Feel like there's symbolic meaning to Wahlen's prosthetic arm but I can't place what it is. You could compare/contrast the prosthetic arm to Oberstein's prosthetic eye, specifically how other characters treat them
Oberstein's original eyes go blind because of a genetic disorder, and he's implicitly discriminated for it in the Goldenbaum-era Empire. People despise him and dehumanise him; even though they never mention or allude to his disability, it very likely does contribute to their prejudices. Meanwhile Wahlen loses his arm in battle, but nobody brings up his prosthetic arm or pays attention to it, and others treat him with the usual respect and friendliness
The double standard demonstrates the valorisation of war in Imperial society vs. its devaluation of "weak" (i.e. so-called "genetically defective", "inferior") individuals & the persistence of those beliefs in the New Galactic Empire. The New Empire, which has supposedly burnt down the unjust empire of Rudolf to start anew, still revolves around strength and war - is literally built on Reinhard's principle of might-making-right (and opposition to hereditary power). I've already mentioned this in a post on my main, but Oberstein's goal of establishing an Empire where individuals can't be unfairly treated for their genetics is not fulfilled

Imagine it's Saturday, the admirals have had a very long week of dealing with Oberstein antics and just want to watch TV in peace. First thing that pops up is Mr Robot eyes too good for emotions trotting his dog around for the judges. When they get all lined up, Oberdog just lies down and takes a nap. Anton Fellner is in the crowd with a sign cheering on Oberstein and Oberdog.
