i just wanted to slap down a couple of bullet points i’ve blurbed on discord about the fictional town me and draven are building for our new ocs so !! maybe after reading this you’d be interested in adding on to the world or even making an oc to accompany it / make a verse for your existing character that would be so dope !! here’s the pinterest page we made for the overall vibes for st. margaret right HERE
𝗪𝗘𝗟𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘 ! to st. margaret, louisiana. population of 6,066 people. 𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘫𝘰𝘺 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘺.
st. margaret is a fictional town set in the state of louisiana. founded in 1754, long before the land had been deemed under that of the bayou state, it used to go under the name the great oaks. once louisiana had been founded, great oaks had it's name changed to that of st. margaret. it's population heavily fluctuates, but it never strays very far and the most recurring number is 6,066 ( very on the nose ). it is very reminiscent of derry, maine and other small towns of it's likeness ; mostly filled with bible thumpers and pretty much everybody knows everyone, some way or another. your family has lived here for generations, and you're the one that swears you're gonna get out.
and there’s just something wrong with the town. like you enter it and you’re just filled with fucking dread. like there’s something bigger afoot here and it’s definitely a place that feels like it’s stuck in time. it’s set in the modern time but it feels like you just walked into the 1960s. time just completely stands still in st. margaret.
there’s definitely going to be supernatural elements that’s like ... haunting the town, and that’s why it feels so very wrong. definitely going to be bloodshed, but we haven’t figured it out yet. the vague idea i came up with is that The Big Bad is a sort of black mass with the head of a cattle’s skull. so it’s just very off-putting to say the least.
overall just a very deserted ghost town, southern gothic inspired. after 9 pm the town is just silent to the point you can hear the creek and the forest and it’s sooo creepy. the vibes of the town is very much a mixture of derry, maine from it and wind gap from sharp objects
