ooc. also while I'm on this soap box, never forget that the fact that Joseph killed his infant daughter is common knowledge in the cult. one cultist even says she killed her son to "understand the Father's sacrifice". since making sacrifices to prove your commitment to the cult is always synonymous with murder in this context, it doesn't even break the frame of reference. i'm sure it's treated with gravitas and appropriate respect, it's nothing to make light of, and i don't think they find out about this until they're several levels deep but. all the cultists know.

I'm not entirely sure how controversial this is but...

A block button exists for a reason. A mute function in xkit exists for a reason.

If someone's annoying you? unfollow.

if someone to your estimation is problematic? block them.

Instead of vaguing on the dash (because how 2012 is that? and I say that because 18-21 year old me did, in fact, do that), just move along. We're all tired and inundated with life and tragedy in this world that making your dash a comfortable place for you to do a hobby in should take priority.

I for one, will block for myriad of reasons. Don't like their OOC vibes? Blocked. Don't like their blog aesthetics because it's unreadable and hurts my eyes? Blocked. Think their character is annoying? Blocked. I don't know them and I don't really care because I'm here to have a good time, which includes writing with my friends and mutuals, reading what my mutuals post, and enjoying my time on this blue hellsite together.

Stop posturing about your mutual count or follower count and just block people you don't wanna see!

Fucking hate the posts i see people make, and post in the Izzy Hands tag, analyzing how horrible Izzy is for what he's done to Ed without even mentioning what Ed did to Izzy.

These two characters' actions don't exist in a vacuum, their actions impact the other's actions. They are both being terrible to each other, it is disingenuous, at best, to make an analysis about one character's actions without addressing the other's.

And there are so many points that i see brought up that i really want to address, but also i don't want to engage with these people because i don't think it would be a productive discussion for anyone involved. like, i could pick apart why it doesn't make sense to condemn Izzy for not moving on after Edward kicked him out w/o even acknowledging how Ed literally prevented Izzy from leaving him by lying, but to what fucking end are we gonna have this discussion?

i could also point out how claiming Izzy is an abuser because "Ed looks abused" during the dueling scene ignores that it has been explicitly shown in the show (literally minutes earlier in the episode being referred to!!!!) that Ed was a victim of abuse in his childhood. Like, yeah, Ed does look abused, that's because he's being reminded of his childhood abuse again after he already had been triggered over it earlier that night. But I feel like replying to the person who wrote this to point this out would be too insulting just on the basis of how bad they fucked up in making their point.

i guess i'm just appalled that people could watch a dude get maimed in his sleep, and then still think that dude is 100% the bad guy who deserves no remorse or sympathy and that the guy who maimed him is above criticism.
