I decided to do a Sony A7 iii review because of the positive appraisal it has been receiving. The Sony A7 iii is the replacement for the A7 ii which was released in 2014. In terms of other entry level full frame cameras, the Sony A7 iii follows the Nikon D750 and the recently released Canon 6D Mark II.

Who this Product is For
The Sony A7iii is a full frame level camera. Because of its price and features the camera is perfect for the aspiring professional photographer or videographer.
Price
At the time of this writing, the Sony A7 iii cost $1998.
Additional Costs
There are few items that will require additional costs for the Sony A7 iii. Most noteworthy is the lack of a battery charger for the Sony A7 iii. Sony reportedly did this to keep the cost down. Sony sells an official battery charger, Sony BC-QZ1 Battery Charger, which is somewhat overpriced at $88.
In addition to the battery charger, if you plan on shooting video on the Sony A7 iii you will need a UHS-I / UHS-II type memory card. The Extreme PRO 64GB worked great in my testing with the Sony A7 iii.
What You Get
Compared to the previous A7ii, Sony has made improvements to the Sony A7 iii. These improvements include for the A7 iii include a longer battery life, lasting around 610 shots. In addition to longer battery life, the camera has two sd camera slots. Some of the things I enjoyed in this camera:
APS-C Mode.
Silent Shooting.
4K Video.
What You Won’t Get
Similar to what I wrote in my Sony A7rIII Review, the lack of an intervalometer in Sony’s latest camera continues to surprise me. There are of course workarounds such as using the S&Q mode but I wish Sony would add a firmware update for this feature. Outside of the S&Q mode workaround, I found the Cascable app to work amazing for timelapses. Unfortunately this app is not yet available on the Android system.
The body of the Sony A7 iii resembles the A7r iii. As a result of these changes to the body, the A7iii is also heavier compared to the outgoing Sony A7ii.
Summary: Sony A7 iii Review
In conclusion, I think the Sony A7 iii is a fantastic camera that met all my expectations. The A7iii seems like a mini A7rIII outside of the 42-megapixel sensor. I would have loved for Sony to include a fully articulated screen however with the increased autofocus and facial detection features assist in not needing a screen to see yourself. If you’re in the market for a new camera the A7 iii is a great choice.
