Fight - War of Words (Surprise find)
So last week I had time to visit neighbouring city's library! I noticed that they had a rack of CDs on sale, that they wanted to get rid of. "Removal sale", 1 euro per CD.
I browsed the selection. Some Finnish pop. Classical music. Nothing super interesting until I saw this:

FIght's War of Words album! Wohooo!
Why was I so excited? I used to listen metal music during my late teens to late 20's. My passion especially was Judas Priest. Nowadays I really wonder why I chose them as my passion. Popular, yet not as popular as Iron Maiden? Vocals? Something?
I also became intrested, when I looked what other material Judas Priest members had done. Rob Halford, the most notable singer of the band, had some projects going on.
In the early 90's, Halford left the band for several reasons. First band project he did was Fight, inspired by emerging groove metal scene, with some heavy and thrash metal influences.
I had mostly listened the singles from the album (Into the Pit, Nailed to the Gun, Immortal Sin), but never listened the album from beginning to the end. I always wanted to get the album, but never got around to it. I eventually went back to synth music, although I still listen metal from time to time.
So how was the album? Well, it's quite different metal than I'm used to. Chugging, distortion to the max. Not bad at all. Good album.
Probably my favourite song ended up being For All Eternity. Which happens to be most " (Judas) Priest-like" song on the album. Melancholic. Regret. Pain. Have to agree with one YouTube comment. Halford does very performances when singing about melancholic subject. Kind of underrated, like when I think songs like "Touch of Evil" or "Beyond the Realms of Death". He has kind of a raw voice in For All Eternity. And those high pitched screams, when he still was in his prime, so nice :D

Live performance from 1993, so good. Kind of prefer this to the album version. Bit silly to see Halford in shorts and a cab, looking so hip. He was in his early 40's at the time. But seems like he enjoyed himself back then.
I also got an another classic album from the library. One I didn't really listen, although I remember one song so well :D
