Folks will tell you that Rome Streetz is having a standout year.
But folks that are truly in the know will tell you that Rome has been having a standout year for years.
Salute to one of the dopest MCs in the game right now, Rome Streetz.

Pardon me I am exhausted from listening to HWH8 all the way through at midnight last night, so here’s a quick rundown of the much anticipated new Griselda drop...
- strongest work from Westside Gunn since Pray for Paris, and while I am a fan of his work as an individual MC (his style and delivery is more exciting and unique than he gets credit for), dating back to Supreme Blientele he really does seem to excel as a coordinator of rap peers, making it seem so easy to bang out a quick dope album off of great bars, great beats, and a uniform sound
- the fact this dropped during another creepy DONDA listening session is interesting to me....at one point I would have thought that Kanye West was the best in the game at corralling sharp talent and bringing the best out of them at the midnight hour, but Gunn is certainly doing that for the underground
- Rome Streetz now rolling with GxFR!?  GAME OVER, rap game.
- that upcoming Stove God Cooks album, executive produced by Gunn?  This might have actually been it!  Stove God was everywhere, and in most cases, a very welcome addition to each track
- Conway shined in limited but VERY memorable contributions
- Sigh...if only we could get Jadakiss and Lil Wayne over more production in this vein (especially Kiss)
- no Daringer or Alchemist here....gotta assume “Side B” will be full of both (whenever that drops)
- Conductor Williams killed it as usual, Monk was solid, but on the production tip HWH8 was really Denny LAFlare’s coming out party, he yielded the project’s best instrumentals, so expect to hear a lot more from him in the future
First reactions: very good project, can’t say it surpassed my already high expectations, but for the collaborative, relentless Griselda onslaught I think Westside Gunn was going for with the first Side of the final installment of his infamous mixtape series....mission accomplished.  Halloween in August never sounded so good.
