Celebrating my forty-something birthday where my wife and I were heading out to dinner, dressed up. I've had this suit for 3 years or so, but just got it back from the tailors. I have not worn it much because it's a little trendy for me. Shorter jacket (measures at 31 inches, my comfort level starts at 32.5 inches), shorter sleeves, slimmer and all.. It is still a wonderfully made suit by Attolini that comes with all the bells and whistles a suit of this caliber comes with. I feel that suit is more suitable for a night out to a classic/classy event, rather than the office. Being that our dinner reservations were at night, I chose to go the 'Gotham Dark' route, with the black captoe shoes from Alfred Sargent and dark navy tie from Ascot Chang. Turned heads for sure and the look wore on me as I moved around. Tailor did an awesome job given some of the limitations on me...SUIT: cesare attolini...SHIRT: barba napoli..TIE: ascot chang..SHOES: alfred sargent..POCKET SQUARE: nordstrom..WATCH: breitling colt automatic...

12 Degrees Below Zero.

Wanted to take new suit out for a spin. Quickly realised that temperatures around 12 degrees below zero requires sturdier stuff so I had to get changed. Managed a few pics first though. Coat from Luciano Barbera, Cesare Attolini suit, bespoke shirt (CYC), tie from Kiton, Richard James ps, shoes from Morjas, Zegna scarf and gloves from Berg & Berg. ANOTHER WEEK, and I believe that most people (at least in the colder parts of Europe) have started to notice a rather sudden shift in temperatures. From one day to the other, the cold autumn winds came knocking. Though the underground is just has warm as always, the colder weather has made many dapper men bring out their tweeds, corduroys and flannels, and the colours change with the colours of the leaves.

At this early stage of autumn, men’s dressing is probably at its peak; who does not like layering and mixing fabrics? These are some great ways to do it.

Olof Nithenius has brought out his Satoria Solito tweed jacket of a very fine houndstooth pattern with a dark blue overcheck. It features beautiful natural shoulders, which combined with the perfectly made lapels makes a nice silhouette. He pairs his tie tone-in-tone with his trousers.

Andreas Weinås, though almost autumn, wears a neat Ring Jacket linen suit and loafers. He wears his pockets with the flaps folded in, adding formality to an otherwise casual suit. The con rollino shoulders adds some flair and makes his shoulder line pop.

Gui Bo in an outfit almost taken from “Peaky Blinders”. He wears a three-piece striped herringbone tweed suit with peak lapels and double-breasted waistcoat. He opts for a bow-tie rather than a neck-tie, which I personally think works perfect for this outfit. I am not a fan of the way he has hung his glasses, nor the vape, but otherwise, the outfit is quite toned down.

@permanentstylelondon’s cooperation with Private White W.C. for this trench coat has worked perfectly. As an homage to WWI era motorcycle riders, it has a slanted breast pocket with a flap, purposely made to store a map for easy access with the right arm.The length is just over the knees, and with the high storm-collar popped, it gives a very long silhouette not everyone could pull off. However, here it is done correctly.

@kenichiro_style in a pinstripe Cesare Attolini Napori suit, which he combines well with a burgundy silk paisley tie and white club collared shirt.

Benedikt Fries by @shubimifirenze, wearing their braces as mustard zig zag knit tie. I never knew mustard was such a great colour for accessories!

Perhaps the best manikin for a over-the-top autumn outfit that still does not look crazy. Engelska Herr’s tweed jacket features four bellow pockets with slants and button-flaps. These are made to actually be able to hold things. I would however not put my gloves in the breastpocket, but then again, this is a manikin to show off their garments.

Luca Rubinacci in a great early autumn combo. Thick roll neck sweater under a bespoke three-roll-two jacket with natural shoulders and buttoned flap pockets.

Matt from Drake’s in a casual outfit. Olive green overshirt, high rise trousers and white sneakers. Superb!

Another great tweed: this time on Dennis from Sons of Savile Row. It has pleated pockets, with the side pockets being buttoned with leather buttons. A great felt tie combines well with the large glencheck pattern of the jacket.

Not conjuring the same notions of timelessness and taste as it’s darker counterparts, electric blue is perhaps often regarded as somewhat ‘tacky’ in clothing, much less sartorialism, where it remains virtually unheard of. Eschewing this norm with absolute aplomb however, are Neapolitan stalwarts Cesare Attolini, who have managed to imbue electric blue with a palpable maturity - somehow realigning this almost garish colour to reflect the traditionalist underpinnings of the brand.
