We know that Shanks loves Buggy, but what does Buggy think of Shanks?

Young Buggy thinks he's fun to hang around with even when they tend to argue about the dumbest stuff. He'd never admit this to anyone but he admires Shanks' charisma and strength.

Since there's no one piece and he's not raised together with Shanks and doesn't have such a close relationship with Roger and the crew here, there is no goal for Buggy to give up on, and there's no bitter feelings caused by the "betrayal" Shanks did by not going for the goal Buggy gave up on

Some of the relationship dynamics and personalities change here in wonderland au because the factors that made them like that in the animanga aren't here to affect them

Present Buggy doesn't remember Shanks though so he just thinks the Queen is weirdly sticky and likes to give out presents for no reason, not that he's complaining 😌

For your Buggy in Wonderland AU, if Shanks is the Red Queen, when who is White Queen? Maybe Mihawk or Crocodile?

Ooh I have some lore for that!!

So originally, there was 3 main queendoms

Red, White, and Hearts

Shanks was set to be the next Red Queen after Red Queen Roger adopted him

Rosinante and Doflamingo's parents came from White and Hearts queendoms so Doffy was going to become Queen of Hearts and Rosi becomes White Queen

Rosi loves his brother but knows that Doffy isn't fit to rule Hearts queendom with how he never cares about them and he also doesn't want his role to be White Queen

He also knows that Shanks has the right to become Queen of Hearts too bc his og parents were from Hearts

So he secretly stages a coup w Shanks for him to take both roles and once everything is done, tries to destroy the White Queen throne

But then Wonderland refuses and instead shifts it into the Duchess role

On Doffy's side, he's forced to take the role of Cheshire Cat as part of the Duchess' Household, not aware that Rosi worked against him

He's incredibly mad that his birthright was taken from him but since the World actively worked against him by fully accepting Shanks as both Red Queen and Queen of Hearts, he couldn't do anything but seethe

As for Crocodile, he's the Caterpillar !! Or atleast a crocodile that calls himself a caterpillar 😂

Also, Law was meant to become the White Knight but instead was put in the role of the Duchess' Baby after the shift 😂😂

In the Buggy in Wonderland AU, If Doflamingo met Buggy when he was younger, does that also mean that Rosinante also met Buggy when he was younger? If so, does he have any positive thoughts about Buggy? What about Rosinante's thoughts on Shanks feelings/actions toward Buggy? Is he okay with it or does he think that something is a little off?

Yeah all four of them played some flamingo croquet together when they were younger (rip Rosi tho. The flamingo mallets kept acting up whenever he's around)

He's fairly neutral towards Buggy but doesn't think much abt him since he tries not to be seen associating too much with Shanks and antthing related to him because he doesn't want to risk Doffy figuring things out

He does find Shanks' obssession a little,, strange but he understands. Shanks agreed to Rosi's plans just so he could have more power and people to create a way to reach Buggy's world because he wants to meet Buggy again. He's still a much better option than Doffy though— atleast Shanks is fairly amicable and would be good at ruling while Doffy is more likely to get Wonderland destroyed

Rosi's reasonings here are flawed though since one of his main reasons not to let Doffy become queen is that his brother won't have the citizens best interest in mind and would only prioritize himself and their "family"

And this AU's Shanks is essentially the same in that he only cares for trying to find Buggy and cares about a select few (Uta, Luffy, Beckman, etc) but atleast he tries to be a good ruler ?

Crocodile is the Caterpillar yes 😂 I was torn between him and Smoker but Croco got the role in the end 😌

As for Mihawk, I'm still trying to decide if there's a role that would fit him or if he doesn't have one and is just a random citizen,,

There's no definite moment of when Shanks falls for him, I'm imagining he slowly fell during the years Buggy spent in Wonderland when they were younger 🤔 like a puppy crush that slowly morphed into obssession

Hmmm,, I guess taking over the queendoms and becoming the sole ruler of Wonderland so he can find and marry Buggy (on the off-chance he would even agree) counts?

With Doflamingo being salty over being the Cheshire Cat instead of the Queen of Hearts, how does he view Buggy? Does he find the clown interesting or annoying? Or does he see Buggy as a way to get back at Shanks? Like maybe using Buggy by kidnapping him and ransoming him to get the position of Queen of Hearts back? Or going the petty route and trying to steal Buggy from Shanks by trying to get the clown to fall in love with him? Or something else entirely?

Doffy is petty enough to try and ruin Shanks' love life by trying to make Buggy suspicious of Shanks and giving him cryptic hints that maybe he shouldn't trust Shanks at all because of all the sketchy stuff he's done when it came to Buggy

He's met Buggy before when they were younger when Shanks introduced them but Buggy doesn't remember and Doffy likes using this to mess with him

He doesn't really see Buggy as a former close friend though, he just sees him as a tool to use against Shanks in any way he could

As for the position of Queen of Hearts, he can't get it back because once Wonderland fully rejects a Queen candidate, they don't have any chance of reclaiming the throne, the other candidates still can though

As for the mad hatter, I actually planned for Sanji to be the mad hatter and Zoro as the march hare (he still gets lost on his way to their unbirthday parties even tho he attends 364 times a year 😔)

Luffy is the white rabbit yes!! I imagine his rabbit form would look as fluffy as his hair in gear 5

Luffy is also one of the tweedle twins with Ace (ik it doesn't seem to make sense but I always thought they looked really similar)

For Uta I was thinking she could be part of the royal court but I'm not sure what she'll be yet 🤔

question, does Shanks ever get jealous? What happened? And who was/is he most jealous of

Probably when Buggy talks about his life in the above world? 🤔 He's jealous of Buggy's friends from there and since this Shanks can get very possessive, he might not like it when Buggy shows any indication that he wants to leave.

I'm thinking of making Alvida, Mohji, Cabaji and Richie be part of the above world instead of wl so Buggy does have a reason to want to go back (he really would stay for the gold and jewelry though)

I can imagine two scenarios

1, Shanks lets him leave and at first, Buggy is happy to be back in his world. But as time went on, he starts to miss Wonderland and its craziness and now his own world feels so dull and boring. At one point he starts having dreams about what his life could be, if he stayed. It nearly drove him crazy until Shanks shows up and offers to bring him back

2, Shanks demands that he stays and does whatever he could to trap Buggy in their world. He even feeds him a DF, which gives any user the same effect as if they were in seawater if they try to leave Wonderland (Luffy was able to handle it fine while in Buggy's world because his role allowed it)

I’m obsessed with this AU! I wonder what you would think about a possible white queen candidate being Coby! Since Roci is a marine that is trying to reach for actually standing for justice and Coby is a representation of the future of that I thought it would be interesting! And he’s definitely a pawn for sure haha!

YES!! I thought of White being mostly the marines before the shift so Coby is a potential Queen candidate (or Duchess if White Duchy stays as is instead of rewinding back to its original positions)

Also

Sengoku - prev White Queen

Garp - prev White King (Kings can be anyone regardless of their other roles because the King title basically just means the Queen's consort)

I don't think that its been shown or not, but does Shanks have both arms or only one arm in the Buggy in Wonderland AU?

He still lost his arm to save Luffy a few years after Buggy stopped showing up when they were younger

He can form a new arm made out of rose vines to hold Buggy but he doesn't do this often outside of that

As for his scar, instead of Blackbeard, maybe a certain cat caused it in this au 🤔

Are Ace and Sabo in the Buggy in Wonderland AU? And if so, what are their roles? Like is Ace a queen candidate (since Roger is his father and all)?

Yeah they're here! Im thinking that not everyone born from the Queens and Kings are not necessarily Queen candidates and there are candidates born outside of the main royal families. So Ace is a Rook and Sabo came from Hearts queendom so he's a Jack of Hearts (Ace wouldve been Ace of Hearts if he came from Hearts lmao). They're also Tweedle Triplets with Luffy after Wonderland gave this title when they became brothers.

Also later on after Luffy gains the role of White Rabbit, the Tweedle Triplet role made it so that Ace and Sabo end up becoming rabbits too (they cant share df powers or roles that were received before this though)

So tldr:

Tweedle triplet ■

Sabo :

Jack of Hearts ♡

Also unrelated but for Luffy's family situation, Garp brought Luffy to Wonderland when Luffy was very young. Luffy became part of Red queendom after Shanks adopted him and he became a Red Pawn. Some time around this or before that, Garp marries Senny and he becomes White King. A few years later they retire, the shift happens and now Garp and Senny are part of the White Duchy and the chess roles of White are dissolved

Is Luffy a Queen candidate? Like he's using the straw hat now and since Roger used it and was the past Queen, then Shanks. I'm just curious about how that works in your universe.

After Shanks is done with his reign, yes. The strawhat isn't really an official indicator that he'll be the heir, it's probably just a funny coincidence that they keep passing down the strawhat to the next Queen 😂

Since Red Queen and Queen of Hearts are still two separate roles, Luffy would probably aim for one and someone else gets the other and both kingdoms will be back to being separate

Though I don't know what will happen with the White duchy 🤔 maybe its Duchess role morphs itself back to being a Queen, maybe it stays its own thing, who knows

Wonderland is always shifting and changing but seems to stay the same simultaneously ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

about the Wonderland Au. I was wondering if any of the characters have any kind of magic we already see Luffy has a rabbit, but can he turn human if he wants? and what about Shanks? Does he have any kind of magic that he puts to use to hopefully draw Buggy there.

Yes Luffy can turn back into a human but only in Wonderland and as for Shanks, who knows 🫣

If they have a WL role then they get the magic based on that role. For example, Law has the Duchess' Baby role and he can make his form regress from his current age to any stage that's younger and then go back, Doffy gained cat features and could teleport when he became the Cheshire Cat

Also some roles are simply just titles and there's no magic that comes with it though 😔

In addition to the magic and stuff, everyone has their canon DF except for Buggy who will get his later on

Sanji is the Mad Hatter and as for Usopp and Mihawk, I'm still marinating some ideas in my head to figure out how they and the other characters would be in the plot

Law was meant to be the White Knight to Rosi's White Queen before their roles shifted to the Duchess' Baby and the Duchess respectively (law isnt actually a baby by present time but I thought it'd be hilarious if he gets embarassed whenever he has to introduce himself w this role)
