Does this meant that Simon has supplanted Sydney as Tristan's heir?
In Kristopher's eyes? YES!! In reality, Kristopher will be dead by the time Tristen has to officially name his heir so the line of succession is unchanged. Despite Druzar never having a female regnant, there is no law specifying male primogeniture. Historically if the eldest child of the monarch/heir is a female, she'd be married off to the heir of another country which would make her ineligible for the Druzian throne.
Since I won't be covering much of the non-Blaze Druzar shenanigans between now and the start of Chapter 6, here's the Druzar Line of Succession as it will be once my main story returns (~5 years from where we are currently at in BRHP)

Ushnar receives a note from a courier. “Urgent matter,” he says. The type of paper and the writing on the seal tells him enough.
His clan has finally decided to reach out. Was it mother? One of the wives who somewhat understood? Perhaps is was Duzar, who wrapped his wounds in secret before ushering him out of the stronghold. His first thought is to burn it, let it turn to ash and spite. He wants to. He needs to. Leave it be, he tells himself. Grozul made it clear you’re not welcome.
Instead, he breaks the seal. The writings of his seven wives adorn the inside, a writ for safe entry. “Come back,” it says. “Your father is dying.”
It was only a matter of time. Mal Drohzal is four weeks travel. He only has the night to decide. It’s not an easy choice. It never is, going back.
But go back he does. Not for the old bastard, but for his mother. He expects spit and spite from the guards at the gate, and almost suspects a trap when the heavy gate opens.
His mother is the first to greet him. She makes no mention of the beard, or his larger tusks. She merely nods her head. “Come, he’s in the longhouse.”
The shamans’ incense still burns. Grozul lies in his bed, surrounded by six of his wives. Bahrak takes her place next to her husband chief. The old Orc’s eyes are closed, his chest rising and falling slowly.
“Husband,” she says softly. “Someone is here to see you.”
His response is as labored as his breathing. “Who is it?”
“Who you sent for, husband.”
A storm brews in his head, blood and yells and declarations of I have no son. His knuckles are raw, lip split and ego bruised. His father still has the scar across the forehead.
Grozul coughs. Bahrak wipes the bile from his mouth. His eyes open. They’re milky from age.
“Come closer,” he whispers. Even seeing how old and weak his father’s become, Ushnar still delays. It’s not fear, not really. Apprehension, or some dreaded expectation.
He approaches the bedside. The things he does for love. At least Mother understood on some level.
Grozul reaches out. His hands are cold as they clasp around Ushnar’s own. “My son, it is good to see you.”

I come to you with a Duzar Moment in History!
King Ryland II of Druzar, born in 1901, married Her Excellency Matilda Berthe Goth of Pendula (@bridgeportbritt). King Ryland and Queen Matilda did what they could to aid Matilda's brother, His Almighty Excellency Mortimer Goth of Pendula.
The pair had four children together*, Crown Prince Fredrick, Prince Mortimer (later goes by Vincent), Princess Maude, and Prince Oliver. The two had a amicable marriage, Matilda enjoying the jewelry that came with her title. King Ryland had a sapphire and diamond parure made for her as a wedding gift. Queen Matilda wore it as often as possible, even to non-tiara events. The parure has most recently been seen on the late Queen Rhea.
King Ryland did not take any other wives due to a clause in their marriage agreement. This did not stop him from taking mistresses and fathering illegitimate children.
*Children pictured below the cut!
P.S The entire line of Druzian monarchs are now on my family echo!
