Vance is brutally honest with people and he is not afraid to tell it how it is, unless it’s about his own self and insecurities. But Griffin and Gwen (mainly Gwen) idolize him because he’s a no nonsense, loud, brute who doesn’t care what anyone says about him and they eat that shit up. But in your ask I also think they appreciate that honesty is because, one: one has gotten kidnapped and was lied to that entire kidnapping, and two: I just don’t think anyone would like a liar. But I find it funny how Vance has no clue as to why these kids look up to him/ like him so much. It’s honestly baffling to him and almost worries him.
