Bombalurina's absolute bitchiness to Grizabella is personal because she sees Grizabella as a cracked mirror of herself. the glamour cat. gorgeous, desired and, now, this (demeter also sees it, which is why she's sympathetic to grizabella)

It's also personal because before Whatever Happened to Grizabella happened, when bombalurina was younger than her and prettier than her (think her generation's Victoria), Griz was so resentful about it.
