Reposting the Kai lore here just cause I can,, quick info/ other stuffs I forgot to add:

Kai is basically a Coyote fanboy oc that I made back in I think… August??

Yea.

Kai’s name was thought of from the way Coyote’s name was pronounced. The two sound very similar.

His full name is Kai Odie.

Kai was born on the 15th of the 5th. Idk what year tho.

Also some of my ocs timeline and Kai’s timeline aren’t the same,, there’s other timelines out there but they all still have zombies in them.

The timeline takes place before it died took place around the 1990s-2011.

Kai has also somewhat improved as a person,, he’s pretty chill nowadays…I guess. I mean,, less mean that’s for sure.

He beefs with ppl/things a lot tho,, it’s literally ez to get Kai to hate u,, u could be a Taylor Swift fan and he’d hate u for that. 😭

Kai is basically pretty friendly tho,, sure. He murdered a bunch of zombies and possibly people but that was out of self defence. He wouldn’t murder anyone on purpose, unless it’s Midnight Shadow or it’s someone that wants to harm him.

Kai wore glasses when he was a kid due to poor eye sight (not being able to see from distances) until he was a teen,, which he just started wearing contacts (even tho it’s semi dangerous to wear those) …this did somewhat give him the reputation of him being the “smart nerdy” guy but he later proved them wrong.

Kai’s also deaf as well,, he wears a hearing aid although it’s unnoticeable. He got this from putting his headphones on max volume and plus other people playing loud audio/screaming into his ear when he was a kid. O and he knows how to read lips as well and he knows sign language. (He didnt get the hearing aid until he was 17,, his parents thought he was deaf because of the fact he had a hard time hearing them directly unless they yelled sooo yea) Kai also just turned off his hearing aid whenever he didn’t want to hear sum however with the zombie apocalypse he kept that on 24/7 cause he didn’t want to risk not hearing sum and dying from it.

Kai also wears earrings, he used to wear black earrings but now he wears cherry earrings, the only reason why he’s wearing cherry earrings of all things is because of Coyote.

Kai actually also has a tattoo on his back where it’s just Coyote’s name in a rlly rlly fancy goth font. Forgot the name but yea. No one knows about it except for Coyote. They actually got the tattoo together and have matching tattoos.

Kai has average strength, sometimes it works out in his favour, sometimes it does not. Mainly depends on who he’s fighting though.

when Kais Mom first saw that Kai dyed his hair gave himself whatever that pink and blue thingy is called that covers his other eye she tried cutting it off however Kai just kept on refusing to do so, which ended up with him getting grounded and Kai’s Mom kept on trying to convince him to get rid of but no matter what she said he just kept it. Which,, made her rlly mad and her hatred for Kai only grew more and more the more she looked at him. Kai’s Dad however just didn’t care and eventually convinced Kai’s Mom to just let him do whatever he wants since he thought that if he was happy then he’d get better grades (very weird logic god damn) and so she did. But she still secretly hated him. (Kai’s Dad was also old and just simply did not give a fuck about what happened anymore. The Mom was also old but she had more care then the dad did.)

But however there was a deal,, Kai can keep the eye cover thingy if he only put it in a feminine ponytail or pigtail/kept the hair rlly long and he agreed. This deal was made by Kai’s Mom and she did it behind the Dads back.

O yea speaking of that,, during the apocalypse in his timeline, while he was asleep he was attacked by a zombie and he got half of his face infected. He was able to cure it tho. Gud thing it was where the eye cover thingy was so it’s ez to hide.

ok so the only thing that’s different here is that instead of Coyote being the traitor it’s Kai.

The deal in question (and betrayal) basically went like this:

Shadow:

“I’ll get u out of here if u help me make deep night strong and stuff.”

Kai:

“ok 👍”

Kai:

“I change my mind I hate u I hope u die.”

Now,, Kai didn’t intend or plan to explode the place on purpose. He wanted to keep the cabin in shape however with the way Midnight Shadow planned it all out he had no choice, he had to explode the place with what he had on him to try to kill Midnight Shadow.

When Murch found out that Kai betrayed him he basically just started hating on Kai and being a big meanie to him and Coyote had to go and defend him every time but that only just made Murch hate the both of them. Except,, not only is it hatred from the betrayal. It’s jealousy.

He secretly wants Coyote, but with Kai being there for Coyote more then he himself is. He grew jealous of him.

Apple working on its own search engine for the iPhone

Apple would as of now be building up its own internet search engine for the iPhone. And would replace Google as the default internet search engine, as per the Financial Times.

Half a month back it found that Google and Apple had a multi-million dollar agreement. Whereby the previous paid the last for having the default most utilized search engine on iPhones. A move that of course can also be considered an anti-competitive practice by Google. Apple might want to maintain a strategic distance from this by building up its own search engine.

According to the Financial Times, Apple is currently developing a search engine almost against the clock. As they are monitoring the authorities who are examining technology companies. It was very recently that Google suffered a historic lawsuit for its extremely privileged position in the online search market.

However, Apple would join the growing list of companies to stop depending on Google. Such as Huawei, which by imposition is involved in the development of its own search engine, Petal Search.

Apple will use its own search engine

These rumors were true when the hiring of John Giannandrea, Google's Artificial Intelligence team leader until 2018, went to work at Apple to improve Siri.

Hakuoki Tsukikage no Shou - Kazama Final Chapter Translation

So. [im going to swear.]

I tried doing something truly fucking insane. I wrote and copied out almost every single stupid shitty word in Chinese from the CH subbed video for this (99% of everything of this was done w/o freaking copy and pasting since it was too fucking hard to locate every stupid duplicated word that i wrote) with my mouse onto google translate (I don't have any other way to input words cuz i don't have a damn input device) before i went and translated this. 

at the time i did this, writing out every stupid shitty word was a lot fucking faster than using an ocr text extractor at the time since i kept having problems with the one i was using... and my fucking gawd did this feel soooo freaking tedious and it really did hurt my hand and arm for a while.... to the point that i’ll still complain about it despite how that was done back around the time i did the tsukikage countdown video....

i fucking demand that everyone who reads this thank me for hurting myself for the sake of getting this stupid chapter translated lol... all in all, i wrote out over 4600 stupid fucking Chinese characters of this in one sitting....

oh and i think i might have forgotten about copying some of the punctuation but idfcrn.

on that note, i also found the Hakuoki stage play with Chinese subs but I refuse to do anything with it as long as those words aren't in text since that's more than 2 hours long, and i’m not that masochistic or insane xD. if anyone wants to volunteer as tribute though to copy/isolate the text though that’s another matter. 

also i had to go read up on more damn history than i'd have liked to in order to translate this damn thing cuz i couldn't understand several words in Chinese since they were Japanese terms which made doing this even annoying since that meant extra work for me to do... and omfg i hated writing this out despite the fact that doing so did save me a significant amount of time cuz I was still pretty bad at using photoshop when i did this...  though I can definitely say that this will be the absolute fucking first and last chapter of anything that i’ll ever write out again since i can say that my photoshop skills have improved enough so that i can extract text at a significantly faster pace and with more accuracy...

images used in this post were snips of the some video of the chapter aside from the last 2 which were from the cgs i posted a loooong while back.

Six years later after what later generations would refer to the "Boshin War." Chikage-san took me away to live at his village within the Satsuma Domain. This is a story of what happened 5 years after I married into the Kazama family.

Presumably my answer probably surprised him since Chikage-san's eyes widened......

After entering the Meiji era, former samurai are now referred to as "shizoku"...... No longer able to receive an official's salary, I've heard that they have had difficulties in securing their livelihoods.

Kazama Chikage: Come on...... let's walk for a while.

So, as long as I'm alive, I will always support him.

maybe i’ll go translate yamazaki’s final tsukikage no shou chapter... in like 2 years. or something. if someone hasn’t done it by then. lol. unfortunately, tsukikage is not on my priority list since 95% of what CH TL I’ve seen is only available as videos... and while I’d very much prefer to translate Saito’s ginse no shou route, the only thing that I’ve found with CH TL so far is a short clip from the 2nd common route chapter.... plus, i still have ssl to worry about... and even then, there are some dramas that i really wanted translated along with the rest of kyoka-roku... 

final edits will be done when i start caring about them... later.

also this is chapter 8 for kazama’s route. each route in tsukikage and ginsei no shou has their own unique ending music.

In the first three months of 2019, YouTube said it removed 89,968 videos that “violated its violent extremism policy.” The question remains, is what we are finding in Arabic the remaining one percent that has not been reported or automatically detected? Most likely both. How large is that one percent, especially in terms of how much content is uploaded to both sites, not only in a day, but in any given hour? YouTube similarly contends that “90 percent of violent extremist videos that were uploaded and removed in the past six months were removed before receiving a single human flag, and of those, 88 percent had fewer than ten views .”

It’s evident that much of the effort of social media platforms has been on English language content, however, the inability to detect clearly defined terrorist content in Arabic, the digital sphere’s fastest growing language, is a gaping hole for the companies. YouTube and Facebook should update their manual and automated Arabic language detection efforts to ensure legacy terrorist content no longer festers across their platforms. This should include the basics. Arabic names of al Qaeda and ISIS ideologues, and the titles of terrorist strategies, pamphlets, books, and films. While the platforms have been diligent at removing some English-language terrorist content, the same approach has yet to be reproduced in Arabic. Until that basic level of detection is instituted, terrorist content will, in the words of the infamous ISIS refrain, “ bakiya, bakiya, bakiya, or remain, remain, remain.”

Will the spread of fake news improve or get worse?

The spread of fake news  in todays media, has an huge impact on the daily lives of people. With the constant amount of fake stories popping up on the internet, the proliferation of it is increasing at this point. Topics such as politics serve as great tools for fake news. The presence of fake news on social media speaks to the personals of the users and what they are drawn to. As far as I'm concerned the future of fake news will involve it continuing and getting worse with the way people take in information.  

With the advancement of technology there has been a lot of fake news put out there. it seems that with outlets like twitter, fake news reaches more people than the truth does. Researchers have looked upon something called the “rumor cascades” where a rumor beginning on twitter about  a certain topic  gets constantly retweeted. A lot of researchers fact check some of the tweets to see if these are true stories that are spreading. a study showed that it is 70 percent  more likely for fake news to travel than true stories(niemanlab.org). It is found that false news runs deeper in all types of information throughout the news. Political news tends to spread the most false news than any category, whether it be Terrorism, urban legends, attacks, science, or disasters.Researchers found out that the key to false news spreading is the idea that real people are the cause of it and bots are not.(Motherjones.com). It is usually an ordinary person that repost the false information and with the growth of social media, millions upon millions people receive fake rumors. There is an example of how Russians and different people on the internet use it as a place to put out false narratives on political views and figures. 

One example of false news and how it works, is the past presidential election with Donald Trump. In 2016 many messages and rumors were going back and forth on Facebook and social media about the election. There were some fabricated stories published on thought to be credible sites. some of the stories read things like Hilary Clinton selling weapons to Isis or scoops like Pope Francis endorsing trump. Those headlines ended up going viral on social media in the final days of the election (PSMG.COM). Trump has a big following on twitter and with his election he has been referring to fake news  a lot and it seems like anything he disagrees with he labels fake news. It is concerning on how trump can use social media to promote himself and tap into the emotions and circumstances of people and possibly manipulate them. In this case the promotion of fake news helped him win. 

Another specific example of how fake news can have a deep impact on people is the constant sharing of Articles that are scary: For example the ebola crisis in 2014. A lot of headlines were publish to put fear in the Everyday American.Such articles as “Texas Town Quarantined After Family Of Five Test Positive For The Ebola Virus” came with a feel of a

uthencity  because of short videos attached and the authors. When everything all of a sudden died down it was found that it was only one death found in the USA during the entire time people were worried. (PBS.ORG). The Constant spread of news such as the ebola virus displays how Americans can get startled over any caption they read that seems to be true, but its not. This state of shock and fear causes Americans to continue to share this information. 

One impact of Fake news is it will amplify Digital distrust which Pew Research describes as emotions such as fear and shock, and anger interfering with the online use and causing divisions and doubts. The growth of technology and social media has made it to where one stamens can be shared and get almost everyone online in fear. Fake news is expected to spread more in the future because of the different enhancements in the technology world such as video and audio manipulation. Fake news will harm the outputs of people on the internet and cause a divide in views even more. 

Pew researchers asked the question will the environment of information improve. “51 % of the population said that it will not improve. The people who had this opinion mostly thought that the basic human instincts such as the quest for power and success will make the information proliferated worse in the next decade. This article stated “They predicted a future information landscape in which fake information crowds out reliable information. Some even foresaw a world in which widespread information scams and mass manipulation cause broad swathes of public to simply give up on being informed participants in civic life (website). This means that the amount of fake news will eventually be too much for people to handle and detect. 

There are already examples on the internet of photoshopped photos and video and audio manipulation. One example is the lip sync of Barack Obama saying a speech. these changes are made by artificial intelligence and computer graphics. There is a software being developed at Stanford university where a person can put words in a public figure’s mouth in real time. With this face 2 face software it is easy for someone to sound like figures like trump and look like them. The article “ The future of fake news: don't believe everything you read, see or hear”, states “These morphing technologies aren’t yet perfect. The facial expressions in the videos can seem a little distorted or unnatural and the voices can sound a little robotic….But given time, they will be able to faithfully recreate the sound or appearance of a person – to the point where it might be very difficult for humans to detect the fraud” (website). Being that it will be hard for people to detect what is real, the average human being online is going to get into a panic and began riffing about the videos they have seen. 

I have already began seeing how fake news can cause a big deal on social media amongst different people and i just see it continuing. For example a post can be shared about someone’s favorite athlete and everyone is getting emotional about it and arguing. An example of this is I've seen people get in serious beefs about whether Lebron James is going to join Golden state warriors just because a source on the internet said he was talking to the team. When people heard about this it was automatically the talk on Facebook and people started to run with it and get emotional about the topic. 

These changes can affect something like my field which is film making because fake stories can help sell a movie or stop people from supporting it. In a field where a person is trying to sell something, sometimes fake news can help because of the constant attention put on the product. In America it seems that Fake news continues to try to bash one side and promote another. I think in this society people will continue to try to promote fake news to be on top. 

The impact of Fake news is important to me and my family because it is beginning to shape how the country is reacting. people are acting off of emotions from fake news and presidents who run the country are basing their whole campaign off of the idea of “fake news”.Fake news has only highlighted the different aspects of the everyday user and will continue to bring out the strong emotion characteristics of people.

AI service gives 'Overwatch' players in-game coaching

A typical Overwatch match is hectic and fast-paced. You can't exactly consult strategy guides in the middle of a manic team fight to figure out the best course of action, so you've probably had to rely on your own experience and knowledge of the game. Your Overwatch decision making might be about to get a boost though, as an AI analytics service called Visor could help you improve at the team-based shooter by analyzing what's happening in real time and providing in-game contextual tips.

The service is now in open beta and Visor just raised $4.7 million in a Series A round to spur its growth -- there will be support for more games down the line, for instance. The app isn't really geared towards helping Overwatch League pros sharpen their skills. Instead, its creators told VentureBeat they hope players at all skill levels can use it to improve, one game at a time.

Visor examines every frame of your Overwatch gameplay, looking at more than 150,000 data points to figure out what's happening. It considers factors like the kill feed, ultimate charge, health, ability meters and cooldowns, audio cues and even text chat to gain an understanding of the environment.

Visor will then offer some guidance, such as noting how often your healers die at the start of team fights, prompting you to urge your team's tanks to give them more protection. It reminds you to use your Dragonblade or Self-Destruct if you've held on to your ultimate for too long. Visor looks at player positions and nudges you to attack if the other team is scattered or group up if your own team is spread too thin.

You can also see in real time just how much damage and how many eliminations you're causing per minute, as well as how quickly your own hero is dying. The app can even predict when an enemy player's ultimate is ready -- information that's not typically obvious in competitive or quick play games.

Visor, which trained its AI using half a billion frames of gameplay, starts personalizing data for you after just one game. Once your matches are complete, you can see how the stats compare with your earlier performances and find out you how much you're improving.

The service is PC-only for now, but during alpha testing, console players were able to upload videos of their matches and get feedback on how well they played. The Visor team says the service isn't considered cheating by Overwatch developer Blizzard, because it doesn't affect the game's code -- it acts like screen recording tools players typically use to share their gameplay on Twitch.

A brief test of Visor proved fruitless for me, unfortunately. The in-game tips did not show up while I played, though I suspect that's the fault of my Internet connection or my decidedly non-gaming laptop. I can only run Overwatch on low graphics settings, and to work optimally Visor needs at least 720p resolution.

Still, it's a service that holds a lot of promise for millions of players who want to get better at their favorite games. It's unclear when Visor will be available for other titles, though the creators say the platform is game-agnostic, which "allows us to quickly extend Visor to any game." So you might expect to use it to improve at Fortnite in the not-too-distant future.

The Pixel 2 proves headphone jacks are truly doomed

As usual, Apple started a trend. Last year, it dropped the standard 3.5 millimeter headphone jack from the iPhone. The industry was quick to respond. Motorola, even before the iPhone 7 was announced, also removed the port from the Moto Z (though curiously, it remained on the cheaper Z Play). HTC followed suit with the U Ultra this year, as did the geek-friendly Essential phone. Now that Google's Pixel 2 is confirmed to be headphone jack-less, it seems as if the port's survival, at least in the mobile world, is a lost cause.

The truly sad thing? A year after this trend began, we still don't have a good explanation of why we're better off without headphone jacks. Removing the port opens up a bit of precious internal space, which allowed Apple to stuff in a bigger 3D Touch module in the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. But did that actually help make 3D Touch more useful? And what have other phone makers gained, exactly, by jumping on this bandwagon? The additional room isn't enough to significantly improve battery life, and aside from the Moto Z, it hasn't led to an influx of ultra-thin designs either.

With the Pixel 2 and its larger companion, in particular, we've gained very little by losing the headphone jack. Sure, they're much more and dust resistant than the last models. But the Pixel 2's IP67 certification is something several Android phones have offered for years -- and they didn't need to lose the port to achieve it. Typically when we move away from legacy hardware, we're headed to something better. But in the case of the 3.5mm headphone port, the tech world seems to have forgotten that. Apple's joking explanation -- "courage" -- isn't enough.

I'm not blind to the benefits of wireless. My trusty BeatsX earbuds are the first pair I've used that sound almost as good as great corded headphones. And I truly appreciate being able to use them on the subway without getting tangled up in cables. But here's the thing: You don't need to remove the 3.5mm port to enjoy the benefits of Bluetooth headphones. In fact, I'm running my BeatsX on an iPhone 6S — the last iPhone to include the 3.5mm jack. I just like having the flexibility to freely connect my phone to auxiliary cables in cars and corded headphones without carrying around any dongles. It's 2017, that doesn't seem like too much to ask.

And not to be too cynical, but it's hard not to view the move away headphone jacks as a way for companies to push their own expensive wireless headphones. It's no coincidence that Apple's $150 AirPod's debuted alongside the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus (as did the BeatsX). Today, Google also showed off its own offering, the aptly named Pixel Buds. It's almost as if tech companies realize consumers would shell out a bit extra for wireless headphone, rather than live the dongle life.

As someone who's chosen this hill to die on, the future looks bleak. Some manufacturers, like Samsung and LG, stuck with the 3.5mm port with their latest devices. Indeed, the the LG V30 appears to be the ideal new phone for audio fanatics, thanks to its powerful HiFi DAC. A headphone jack could just end up being a niche feature that some manufacturers use to entice geeks. But that doesn't help iPhone users who want to upgrade this year, or Android fans who want the purest experience possible with Google's Pixel phones.

It was easy for me to skip the iPhone 7 last year, as it was only a minor improvement over the 6S. But with the new design of the iPhone X, as well as its improved cameras, it'll be hard for me to stay away. And even if I were to make the leap to Android, I'm just as tempted by the Pixel 2 as I am by the Galaxy S8. As much as I'd like to stick with the headphone jack, it's only a matter of time until I'm tempted away. I just wish we had a good reason for moving away from the most widely supported port ever. No dongle will stop me from being resentful over that.
