sleeping habits ,

residence: verse dependent. china, japan, USA. most of the time she travels so often that it is a hotel room | inn or with a friend. 

type  of  bed:  queen or king. though she isn’t that picky, tbh she likes futons.

number  of  blankets: one. 

number  of  pillows:  two. 

type  of  clothing:  she will most likely sleep in the nude, if she is by herself or with someone she trusts like a SO. otherwise, a baggy tee-shirt that covers up to her thighs, because she gets too hot at night.  

does  they  sleep  with  company ?   mulan does not sleep well when alone. she will sleep 1-3 hours at max. When with a SO she feels safe enough and will sleep for a longer period of time because she is curled into them.

does  it  matter  where  he/she sleeps?  because of her poor sleeping habits, nope. if she finds a place she feels comfy enough to nap she will. she isn’t pick on where she sleeps either. 

what  does  they do  if  she  cannot  fall  asleep ?  mulan tends to draw, practice martial arts, in modern verses she will watch a drama just to keep herself busy or go outside and stare at the moon. 

frequent  dreams  /  nightmares:  mulan suffers from nightmares. its why she doesn’t sleep as much. in modern times, its memories & horrors from her past lives. other then that she often dreams of those who have passed by her hands in war & battles. but when she does have a good night sleep, she will dream of the good past lifetimes and will often keep a dream journal of these events. 

deep  slumber  or  naps ?  naps. she often enjoys naps more because less of a chance of dreams happening. 

when  does  they sleep ?  when someone either drags her butt to bed, or around 3am or later. it just depends. 

what  could  wake  they up ?  mulan is an extremely light sleeper, who btw sleeps with a knife under her pillow when she is by herself, so fair warning. the slightest noise wakes her; phone, footsteps, talking, shifts in the bed, etc. 

early  or  later  riser ?  early. she likes to start off her morning with some sort of stretching before grabbing tea and starting her day.

i uhh am not sure about the amazingly talented part lol because i pretty much question everything i write all the time. but i am so grateful that you love on my girl && give her so many of your muse’s love too !!

i really try my best to give Mulan the best i can give. i go out of my way to research not only chinese culture, history && lore, but to make sure i brush up on my knowledge of her. watch films in relation to her, but also too take at look at various chinese drama’s ( cdrama’s ) for inspiration. so many of those things really kind of mold together as well as a TON of researched done on the phoenix aka the Fènghuáng. 

research is my biggest inspiration, as well as those of whom i write with. a lot of the time, we pull lore together from different cultures, inspiration from various, films, tv && book series, but also too, if we see a meme or song we really like and expand on it to create multiple universes. 

i am super blessed to have amazing RP partners that help me get into the zone and keep me inspired on the daily to give love && inspiration to my girl here. 

i have touched upon the music before so i won’t go into too much details, but i do take a lot of inspirations from historical cdrama’s that help me better expand on the culture ( though of course, cannot always take it too seriously because not always accurate, aka the research on the culture parts ). 

but yeah, all in all its a multitude of various aspects, patients. time && naturally love of the muse that inspires me to write her as often as i do, a lot of it lately has been on discord though bc of energy lol

🌸┊ 4: Which season of the year does your character identify with ?

Mulan is a huge fan of spring and summer. she was born in the spring and loves the    𝐁𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐒.     to her there is something about the way that they rebirth speaks to her, especially considering the phoenix and the meaning behind it. but she truly loves the warmth that the summer brings, the fact she can stay outside late into the hours &&  it stays bright for a long while. she loves the bonfires and exploring nature -- - so really because of the temperatures and the longer days make her really excited. 

but its funny, she also loves the other two seasons, because each of it has an unspoken appeal to it for her, && she finds herself loving the adventures it brings. but as far as the SEASON she identity's with, it would be spring, because of her name’s meaning, the month she was born in && the fact that she loves to lather herself in the scent of cherry & lotus blossoms.

Her all time favorite snack is something i completely blame Upa ( @skjebne​​ ) and that is    𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐘 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃.    she had ONE try of it and got hooked && if he makes it for her ?? she is in pure heaven. 

another i won’t lie is a chinese snack called: tanghulu which is basically is a candied fruit.

DO NOT LAUGH OKAY ??? personally i look at her and im like “CHILD YOU HAVE SO MANY ACCOMPLISHMENTS !!!” and she looks back at me, holding up her     𝐃𝐀𝐆𝐆𝐄𝐑 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍    && says    ❝  but my daggers... ❞

but no seriously, she loves her dagger collection. like she takes great pride that she gets herself a new one OR if she is lucky someone gifts her one. because to her, daggers are a work of art. she likes to collect them on her travels and hides them upon her body, taking them out in situations when she thinks its fitting. 

she loves them. she loves to show them off, to gift them, to teach others how to use them. seriously, she is so proud of her collection, that she even places them on display all around her house, && gets really excited when someone brings them up in topic.

🌸┊7: Does your character ever over-indulge ? Or habitually do something “wrong ? ” (Sneaking by the booth to get a second sample of food, maybe) 

Mulan... is complicated. she does not over-indulge on her own behalf but when giving to other people. if she sees that someone likes something, like a gift or if their eyes linger on something, she will go out of her way to go get it for them && then give it to them as a gift. 

she honestly will most likely do something wrong by mistake. I MEAN TO BE FAIR, with @skjebne​ fae boys, she gave them her name, ate the food && decided OHHH IMMA STAY. but there is also the fact that she is not exactly the most healthy person out there. while yes, she physically stays fit. she does have a bad habit of forgetting to eat, people please, until she reaches her breaking point && remembers to follow who she truly is && also has the problem of letting things bad happen to her, rather then allow someone a minor discomfort in their lives. 

all in all, while she does have a lot of positive traits, she has a habit of sometimes just not allowing herself to be true to her own inner nature && instead chooses to settle or in a way, self harm. 

🌸┊29: What animals is your character fond of ?

cat’s && dogs. i don’t make the rules, i just follow what she tells me. asking her to choose is nearly impossible && she will eventually ask for both because they are adorable && she will want to take a ton of pictures of them.

i was going to do a drabble, but then i realized it would be too painful for all involved lmao so i am going to instead answer ONE of the many memories && moments within her life that she will never forget. 

in reality, Mulan is a warrior. she was born for war, born for a destiny that she did not expect to have, nor one she would ever ask for. but the sad truth is,    𝐖𝐀𝐑 𝐈𝐒 𝐒𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆   you can never prepare yourself for, even WITH training && notice your first moments in it... can be haunting. 

Mulan will never forget any of them. each battle she has, each face of the lives TAKEN... she can see them all in her mind, replaying over && over again. she can taste it, feel it && the worst is, she relieves it, which is why it is such a struggle for her to sleep. 

She remembers her first battle, the moment before her innocence's was RUINED. she can still recall sitting on top of her horse, the    𝐃𝐑𝐔𝐌𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐖𝐀𝐑    beating behind her. she remembers the nervous energy of the men around her, the fear she felt && the pulsing of her blood within her ears. each second && breath leading up to something bigger then her. && in truth, though she told herself she can    𝐁𝐄 𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐕𝐄   she was afraid. terrified of the TRUTH about her coming to light, scared she was going to lose the people she was coming to care for. but mostly, she feared her FAILURE for what would happen to china && her family if she did not win this battle  ?

Mulan remembers that day all to well, but the first && most important was the seconds leading up to her first kill -- - to doing what she needed to not only to SURVIVE, but also too make sure her family remained safe within their home && that she did not lose, so they could continue to thrive even if it meant without her. 

Imma stop myself here because i know i could go into an entire rant about it but *lays here*

🌸 goldenrod :   does your muse believe in luck or fortune ? why or why not ?   where do they believe these things come from ? 🌸

Mulan does believe in luck, but only so much. she believes that some people are born into luck, while others must    𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐕𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐌𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐕𝐄𝐒   in order to earn it. for her own luck, she does not see herself as born lucky. 

in my canon, ( dark themes sorry ): mulan’s mother died in childbirth, which in the Chinese culture, especially around her time period, is considered    𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐔𝐍𝐄.     because of this, in my canon again, she was not a very loved child. her older sister ( please look at my headcanons ), hated her for taking away their mother. their father lost his beloved wife, but also, DESIRED a son, to which mulan was clearly not. 

because of this, she had already two things stuck against her, from her own perspective. she worked hard to try to be the PERFECT daughter, but found it difficult to focus on things such as cooking ( though she can cook in a less modern kitchen ), sowing && even learning how to be the perfect bride for an eventual arranged marriage set up by a matchmaker. 

instead, she found herself enjoying things men would like, horseback riding, reading && writing but mostly    𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐒   to where her skills showed the brightest. she knew that in this area, she showed a great deal of luck, for learning the steps && poses came naturally to her like breathing air. she enjoyed it, but mostly she WANTED to prove herself to it, until she was forced to hide her talents because of her gender. 

She is well aware that she began with very little going for her && though after proving herself as a WARRIOR && earning her place as a agent to the emperor, it took a long while for her to learn to believe in herself. she did believe that some people had better luck then she did. && strove to prove that she could make her OWN luck come forth. 

so to answer this question best, she believes that for the most part,    𝐋𝐔𝐂𝐊 𝐈𝐒 𝐌𝐀𝐃𝐄   by the will of the person && the desire to be better then what you were to begin with. 

🌸 hibiscus :   how does your muse view the gentler ,   daintier things in life ? as things worth preserving   &   caring for ,   or things only bound to wither   &   disappear ? 🌸

LOL this is the best question on here && to keep it short && simple   ?   she loves it. Mulan is a very soft person, despite being a WARRIOR who knows the pains of death && bloodshed. she enjoys being soft to those she cares for. 

Mulan in general, will usually actually never raise her voice, unless she NEEDS to. so in that aspect, she is considered to have a soft side. but for those she cares for   ?   each action she tries to take is soft, such as touching OR feeling how they are. if you see within my writing her softest side is showing to her SO && the people around her that she considers her chosen family && friends. 

in aspect of the question though, she cares for a lot of things around her. && will try to treat them in a soft gentle manner until she KNOWS she might have to give tough love. she knows that there is a chance things can WITHER && DISSAPEAR, but in reality she chooses to focus on the good that life has to offer && the time she would rather    𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐃 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐌   then focus on the loss she might have to face ( which is actually one of her greatest fears ).

🌸 holly :   how strong is your muse’s sense of intuition ? are they aware of it ? do they ever fear that it is only paranoia ? 🌸

i hate to say it, her intuition is     𝐄𝐗𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐘 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐆.   she has this... way about her of sensing the moods around her OR get a strong feeling that something big is about to happen && about to change. for the most part Mulan says it has to do with her WARRIOR ability, but in truth i write it as more then that. 

Mulan in my canon has the     𝐒𝐏𝐈𝐑𝐈𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐗    && the glory of its gifts residing in her. a lot of the time, it warns her, gives her a strong SENSE of what is happening around her. it is because of this, it just depends on the verse of whether she is aware of her gifts or not && how she chooses to go about that knowledge of it.

hahaha hahahaha THE QUESTION THAT CAN LEAVE HER CRYING LMAO !! i shouldn’t laugh, but her biggest fear is losing someone she loves, either because they chose to walk out OR for more serious sense of reasoning aka death. i would have to say upon the situation itself, especially if it was someone she loved...

🌸 sunflower :   what brings your muse the most joy in life ? 🌸

The people around her. I know this is really corny but it is true. When Mulan has someone she cares about && who cares for her for her being just herself   ?   god it makes her feel     𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐈𝐄𝐒𝐓    that she can be. Mulan loves spending time with her friends && her SO. she will go out of her way, cancel plans she should be doing just to spend a SINGLE moment with them. their joy  ?   their passions  ?    she supports every single moment of it && longs to just be their fan && to help them in anyway that she can. in truth, she just LONGS to spoil her friends the same way she feels spoiled by them just caring for her.

I won’t lie to you, she also especially in more modern verses,    𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐘   the violin && dance. i COMPARE her a lot to Lindsey Stirling for a reason because that is how she acts && moves. she likes to write inspiring pieces, though she gets a bit stage shy when live. but she loves it, dancing && having a good time while doing it, even if there is some pain involved with the training brings her great joy, especially after has has MASTERED it. 

learning    𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐒,    it does not matter what type of version, WEAPONS && MELE she loves to learn it. it brings her great joy to practice && master a skill she did not think she could. it keeps both her mind && body in shape. 

she also enjoys exploring a lot. like LOVES to travel && experience new things, new cultures && have a new prospective on life. with that of course, is her love of going out with friends && eating different types of food that she might not normally like OR foods that she just simply adores. 

&& lastly for now, praying. Mulan is a    𝐏𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐁𝐔𝐃𝐃𝐇𝐈𝐒𝐓.   she enjoys the lessons from her practice && tries her best to bring it into her every day life. taking the time to kneel before the alter, SMELLING the scents of burning incense, brings her peace of MIND && SOUL.

🌸 tulip :   how does your muse view people in general ?🌸

Mulan tries to view people in the best of light. she wants to    𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐈𝐒 𝐆𝐎𝐎𝐃    in every single soul around her && it takes actions of them to prove it. she does not view people’s words as a bad thing && the more truthful they are, the more TRUST she will give, even if it might lead her astray sometimes. she see’s the GOOD in others who fail to see it themselves && will stick by someone in their    𝐃𝐀𝐑𝐊𝐄𝐒𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐒   giving them the love && support they need. 

for those who have hurt her && or she knows she cannot trust though... she is a    𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐂𝐄 𝐓𝐎 𝐁𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐊𝐎𝐍𝐃 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇.    she does not FORGIVE other’s easily that hurt the ones she loves. && she is not above killing when necessary to make sure those she cares for remain safe. reality of the matter is, she has darkness in her, that she forces away && or will learn to accept in order to KEEP everyone she cares for safe && sound. 

but for the most part. she is a caring person who just wants to do RIGHT within the world. && accepts people for who they are, more then judging them by where they have been.   𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐊 𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐃𝐄𝐑    then words to her && if you prove yourself by what you do, you will make a lot of headway with her.
