Aurora looked up at him, dark eyes finding his. He believed it, she could see it in his features. That unwavering confidence that comes from being a good person, a good alpha. “I know.” but it was hard to truly believe. After only trusting herself and her siblings for so long, it was hard to let someone else in. Aurora wanted to try though. Derek had been good to her, and her sister and brothers since they’d arrived in town, given her no reason to think he’d hurt any of them. “I trust you.” the she wolf told him.

She tried her best to atone, but it was hard, “Maybe, maybe not.” the soft lint of her accent peeking through her words as she gave a shrug. He knew her story, knew the awful things she’d done. she shrugged, before trying to change the subject. “Does the sheriff’s boy always act like he has the right to case files?”

Aurora watched him with her arms folded over her chest. Playing sensei wasn’t exactly her favourite task in the world, but she had been raised to be an Alpha, so she was in the best position to help him. Granted her father had been a bat shit crazy alpha, but a fierce one nonetheless. “Control as an Alpha isn’t the same as control as a beta or omega. Your strength isn’t determined by your anchor, but by the strength of your pack... it’s why a lot of alpha’s go crazy turning people because they become obsessed by that rush of power.  An alpha is only as strong as the packs weakest link.”

“Silver is a big girl, and a werewolf.” Any injuries that her younger sister obtained would heal, besides, it wouldn’t be the worst events to ever happen. Silver could handle a scratch, or bite or two. “She’ll heal. You didn’t fail at anything.” Rival packs, while irritating, were a way of life, no pack was going to get on with every single pack out there. Alpha’s  had different styles and could clash in that sense.

“You did everything right.” she told him. “You tried negotiations, you tried to settle amicably. The fight where Silver got hurt? Wasn’t your fault.” no, the blame for that lay with the neighbouring alpha who couldn’t respect territory borders. Neither she, nor Silver, nor their brothers would ever lay the blame for a dickhead alpha like their neighbour attacking out of nowhere. “Frankly, he’s lucky you only killed a beta.” because she’d seen worse happen in retribution. Isaac would have been well within his right to challenge the alpha, to not just kill a beta, but go after the Alpha’s family. “And we will never judge you for standing up for the people you care about Isaac, you’re our alpha, and a part of our family not, even it not by blood.”

“She’s fine, she’s healing. Bit of a growly patient, she’s used to taking care of others, not them taking care of her.” Aurora teased lightly. “And moving is fine, who wants neighbours from hell like that anyways? Though if you wanted to stay, Lycus and Rhudi wouldn’t mind helping you drive the neighbouring pack out.”
