edensgalore presents a supernatural au. vampires & hunters trigger warnings. death, suicide, murder, fire (graphics)
PART ONE.
The monsters have always lurked in the shadows, always wanting to break free and reign over the world but a special set of humans -- hunters, never allowed them to. Keeping said monsters almost extinct. That was; of course - until the moment the best family of hunters decided to get turned themselves. That’s how the Kozak’s became the longest family of hunters to live as vampires.
The idea was simple, if they wanted to keep protecting defenseless humans, they would need to become the very monster themselves and so a pact was made. One member from each Kozak generation would be trained as a hunter and then turned into a vampire. Cursed with eternal life, yet given the gift to protect others.
That was all until the moment Ivan Kozak was born. Being the chosen one of his generation, Ivan refused at first to be turned. Having been raised with stories of the weight he’d need to carry for eternity, the last thing the newest Kozak wanted to be was a vampire-hunter. So he refused, this way becoming the deserter of his family. Tainting their names in the process but he didn’t care.
He wanted his freedom like no one else has been able to choose before.                                         Making this, the biggest mistake of his life.
