cain was born unto fae parents , then switched at birth with the human son of eleanor & angelo coswell - a family raising their other two children in the quiet town of corwick , iowa ; known for its past shrouded in superstition . his parents were both schoolteachers , their mother a high school english teacher & their father a band teacher for middle schoolers .

from a young age , cain was physically weak & was constantly ill . while he struggled with his health , doctors could find no medication or treatment that would help him . in & out of hospitals for easily broken bones & unexplainable complications throughout their childhood , cain’s physical health was a deep struggle for them growing up . angelo quit his teaching job once cain's medical ailments became apparent , staying home to tend & teach him .

very musically inclined , cain was nine when he first laid knowing hands an instrument . it was a piano , the young child mimicking a tune played moments earlier by his father . from this time on their father tutored him & cain quickly picked up the piano & the guitar .

cain was homeschooled until the age of fourteen , when he first entered high school . his parents were far too concerned with his health to allow him out of their sights long enough to attend six-hour school days , leaving cain with his aunt aurora during the day & effectively homeschooling him in the evenings .

ARC 1. age 17 - 19

deeply sheltered throughout their early years , parents so worried over his illness , cain enters high school having never gone to a public school prior . expecting miracles , they quickly realize the experience is going to be hell . either bullied as an easy target or pitied for being the “sick kid” , cain struggled to make friends & was viewed as a “recluse” throughout his freshman year .

fellow students’ perspectives on cain deeply shifted after cain was suspended from school for two weeks due to an incident with another student . having struck the boy out of anger ( at being bullied & therefore provoked ) , cain’s abrasive behavior didn’t stop there , perpetually putting their safety at risk to the chagrin of his parents in an effort to establish his own identity & individuality .

by the time he arrived in his sophomore year , he was efficient in the piano , guitar & violin . as they moved through high school , cain’s interest shifted deeply towards the violin . they graduated with a 3.7 GPA & what would be a full-sail ride to juilliard . all buckled up & ready to attend the finest music school in the states , tragedy strikes the year before cain leaves .

ARC 2. age 20 - 23

cain’s father suddenly passes when he’s 18 , & cain is specifically named to inherit his private journals & a generous sum of money intended for , as their father put , “ wherever his heart takes him ” .

among angelo's compositions & written music , one particular journal is nearly full of illustrations & information angelo had gathered throughout his years in corwick , interacting with the supernatural entities within the town . illustrating the different kinds of fae his father had interacted with as well as angelo’s concerns regarding cain’s heritage . within the journals , angelo leaves cain with the parting knowledge that he was a changeling . his father had suspected it for years . an array of small skeletons accompanied their father's journals , carefully arranged within glass containers ... some , humanoid - yet far too tiny to be human .

after discovering the extent of his father's devotion to his research , cain sets aside his dreams of juilliard in order to continue their father's work with the money provided ; desperate to learn more about where he came from .

ARC 3. age 24 - 26

while connecting the dots about their heritage , cain’s research veers into obsessively exploring the supposed cause of his illness & the curing of it ; coming to the conclusion that they were suffering from malnutrition due to the way his physiology is meant to be sustained versus the way a human would be .

cain becomes very invested in their research at this point in time due to the growing extent of their physical ailments . he is internally decaying & suffers extended periods of extreme pain . with no other options , cain delves into researching the more grotesque occult theories . this leads them down a rabbit hole , angelo's unfinished research indicating that human blood was the theoretical holy grail . it was different from vampires ;  less food and more of a medicine . cain does not crave it naturally , but becomes dependent upon its medicinal properties . he obtains it through an extremely close network of friends he makes while still in the states researching .

at age twenty - six , cain settles in a large city ( plot dependent , but typically baltimore ) . at this point , he’s extremely reliant upon close friends for blood & has more or less steadied his health .

no longer physically decaying , cain delves further into his music & begins work with an entertainment company to fill various positions as needed . he also consistently performs live at small gigs with friends .

extremely content with his life as he works & continues his research , cain moves from the small studio he’d gotten upon first moving to the city & finds a loft closer to the studios . occasionally having the opportunity to travel for work , cain continues his travels in this way .

ARC 4. age 27 - 34

it’s when cain is thirty that they receive the devastating news of their mother’s death . he completely breaks down , her passing being just as sudden & horrifying as his father’s years before . grief-stricken , cain refused to see any of their friends or contacts that they would typically receive blood from .

something inside of him breaks , & cain falls deeply ill . broken into a cold sweat , muscles aching & insides churning ... they were dying . out of fear & desperation at the realization , he leaves home & ultimately kills a younger man while feeding . the encounter strengthens them beyond what he’d ever experienced before , life flowing through his body without a hint of illness or pain . this feeling becomes addictive . they do their best to hide it from those they loved ... most of whom wouldn’t question them ,  just glad that they were healthier & happier than ever before .

𝟸. stranger things : wednesday  remains  the  same ,  she  still  has  her  psychic  abilities  although  they  don't  come  up  as  often .  instead ,  she  does  dabble  in  magic ,  particularly  black  magic .  she's  an  outcast  but  above  all ,  she's  looking  for  trouble  just  as  trouble  is  looking  for  her .

𝟹. hoegwarts : wednesday's  a  halfblood  –  her  father's  a  muggle  and  her  mother's  a  brilliant  witch .  the  sorting  hat  puts  her  in  slytherin  because  of  her  pride ,  self-respect ,  resourcefulness  and  determination .  there  wasn't  a  single  doubt  as  the  hat  was  placed  on  her  head  in  her  first  year after the catastrophies she's made at her previous school , ilvermorny .

𝟺. fantasy : wednesday  has  inherited  visions  from  her  mother  and  she  is  an  oracle .  however ,  she  is  possessed  by  an  unknown  spirit,  possibly  a  demon ,  so  expect  the  demon  to  slip  by  every  now  and  then . the  spirit  is  a  trickster  and  will  try  to  mess  with  both  wednesday  and  your  muse .  for  context ,  think  of  this  spirit  as  the  symbiote  venom ,  only  that  it's  less  funny  and  can  only  use  wednesday's  body  as  a  vessel .

𝟻. vampire diaries : the  addamses  are  considered  wizards  and  witches ,  although  the  truth  is ,  they  are  just  different .  meanwhile  it  is  interesting  to  delve  into  the  magical  potential  everyone  has  with  the  help  of  a  grimoire ,  they  do  not  have  any  special  abilities.  wednesday  is ,  therefore ,  human .  she  does  like  to  mess  up  with  others  and  pretend  she'd  curse  people ,  though .

𝟼. scream : one  branch  coming  from  the  main  verse ,  in  which  the  addams  are  living  in  woodsboro . wednesday  is  just  like  any  other  young  adult ,  only  that  she  supports  murder .  think  of  this  verse  wednesday  somewhat  as  what  morticia  could've  been  in  her  macabre  youth .  but  make  it  10x  worse  and  gore . this  verse  is  darker  than  the  others  and  wednesday  is  ultimately  a  villain  /  the  antagonist.

𝟽. detective : a  branch  from  the  main  verse ,  in  which  wednesday  becomes  a  crime  detective  after  graduation .  she  doesn't  plan  on  working  for  the  state ,  however  she  takes  the  matters  into  her  own  hands  and  she  has  become  a  private  investigator  focusing  on  crimes . wednesday  can  get  tangled  up  in  any  kind  of  business  –  from  murders  to  theft  to  heists  to  supernatural  stuff .  she  doesn't  have  any  magical  powers  besides  her  intuition  which  was  hardly  laboured  throughout  her  life .

𝟾. fear street : wednesday  and  pugsley  do  attend  the  camp  in  1976 .  they  do  escape  the  gruesome  murders  not  because  they  were  lucky  enough  to  get  on  that  bus ,  but  because  they  have  found  a  way  to  make  a  run  from  it  before the events just to  defy  what  their  parents  wanted .  this  is  considered  as  misfortune ,  wednesday  believing  she  should've  been  there  (she  wouldn't  have  survived) . the  addamses  live  in  shadyside ,  but  they  are  lucky  enough  to  have  inherited  money  from  their  ancestors ,  unlike  the  other  shadysiders ,  who  have  to  work  hard to make ends meet .

𝟿. unhinged : alternative  universe .  in  this  verse ,  wednesday  addams  has  a  different  take .  by  this  i  mean  that  she  dresses  up  normally  and  she's  a  very  bubbly  character .  however  the  dark  subjects  still  apply !  wednesday  addams  may  look  innocent ,  but  she  does  talk  about  heavy  topics and  she  doesn't  take  them  seriously . this  verse  is  probably  the  most  dangerous  wednesday  can  get ,  along with  the  scream  verse .  since  she  doesn't  acknowledge  the  severity  of  crimes ,  she  doesn't  think  twice  about  doing  something  she  shouldn't .  despite  her  appearance,  she  is  chaotically  evil.

𝟷𝟶. doppelganger : this verse is specifically made for all the other wednesday's out there , regardless of their prefered faceclaim ! how she stumbles upon your own wednesday will remain a mystery ; whether or not there is a more advanced civilization out there in the multiverse or a black hole that of course wednesday found and entered your universe is up to debate . one thing's certain though : these doppelgangers aren't always what they seem . and it is true what they say , that you are your worst enemy .

⠀⠀⠀ ⠀lim ryeong adorava a vida que tinha, nunca foi uma pessoa ambiciosa, vivia de maneira simples e casual ajudando sua tia de criação na fazenda em geumsan. Era dessa forma que queria trilhar seu caminho, sem muitas preocupações e com pessoas que cuidariam de si na falta de seus parentes de sangue, já que ryeong nunca os conheceu e sequer sabia se eles realmente existiam. não era algo do qual a coreana sentia falta ou carregava a curiosidade para desvendar essa ausência, queria ficar apenas ao lado das pessoas que lhe acomodaram tão bem desde jovem.

⠀⠀⠀ ⠀no entanto, algo surgiu para agitar a vida de ryeong. em meio às correspondências, uma carta dirigida à mais nova indicava um parente distante debilitado pela velhice, park hyunhee era seu nome, a avó que ryeong jamais havia ouvido falar. por um momento pensou que poderia ser algum tipo de piada contra si, já que era conhecida pela comunidade de ser uma órfã indesejada, mas o carimbo do hospital indicava que não, aquilo era real e mudaria o destino da coreana para sempre.

⠀⠀⠀ ⠀carregando seus poucos pertences e o nome de hyunhee, seguiu para seul para não só conhecê-la como também auxiliá-la na volta para casa. com uma saúde tão frágil, os médicos indicaram que a idosa fosse acompanhada e observada por um membro da família, a fim de evitar novas intercorrências e visitas ao hospital. a partir daí, ryeong começaria a morar com a senhora no haneul complex, um conjunto residencial bastante corroído pelo tempo, sendo sua única opção de moradia até então. a mais nova queria saber mais de sua história e daria o seu melhor para cuidar de sua — a partir daquele momento — avó.

⠀⠀⠀ ⠀é notável os esforços de ryeong para interagir com as pessoas ao seu redor, sempre foi uma garota muito tímida e meio assustada, trocar palavras com estranhos era seu maior desafio, até decidir que precisaria mudar. devido a essa diligência, é comum vê-la sozinha concentrada em seus afazeres ou com um fone de ouvido para evitar conversar com as pessoas, sabe que não deve fugir disso para sempre, ainda mais depois de tanto tempo, mas seu lado introvertido sempre acaba falando mais alto. isso não significa que ela está sempre de cara fechada, muito pelo contrário, ryeong tem o sorriso fácil e um jeitinho bastante acolhedor quando se sente à vontade, é educada e tranquila, capaz de fazer qualquer um dormir com sua voz serena. tem uma certa paixão por jardinagem, a faz lembrar de sua casa, por isso a melhor hora do seu dia é quando vai trabalhar na floricultura.
