How is NYC? I Assume you have 8 roommates and live on instant ramen lmao. Did you get to enjoy the city a little? Did you know anyone there before you moved and are you missing home?

Actually no jajajaja I have my own room and bathroom... my building also has a private gym and laundry. Which is a big big big fucking plus, because as we all know I enjoy to workout daily. But it does come at a price so ask me in a couple of months and if I manage to stay maybe I will be enjoying that 8 roommate and nothing ramen aesthetic.

Regarding if I knew anybody, well... my ex lives in the city so that was a thing and I also knew a couple of acquaintances... but I have met wonderful wonderful people who are now my dearest friends. You know when you meet someone and you are like omg this could be a life long thing? that's the kind of magic that surrounds me with the people I have met.

RUHN DANAAN KNEW THREE THINGS WITH ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY.

All and all I'm like I mean, what's not to like? Custard, good. Jam, good. Meat, good! I still think it's a solid read even when it's my least favorite sjm sequel. I enjoyed it. I look forward to rereading it. It gave a wider scope into the mega world she is building. Good character development (I even think Bryce's reluctance to develop further is a perfect natural reaction to the events of HOEAB). The rhythm could have been finessed more but it was decent. The events of the book were entertaining and offered a good take on those inbetween moments between the huge HUGE events that define these sorts of stories.

The only things were 1. The fashion still sucked. 2.Bryce was a tad annoying and if she had been my friend I would be like enough! enough! but still much love to her and 3. It was unnecessarily long baby this cold have been a 570 pg book tops.

I know it had like a mixed reception... at least amongst my group of little online hoes... but for me it was a good read.

What was your experience like as an OG Elucien? I haven't been around in the fandom that long, but I've seen multiple posts recently about how Eluciens in 2017-18 weren't treated that great by other shippers :(

Feysand, Nessian, Elucien, Moriel: long ago (right after acomaf was released and towards the end of the wait for acowar) the four nations lived in harmony, but then everything changed when the Mor-Lucien hate began. Only SJM, master of all her ships could save us. But when the world needed her the most she published acowar fueling another ship and destroying moriel, yet she gave us basically all the hints that Elucien she vanished

Not long ago, my Eluciens and I decided to stay in our little community, we went into hidding and enjoyed our content. We believed in the steadiness of our ship regardless of verbal abuse, poorly made analysis, misogyny and internalized homophobia.

I know we have a long way until it is visibly confirmed on page (even though it's hella obvious that's where we are headed) but I have full faith that SJM will save us.

*cue the ATLA soundtrack*

Honestly my experience as an Elucien has been amazing. I have mostly stayed out of the fandom war, except for a few posts here and there. I live by a live and let ship philosophy. I have met great harlots in my Elucien community. I love Lucien, I love Elain, I love Elucien. All is good on my shores. But that is also because I live in the fandom version of an island on the Caribbean drinking mojitos. Still I know and I have seen the horrible horrible abuse that other sub groups within shipping communities send to anyone who doesn't ship what they ship.

Finally, last I checked it's May 2022 and guess what? SAY IT WITH ME *points the mic to the crowd* ELUCIEN ARE STILL MATES *the crowd goes wild*

Bonuuuuus: House of Earth and Blood and A Court of Silver Flames (Yes the last 20% was a bit clunky buuuut I will overlook that because Nesta's journey was chef's kiss in that book).

Crown of midnight with its Chaolena agenda can choke :)

Maybe HOSAB... that book had no business being 800 pages long. But then again it had RuhnLidia so like... a win is a win.

But also I love Realisation Par, & Other Stories, I have a few things from Uncle Studios, Kitteny is also great for the cottagecore hoe in me, Arket always has a place on my wishlist, Dôen too, gotta say that yes you will find me at Zara because I think they have cool stuff that you can elevate your look with, Trois the lable, FAIT PAR TOUCH I AM COMING BACK FOR YOU, My Mum Made It, I am known to peruse Annie Bing, Pretties Venice, Coucou intimates... and well lingerie is another thing but yeah..

If I had it my way, I would also be a Prada girlie, but alas not for another couple of years.

Between all of those I am able to create my femme fatale x dark academia x cottagecore x masculine vibes aesthetic... with a bit of mermaidcore to just add some depth you know?

Hey! I'm so glad to see you posting again. I wanted to ask are you still part of the sim fandom, you barely seem active anymore? I don't want to be mean or anything, just a question out of an observation

Hello my boo!

I am. I most definitely am. Life just got really busy. I had a blast reading HOSAB and going through part of ACOTAR las year before life became chaotic lol. I'm still a Rhys girlie. I still love Manon Blackbeak and I am still waiting for her book. I am thankful I got Miss Lidia being badass. Queen.

But to tell you the truth, the theories got a bit much. Like the whole fandom shifted to really long and dull analysis of why Elain will end up with x or y, and when you've read Sarah's books for as long as I have you just know how this story will turn out. It's going to be Elucien. I'm sorry to the rest of you but if Elain and Az do hook up it will be that... a hook up they both kinda regret eventually and rather pretend never happened, Cassian brings it up on solstice dinner and everyone laughs and cringes.

The other theories were like the really really really really long explanations about how this word that appears on this one chapter is echoed in this other book in the other series meaning that the cat is actually Dorian's father, who somehow is now connected to Nyx because Nyx has a cat plushie in his crib. Respect to those who enjoyed it, but it's not for me.

And if it wasn't that then it was how much everyone hated the crossover and how it ruined ACOTAR or CC or whatever for them and I just *tired sigh*. While everyone is entitled to their own opinions and can post about them online, it did become like the trend to hate or not trust or dislike her decision. So I took a step back of my online fandom experience, because it gets tiring to see everyone and their mothers criticize Sarah.. when I adore her so much and I do think her work is good. Sometimes I do wonder if for all the people who dislike her world building, her writing style, her character dynamics, her narrative choices... like is it worth it to keep reading it just because you like 3 characters and then hating what she did with said characters?

Anywho, most of my irl friends who also read sjm are on board with the crossover -like why not it will be an experience™️ - and excited to read the 5 to 10 chapters she will most likely spend in Prythian and then send Bryce on her way -with like cocktails, a espresso martini like the pretentious bitches we are-. So that's where I went. To the "well rather wait until it drops before I start saying it's a mess" camp. It drains me a bit to see how other people are already like "i hate it"... so when we see how it actually develops oh I just know it's going to be worse. Because like yes she clearly retconned some aspects of her plot.. but I think, more often than not that is part of the creative process in most artistic endeavours. You cannot plan a big ass series that will take a big chunk of your life to write and not have those initial plans change. It's like the architecture vs the garden writing thing.

So yeah I curated my online experience so much I got an irl experience instead. But you know you can always hit me up to talk about her books, mostly in a positive-critical way. Because yes... her world building is not as straight forward or like squared (I don't have a better word but like... the rules are clear and logical and A-> B -> C) as some people normally prefer; but I think there's something engaging in how she approaches it when you tie it to her characters and then extrapolate that to fantasy trends in the past few decades. Like give her some credit is all I'm saying.... which people really don't... even when they like her characters...but then again they like them for their version of the characters and not for how Sarah wrote them.. you know Sarah... the one who created them.

This got way longer than I expected... no I'm off to learning my lines again.
