أعلنت نقابات المزارعين الفرنسيين، الجمعة أنها قررت مواصلة التعبئة في اليوم الثامن من التحركات الاحتجاجية وإقامة حواجز على الطرق، معتبرة الإجراءات التي أعلنت عنها الحكومة غير كافية.وقال أرنو روسو رئيس «الاتحاد الوطني لنقابات المزارعين» FNSE وهي النقابة التي تمثل أغلبية المزارعين والمتحالفة مع المزارعين الشباب «ما قيل الليلة لا يهدئ الغضب، يجب أن نذهب إلى أبعد من ذلك»، معتبراً أن تصريحات رئيس الوزراء الفرنسي غابريال أتال «لم تلبّ» كل التوقعات.أعلن أتال الجمعة إلغاء «الزيادة في وقود الديزل الزراعي غير المستخدم على الطرق» وأعلن عن تسهيلات إدارية، استجابة لغضب المزارعين.وبذلك وافق أتال على أحد المطالب الرئيسية للمتظاهرين بإلغاء الزيادة الضريبية، رغم أنها مسجلة في موازنة 2024، على الديزل الزراعي غير المستخدم على الطرق والتي كانت سترفع تدريجيا حتى عام 2030.كما وعد رئيس الحكومة بتيسير الإجراءات الإدارية معلناً «عشرة تدابير تبسيط فورية». وأشار على وجه الخصوص إلى «تنظيف مجاري المياه الزراعية» وعن «مهل الاستئناف ضد المشاريع الزراعية».علاوة على ذلك، أكد أتال أن فرنسا «تعارض التوقيع» على الاتفاقية التجارية بين الاتحاد الأوروبي ودول أمريكا اللاتينية الأعضاء في ميركوسور.وتتفاوض دول أمريكا اللاتينية مع الاتحاد الأوروبي منذ سنوات على هذه الاتفاقية التي تعثرت بشأن القضايا البيئية ويرفضها المزارعون الفرنسيون بشكل خاص، بسبب خطر المنافسة مع منتجات تلك الدول.كما دعا أتال إلى التطبيق السليم للقوانين الفرنسية التي تهدف إلى حماية دخل المزارعين في سياق المفاوضات مع المصنعين والمتاجر الكبرى وقال إن الحكومة ستفرض «في الأيام المقبلة عقوبات صارمة» على ثلاث شركات لا تحترم هذه القوانين، ووعد أيضاً بتعزيز المراقبة.وأعلن رئيس الوزراء أيضاً عن التحرك لتقديم مساعدات طارئة سريعة، لا سيما فيما يتعلق بالمرض النزفي الوبائي الذي يصيب الماشية وزيادة التعويضات للمزارعين.يأتي الإعلان عن هذه الإجراءات في الوقت الذي يزيد فيه المزارعون الضغط على الحكومة مع تعطيل بعض الطرق المؤدية إلى باريس بشكل خاص الجمعة، فيما ما زالت بعض الطرق السريعة مغلقة.وشارك 72 ألف مزارع الجمعة في التحركات في جميع أنحاء فرنسا، وفقاً للنقابات. The attention of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has been drawn to remarks making the rounds to the effect that “Ohanaeze Ndigbo disowns Ekweremadu” over his ordeal in the United Kingdom. While Ohanaeze Ndigbo owes it a duty to stand with our own, especially in times of difficulty, it is not in their character to be hasty with statements over issues without sufficient facts.
2. It is noteworthy that eminent Igbo patriots have at one time or the other, pleaded with impostors and pretenders to desist from reckless and unguarded statements that portray the Igbo in a bad light using the platform of the Apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide. For purpose of clarity, the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo is Ambassador Professor George Obiozor while the Secretary General is Ambassador Okey Emuchay, MFR.
3. Amongst the Igbo, it is a cultural anathema to rejoice over a brother’s misfortune. And this is where the remarks by Mr. Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, is very germane and instructive. According to Obi: “My family and I are with the Ekweremadus over their travail. We join all men of goodwill in praying for the healing of their daughter and commit them into God’s hand for justice to be done.” This is an overarching agelong Igbo moral.
4. Ohanaeze Ndigbo salutes His Excellency, Engr. Dave Umahi, FNSE and Governor of Ebonyi State for his intervention to ensure that emotions and social media tigritude do not outweigh the facts in the matter.
5. Our hearts go to our daughter, Miss Sonia Ekweremadu; and it is our fervent prayer that Sen. Prof. Ike Ekweremadu, CFR; Lady Nwanneka Ekweremadu, PhD and family will overcome the current travails.

Not a complete foreigner to luxury, Jude’s had an easy time of integrating himself into Amelia’s inherited home — though songbird’s company is only a part of why he’s stuck around. Vintage wines and cigars are the other reasons: it feels good to hide away from everything and just lounge, boots kicked off and recent steal smoking from where it lazes in hand aside his head. Jude’s trying, and failing, to blow plumes of cigar into shapes like seen in cartoons.
