Tabbitha & Courtney, The Witches from COTC, drew some headcanon concepts of them thru the years, a rehash of some old Tabby ideas @halfglovepunch & I were playing around w/ years ago when we were like... Hey, could she have multiple outfits? Last pic is the old sketches, and 4th design of Tabby is based off a sketch of Ben's. And of course I had to add my takes on Courtney!
I like to think Tabby leans more goth/industrial and Courtney is more punk, but they listen like to things like Smashing Pumpkins together. Courtney is more laid back but still passionate about music, but she also sings Tabby Beck songs to piss her off.

It looks like Charmaine Verhagen will be joining the Fionna and Cake crew for the second season! She was a storyboard revisionist and character/prop designer during the later seasons of Adventure Time and storyboarded on the episode Wheels. More recently she has worked on Craig of the Creek.

Been thinking about her again lately.
Tumblr media
Apparently it's been 3 years since the last time I've drawn Bronwyn??? I really wanted to draw her again. She's very fun to draw. The bottom right Bronwyn's outfit is inspired by a piece of promo art that was drawn by Charmaine Verhagen. I really liked it so I wanted to draw it.
Also I wanted to try shading like how I did a year ago cuz the shading ive been doing lately has been tedious and not pleasant to do. This tablet isn't that comfortable (and I cant get a new one rn), and im heavy handed (pain). So this one is a bit more manageable aaa...
reblogs + likes are appreciated!!

I hope y’all enjoy these completely bonkers episodes! Also anyone who can guess what the promos are parodies of will receive: Cool Person Points.

It's my birthday! But I'm also looking for work in a couple months! My time as director on the Craig of the Creek show/movie is coming to an end, and so does my beautiful time at CN (I will stay if I can, haha)
I've got 10 years experience in animation, working on various Canadian productions such as MLP:FiM, to CN's Adventure Time and more recently Craig of the Creek. I've worked all sorts of jobs in the animation pipeline, from design to boards/writing, and directing! I love directing! I've got a dang good eye, I'm damn funny, I enjoy being apart of the whole process, and I want to keep making cartoons. I'm passionate!!
Comedy is my forte, but I do love sweet moments and a lil action! I included some board panel examples of some shots I liked from past Craig boards. TV or Feature, I'm your gal.

Episode Review: ‘Wheels’ (S08E16)
Tumblr media
Airdate: January 24, 2017
Story by: Ashly Burch, Adam Muto, Kent Osborne, Jack Pendarvis
Storyboarded by: Graham Falk & Charmaine Verhagen
Directed by:  (supervising), Sandra Lee (art)
Throughout the series, the producers and writers have sprinkled in references to skateboarding. It was only a matter of time before one of the show’s installments focused exclusively on the sport. But luckily, “Wheels” does more than just focus on sick, sick kickflips and grinds.
In this episode, Kim Kil Whan approaches Jake at his company’s picnic and asks for parenting advice: his teenage daughter Bronwyn’s grades have been slipping in school and he wants to know why. Jake trails Bronwyn late at night to a skate park, where she practices skateboarding with some of her friends. Jake forgets his original mission and attempts to be seen as ‘cool’ by Bronwyn and her friends by showing off his moves on his own set of wheels (remember, Jake can skateboard as seen in “Dark Purple”). Bronwyn, embarrassed by her grandfather, eventually challenges Jake to a skateboarding duel. In the end, Bronwyn wins but she lets her guard down when Jake very nearly kills himself attempting a dangerous stunt. Bronwyn also talks to her dad; Kim Kil Whan apologizes that he didn’t approach her himself, and that he should have accepted her hobby.
This isn’t the most earth-shattering episode of Adventure Time, but it’s darn near one of the sweetest (in both the skater-lingo way meaning “awesome”, and the more commonly accepted definition meaning “emotional”), and easily the most affecting episodes starring one of Jake’s [grand]children. Much like in “Ocarina”, Kim Kil Whan and his daughter learn to appreciate Jake’s ADHD jolliness, even if they don’t entirely understand it. And Jake’s actions in this episode really illustrate how much he cares about his family: he wants to look cool in front of Bronwyn and her friends. While that is rather self-centered, it at least shows that Jake cares what his grandchild and her pals think.
The episode’s final act is really just an excuse for the show to let loose and have a lot of fun with skateboarding antics. Many of the crew members on the show (Erik Fountain comes immediately to mind) are absolute skateboard addicts, and so I’m sure this was some sort of dream come to true to have most of the episode’s action revolve around the sport. What is more, all of the skateboarding sequences are expertly and impressively choreographed. This all culminates in the skateboard duel that literally had me on the edge of my seat.
There’s a lot of great jokes in this episode too (my absolute favorite being Jake completely eating it at the end of the duel, and then immediately farting. Classic). Hats off to Graham Falk and Charmaine Verhagen for both deftly boarding the entire deal, but also injecting it was levity and humor, something that is definitely needed after the season premiere.
Now let’s talk about Bronwyn. Aside from Finn, we don’t really have a lot of ‘teenage’ characters, so it was quite nice seeing the show explore the perils of that time through a different character’s perspective. With that being said, at times Bronwyn did come across as merely a teenager stereotype. Hopefully in the future, we’ll learn a bit more about her, and then the show can flesh her out a bit.
Of note, this is the second episode boarded by Falk wherein he has had a partner (the first was season six’s “Ghost Fly”). Pairing Falk up with Verhagen seems to have been a wise choice. I really enjoy Falk’s aesthetic and storyboarding style, but as of late, I’ve been thinking that he needs a partner, just so that his episodes are little more diverse, stylistically. And this episode certainly was, as it went from corporate picnic to skateboarding action in about four minutes.
Mushroom War Evidence: The entirety of the episode’s final act takes place in an abandoned amusement park.

The Adventure Time series finale, Come Along With Me, has finally aired! It was such a pleasure getting to work on the finale with so many talented designers: Joy Ang, Michael DeForge, Tom Herpich, Andy Ristaino, Charmaine Verhagen and Phil Rynda!
Since I don’t have any of the colored designs (including the special pose of the kiss) I did for this episode, here’s a little painting to celebrate one of the many moments that happened during the finale… A moment that made @agflex and I lose it when we first saw it pitched!
