Maaaan for real tho what happened to OC characters? I mean genuinely real OC characters, not a self insert?

With all these Tumblr fics of people fantasizing relationships with fictional characters or celebrities, I'm growing nostalgic for the days of FF.net when instead we had OCs. And these weren't ones that were obvious photocopies of the writer, but they were real deal characters that were just inserted in the canon or AU. (At least the ones I read were like that.) They were so creative and the world's that were morphed around them were good too!

I might start revisiting Fanfiction.net again...

#and I'm thinking and posting this while watching this shitty new superman anime on adult swim and I say shitty as a long time Supes fan #like listening I was DEEP in DC comics fandom before getting serious with Tumblr and before MCU and Age of Ultron #The amount of fics I have saved from other fandoms and content...
