hmmmm... okay uh - what did you have to do for cyan to make him owe you a favor?

She looks surprised, but then looks around. "Is 'not sure' an okay answer if I'm actually not sure?" Cyan flutters over, landing on their shoulder. "I can answer that for you." "...Alright. I guess you'd know better than I would."

"I suppose I should start in the beginning. My siblings and I came to the Mortal Realm to collect the shed needles from the Tree of Life, as we do every year. Normally, they are simply lying around for us to find, or in the hands of scouts for The Dealmaker, so we chased down Shy Anon when we had found them with two of the three Life Needles. There was a problem, though, when we were trying to get the Needles back. You see, while these Needles do grant power to their bearers, they also cause a lack of stability in form. They become goopy and almost liquid. With two Needles, they had become capable of morphing their body into a container for one of the Needles while carrying the other. The removal of one Needle would cause their body to reject the second, expelling it, but we were only capable of breaking their link to it without distancing them from it. This is where Helico helped us. She carried it away while we kept them from going after it. Without them, we would be unable to return home. That, or we would have had to cause irreparable damage to Shy Anon to get the Needle out."

There is a moment of silence from the corner of the room that Cyan came from, before... "...what." "...What?" "Is that why Shy Anon has been avoiding all of us? Because you've been terrorizing them this whole time beforehand? Are you kidding me, Iere?" "I... thought we had to. It was all I knew to do." "You could have talked to them, Iri. You and I both know that. I know you're under stress, and maybe that's been getting to you, but you can't just take that out on random people, even if it means we'd be here for longer." "...I was just worried about you." "I know. I'm worried about you, too. But please..." they mutter in... seemingly a different language? "Just make sure you don't hurt people over such small things."

Cyan and Yellow flutter slowly back to the basket, seemingly to talk things over with the rest of their siblings. A heavy silence weighs over the table, but Cube and Lycan come over with snacks to break it. "Who are we on now?" Lycan asks.

You can't hear what's going on in there before they come back and walk silently back to where they were before. "Cyan?" they ask. "How do we get rid of these?" "That's not really under any of our powers to do..." "But it is part of what the others can do!" Yellow gestures towards you and your fellow anon peers.

Cube seems startled and concerned about the sudden appearance of so many more spots. "You know, I was thinking maybe they weren't contagious," Cube says, "but with this behavior and their already-mentioned lack of methods keeping them ingrained, I really don't know what they are." They go back to the kitchen drawers and pull out a pair of gloves before brushing your new specks into a bag.

"Lets just hope this doesn't get worse." Cube could see a cyan spot on purmond's hand.

They carefully pick the little spot off of your hand, and hold it up. "The best way is to keep these little ones from going anywhere else," they say. They stick the little mushrooms and tiny spots they could remove into a little see-through bag. "Fortunately, with no mycelium to grip with, these shouldn't be stuck onto anyone too much. Who knows, maybe I can use them for something. If they're not too infectious, I could even give them back to Lycan afterwards." They turn to Lycan. "You did say they remind you of home, right?" "Yeah, but the ones from home were part of the lichen, I think," Lycan explains. "They didn't do anything to us, they just weakened the walls some." "Hm..."

Cyan, Yellow, Green, and Orange are still watching intently, although not so much as they were before. Or maybe they're just waiting it out...

"I go for 1 second, and now lycan has mushrooms growing on them!?"

The quadruplets are staring at you from their basket. They keep shushing each other. Seems they want whatever it is to play out on its own. "Reminds me of my old home, at least?" Lycan says. Cube begins investigating the brightly colored specks and lumps across their friend's face. They tug on a few of the smaller ones, which pop out easily but keep glowing, like magic. They tap their chin. "I'm not sure what this is," they say. Lycan slumps slightly, disappointed. "It's not the fungus you'd be used to, as those only come in this cyan and the obvious pink," Cube continues, "but it's very strange. These don't seem to have any proper hyphae, just their fruiting body. It's like if a plant had the tiniest of roots but lived on the windiest of cliffs. It shouldn't exist."

Cube opens the door, and Lycan comes in along with Cyan's siblings. Lycan is about to shout when Helico shushes them, pointing up towards Shy Anon. He and the other three each grab one of the four Kitkats waiting near the door.

Kitkats are summoned for pretty much everyone present. Blixer's bounces off of the brush in his hand once before he scrambles to catch it, but Cyan's bonks him on the head. Cube and Shipley's both land on the counter, and Helico's lands on the main table. The anons also receive one Kitkat each. Four more falls onto the bookcase shelf. ...Someone's knocking on the door.

A Story From Before The Anons.

The transition from the Fae Realm to the Mortal Realm is a long one, sometimes. The quartet knew that well, having travelled between worlds once every year for the precious needles. It was also a dangerous one. The Dealmaker often dropped in her lackeys and minions around now. They fought in the realmstream, the transition of in between. Instead it was… strangely lonely, with only the four siblings inside. The quiet settled in for a little. Then, Yellow spoke. "We know where they fell, right?" she asked. "Of course," Green answered. "We always do." "Ok, good," the triangular fae sighed. Orange hesitated. "…Is it quiet for anyone else?" they asked. "Yeah, aren't there normally other people in here with us?" Yellow looked around. They didn't see anyone… but that didn't mean much. "It's okay, everyone," Cyan said. "If they're coming, we'll see them. If not, all the better." Yellow and Orange were still antsy, and everyone began growing impatient. "There's never anything to do in here," Orange said. "I know, right?" Yellow complained. "It's like whoever made this just didn't think this through!" "That's our ancestors you're talking about--" Cyan was cut off as a blast of pink energy just missed him. "Attackers!" the little square yelled. The small swarm spread out, directing a subset of the blasts towards separate areas in the stream. They dashed and dived in the realmstream, watching the blasts burst on the edges of the stream. Cyan was first to reach the shield left in the stream. A common problem needs an easy solution, after all. The other three hid behind him. "The exit should be coming up soon," Green whispered to the others. He didn't want their enemies to hear. "We'll all fly out together, right?" Orange asked. "Yes, of course," Yellow said. "In the meantime, though, we will wait here, together." And so they did.

Orange nods. "I could do that as well, if we have room for it." "Green and I are both fast enough, so we should be able to find a place quickly enough." Lycan smiles. "Alright, in we go!" You all wave at Blixer as he passes by (seems he's finished packing for this) before you head in.

"Ok, then. Let's go, everyone!" Cyan goes with Cube, Shy, and Blue. Green, Yellow, and Orange go with Lycan and Chompy. Helico, Ship, and Lycan are all going home to get their things for the sleepover, while Cube heads home to prepare their house for it. Blixer will be joining Cube at their house sooner than the others, since he went home first.

You, Cyan, Green, and Ship all find yourselves at that same clearing from before, with the grass, trees, bushes, and the cave with the glowing crystals. Helico isn't far behind you, but she's hanging back a little, protective of the small Fae in her hands. Yellow is the first of the others to see you all, and the first thing of note to her is... "You brought the Triangles!" "Yes, that we did. We had a minor hiccup in retrieving them, but hopefully that shouldn't interfere. You broke the news to Orange, I hope?" "Yep. I figured it'd take a while, and even if you got it in time for night, you couldn't be back in time to head home. So, where're we staying the night?" "I'd let ye all over t' my home were it not fer my fam'ly back there," Ship says. "Th' twins ain't old 'nuff fer titles like ours." "And you all know how my parents are with magic..." Helico adds.

Cube looks to the quadruplets, who have since grouped together in their reunion. "Well, we can't have you out in the cold tonight. I've got the most room of all of us. I'll just have to make guests of you all." Cyan looks to them. "I don't know that I can take that favor without paying you back for it. Is there any kind of work you might have me do? Any kind of service, or maybe some kind of wish?" "Ah, that's right. Fae work in favor of each other, don't they?" Cube looks thoughtful for a few moments, before looking back to the fair folk in front of them. "I suppose, then... I'd like to see the Fae Realm with my friends. Maybe you could take us back with you tomorrow."

"That--" "Sounds perfect, actually." "Green!" "What? It gives us the chance to make up for Helico's favor and Cube's upcoming favor at the same time!" "I guess, but--" "You owe Helico? For what?" "She helped us get one of the Triangles." "...I could always pick a different wish, if you'd prefer," Cube suggested. "I think it sounds fine, actually." "...Well, then. I guess that's two of three. Yellow?" "Three of four." Cyan sighs. "...Alright, fine. We'll take you up on your offer." "Great!" Cube smiles. "Let's head home, then."

I fly to the siblings. "So, now that you have two, and soon three if we can convince Shy, what's your plan now?" -Bluw

"We've actually got three, once we meet back up with Yellow and Orange." Cyan holds up the Triangle he pulled from Shy's bag earlier. Green carries the Triangle that Helico almost dropped while carrying Shy. "From there, the plan is simple. We will head back to our Realm with the Triangles to hold them there." "However, we will need a place to stay the night, as we shouldn't return in the dark. There are likely enemies of ours awaiting our arrival. They usually are, around this time." "You have a point, but we don't want to owe two favors. We'll have to find shelter for ourselves, or at least find a way to keep it even." Green nods.

"I don't know that Orange will be happy that we can't return home yet." "Maybe not, but hopefully Yellow has broken it to her by now. We've been out for a while, and I'd be surprised if they both haven't realized it by now."

A few hundred feet away, some little gray and blue blurry thing zooms by, through the trees. Blixer and Lycan give it a glance. The quadruplets are the most focused on it, but most of them return back to moving onwards. Cyan turns in the direction it went, watching... He then sighs. "Change of plans," they say, "I'm going after that." He flies off after whatever it was. Green looks at them as they leave, looks back at the group, then begins his part in the chase as well.

Yellow, Orange, Blixer, Lycan, and Cube are going to keep going. Cyan and Green are chasing something. Ship and Helico seem uncertain. Where do you plan to go?
