#doctor sleep #(re)watched th movie but w the directors cut version. and god i love him so much he deserves everything. #reading the novel did not give me the sense of satisfaction i wanted even though he survives at the end #oh also i broke my promise to myself and i watched the shining and i did not like it HGSJLDKHFKAJD #but it did heighten my viewing experience of doctor sleep directors cut. so theres that i guess #i know that they went hard w the dan and jack parallels but the dan and wendy parallels really hit better for me #him goin up the stairs w the axe like his mom w the bat. defending abra from rose like wendy protected him from jack. i cry and i sob #i think actually the dan and jack parallels are interesting specifically through the lens of how dan chooses to be different #he chooses to be a better person than his father. at SO many turns. #i just. ahhgghghhghg. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
