Azur Air is a large Russian charter airline operating flights from forty Russian cities to 29 international tourist route. The airline is a strategic partner of the tour operator Anex Tour. Azur The airline started operations in 1995 under the Katekavia brand and operated regional flights from Krasnoyarsk Cheremshanka Airport and Krasnoyarsk Yemelyanovo Airport. On December 17, 2014, the airline operated its first flight to Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt. In 2015, Katekavia rebranded as a travel carrier and was renamed Azur Air. By the end of the year, the company already had 14 aircraft, and its fleet consisted of Boeing 767-300 and Boeing 757-200 aircraft. Currently, it mainly serves tourist destinations, offering business class charters.

Well...Tonight sucked hard at work.

I rarely talk about this outside of my husband, but I need to vent.

I work for a major distribution center. We not only off-load and load trucks, we off-load and load air craft. And we use a lot of equipment that can and has been dangerous.

I'm on an off-load team. We off-load planes for half the night and then we load three planes the latter half.

I joined this team back in September. I was only qualified on one plane at that point, the Boeing 757. Google that if you want. It's a small plane.

I was fast tracked into the other air craft classes: Airbus (A-310/A-300), MDD-10-10/MDD-10-30/MDD-11, and the Boeing 777 (biggest plane in the fleet). I'm still not qualified on loading a Boeing 767.

Anywho, there's this guy on my team who, for whatever reason, has HATED me since day one. I guess it's cause I exist and that I was such a n00b. Even now, there's still things I'm learning because I haven't committed them to muscle memory yet, though I'm getting there.

This bothers him liek whoa. So much so he ignores me if I have a question or forgot where a control panel is normally (i had a blonde moment earlier tonight and mentally face palmed. No harm no foul, right? Not according to this guy). He refuses to help me with heavy cans. He refuses help when I'm at the halfway point between a belt-loader and the baggage cart.

I've tried to be nice, helpful, friendly. Everything I do gets thrown in my face. And one other guy on my team argues with me over simple fucking instructions.

Back to the first guy.

So, we have a pallet coming off the 757 tonight that I told these guys COUNTLESS TIMES needed to be staged in the first position section of the plane. That means up against the wall that leads to the cockpit. That way it's not blocking the cargo door.

The pallet gets up there. NEITHER ONE of those guys help me stage it. It's heavy and likes to wander on the ball mat. I finally look around it and see first guy leaning against the wall, IGNORING me while second guy is standing there looking confused.

Next plane, another 757. I'm having trouble disconnecting the hose that's attached to the dangerous goods (hazardous materials) can because I'm short and can't get a good grip on the mechanism that the hose is attached to to pop it free. I ask second guy to help, but he has the same problem. First guy only comes in after second guy asks, but ignores me when I ask.

He disconnects the hose and, instead of handing it to me, drops it and walks off. I have to bend down to get it.

Third plane is a 767. We're off-loading the belly side of the plane. It's always on the right side of the plane if you look at one from the back. This is where the small freight cans and shorter stacked pallets get loaded and off-loaded.

Me and one of the girls are in the aft (tail-end) section of the plane, pulling cans off the loader onto the dollies that carry them, minding our own business. First guy, after finishing with the forward section of the plane (nose-end), gets on the loader's outrig and, KNOWING that I am beside a can, in front of a can, or behind a can, helping to move it, starts FLINGING the cans around, nearly throwing me off the outrig onto the dolly or off the outrig entirely. This was the last straw.

Had I not let go of the cans, I could have broken my wrist/arm, dislocated my shoulder, landed wrong on the dolly and broken a foot/ankle/leg, fallen and hit my head, or, worst case, fallen under the loader. He turned a hostile attitude towards me into something thay could have gotten me hurt or worse.

I tried to let my boss know, but he kind of wandered off.

Needless to say...I don't feel welcome on my team. The others either don't see it, choose not to see it, are used to this guy and his bullshit, or they just don't care.

I don't...KNOW...what I did to deserve this. First guy complains that I don't do jack shit which isn't true at all. I pull cans when it's my week to drive the tug, I push cans when I'm not running the belly side loaders, I push cans when I'm not running the main top-side deck loader/am the off-load captain (i run the device that tells me what cans come off the plane. what the order is), I get into the aft bulk freight compartment and unload or load the freight, I guide the equipment up, etc. Are there still things I'm not good at? Yes. I still can't mate up the crew stairs well, or the belt-loader to the ABK compartment straight (aft bulk freight compartment). I have a hard time reaching the hose on the HAZ cans because I'm short, but I always try until I have to ask for help.

I DO MY JOB. But I get talked about behind my back, sometimes right in front of me because he's that fucking petty.

All of this coming from the man who complains about his job assignment EVERY. FUCKING. WEEK.

If I don't do "jack shit," then what the fuck does he do?

I'm reaching my wits end...

Though if he "throws" another fucking can at me again, I'm going straight to my boss then to HR for dangerous harrassment. I will not tolerate that.

So how are we flying to and from Germany?

As many of you know, I’ve traveled on American Airlines a lot over my 31-year career. If you live in Miami, AA is your airline. So let’s just say that I’ve accumulated a giga-zillion frequent flyer miles. How many frequent flyer miles, you may be asking? Well, a gentleman just doesn’t share his frequent flyer mile count! I decided to treat the boys (and me!) with an all-legs, first class flying experience for this German adventure.

Sadly, AA doesn’t have any direct flights to Germany from Miami International Airport (MIA). Instead, Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) is AA’s German hub in North America. So we start our adventure on Saturday, June 29, on AA 2239 leaving MIA at 10:54am (Eastern) and arriving at DFW at 1:03 pm (Central).

Then the real adventure begins! We’re flying to Munich (MUC) aboard AA 24, leaving DFW at 3:05pm (Central) and arriving at MUC on Sunday, June 30, at 7:55am (Central European Time), which is 6 hours ahead of Eastern time. That’s 9 hours and 50 minutes! I’ll be sitting in seat 2L, Frank in seat 2H, and Steven in seat 2D. Please take a look at this video to check out the business class (first class in international trips) on the Boeing 787-8 version 1 that AA will use for this flight. It has 20 business class seats that lie flat with a 21″ seat width.

We’ll be returning on Thursday, July 11. Our return trips starts in Berlin (TXL) and brings us back into the U.S. through Philadelphia (PHL). AA 65 leaves TXL at 10:10am (CET) and arrives in PHL at 1:25pm (Eastern). That’s a 9 hour and 15 minutes flight! For this flight, AA uses a Boeing 767-300. It has 28 business class (first class in international trips) seats that lie flat with a 19.8″ - 21.3″ seat width. I’ll be in seat 3A, Frank will be in seat 3D, and Steven will be in seat 3G. Our German adventure concludes with AA 2571, leaving PHL at 3:35pm (Eastern) and arriving at MIA at 6:50pm.

The real question is whether a 17-year old punk and 15-year punk deserve this kind of luxury air travel? Most certainly not! But I’m sure that when you see the smiles and awe on their faces when they enter their first ever trans-Atlantic business class cabins, it’ll be worth it. It cost me 1,080,000 frequent flyer miles for the three of us. Just the two legs from DFW to MUC and from TXL to PHL in the same business class level costs right now $10,743 per person, if you were to buy the one remaining seat left on both legs.

American Airlines is Making a Big Mistake With its Boeing 767s

Early in the year American Airlines CEO Doug Parker described his airline's Boeing 767-300s as a poor customer experience.

It's certainly true that business class on the plane -- while fully flat with direct aisle access -- is uncompetitive. It's a narrow, uncomfortable seat that feels like a coffin. The Thompson Vantage seat is one that many airlines have used for their 767s, but United is putting their Polaris seat in their 767s (which is marginally better) and Delta is putting suites with doors in their 767-400s. But it's better than what American offers on many routes, and offers more space in coach period.
