, it's just new information?

I also have seen people upset over Kiriko's Origin video, saying that it shows Kiriko is a child hanging out with Genji when he's an adult, which I presume is also your complaint. But, I? Don't know where that is coming from? She looks to be, like, 9 or 10 and Genji is like 13 or 14? It sucks we don't know her exact age, but I don't know where the complaint that Genji is 25 in her Origin is coming from exactly.

There's a lot of things that I don't like. I do agree the bios on the website are handled poorly, but I keep seeing specific lore complaints that make me very baffled.

Generally, I'm like, it's a Blizzard property. Have you SEEN how messy the lore for most of their other stuff is? I don't know if my expectations are high there in general, lmfao, especially since this is at the end of the day, a PvP team shooter and not a narratively intensive project.

And, honestly, as someone who is a fan of many properties with a lot of retcons and inconsistencies (hey, current primary interest, the incredibly much more narratively intensive CritRole!), some major, a retcon has to be INCREDIBLY huge and a complete reversal to bother me. So, if you (specifically) or you (generally) are looking to complain to me about minor ostensible retcons (because that's all that it ever seems to be in Overwatch complaints, never a huge 180 one), I'm not your gal. Except for the ones I fixate on bc it's fun to, of course.

I'd rather stick to more solid complaints, like, yes, how it sucks that the bios have been severely reduced. Because I do think that sucks.
