I don’t always think people take into account the strength vs durability difference in humans and cybertronians. Like yeah, everyone can at least acknowledge that it’d be incredibly easy for them to kill us if they so chose, and most even know it’d be pretty easy to unintentionally kill us by stepping on us, but have you truly considered just how easy it would be for bots to accidentally hurt us with minor mistakes?
A human playfully flicking the helm of bots when they’re being annoying or silly, and one day an overcharged bot tries to return the favor and quite literally blows the head off the human with a flick. It’s just another version of Superman’s “world made of cardboard” speech, everything on this organic planet is so tiny and fragile to them- even our metal structures aren’t as durable as cybertronian metal.
The extreme cases (as mentioned above) are often brought up but what about the small cases where nobody dies or is even fatally wounded but a just tiny movement leads to an injury? A bot playfully poking their charge and giving them a concussion or a bloody nose, or even a light tap to guide them away from a drop off that sends them flying onto their back a few feet away.
People account for slip ups that might make them hit human with full force or weight, which obviously will kill them, but what about the fact that even when they move slowly and carefully they’re still a few tons of hulking metal made to destroy things? Momentum and strength are somewhat relative to the perspective of size- to them they’ve made a small idle movement, only readjusted their pose, but to the human sitting on their shoulder who’s 1/10 their size, the entire World just tilted. A cybertronians sprinting speed would seem like a roller coaster to the poor person in their grip.
You bring that momentum difference into direct contact? Yeah, you’re gonna have some issues. The amount of whiplash cases Ratchet has to deal with because the bots haven’t learned to come to a complete stop before Carefully and Slowly picking their charge up… he’s gonna have a rage fueled aneurysm one of these days.
Imagine some poor speedster trying to save their human friend from the line of fire by snatching them out of the way, running and dodging as fast as possible to get them to safety, finally stopping and looking down in confusion at the limp body with an oddly angled neck 😬
Ratchets gonna have to start handing out human safety packets about about how to handle us without. Y’know. Killing us. No wonder he wants to get the hell off earth as soon as possible 💀
