April`17 【Hetalia Photoshoot】Placeholder
I was hired as a photographer for a couple of friends cosplaying in London ♥ It was a Hetalia USUK wedding themed photoshoot. I went in a sort of casual Estonia thing so I didn’t feel underdressed (and I think the people I was doing this for wanted me to cosplay as well?)

December`16
1st— Made more progress on my waistcoat for Cardverse England, I believe this is when I considered it finally finished!
3rd— Bought wigs for Lie Ren and (I think) Yūri, since I used my Kurose wig for Yūri at Hyper Japan.
7th— Tried Yūri’s wig on! ♥
10th— Did a little photoshoot with Felix, it was cut short because I was called into work suddenly because someone didn’t turn up to their shift 😒
26th— The last cosplay thing I did in 2016 was wearing my England cosplay to model for my mother’s studies (it was some sort of creative/art class thing idk). She actually wanted me to be Gaara for her but I didn’t fancy shaving my brows off and wandering the city as someone as conspicuous as Gaara 🤣

November`16
5th— I had recently gotten into “Kiss Him, Not Me” and I really like Asuma. So I did a costest for him and considered cosplaying it for the upcoming Hyper Japan ♥
I realise that I did intend to cosplay Marluxia, but I honestly wasn’t too excited by the idea and preferred to cosplay from things I was enthusiastic about.
And just like many others around this time, I had also gotten into Yūri on Ice! I had always had an interest in figure skating, one of my fondest childhood memories was going to figure skating shows with my great grandmother and mother ♥ I’ve always wanted to do it myself, but I’m too awkward and self-conscious. Maybe one day! Anyway, I began putting together one of Yūri’s exercise outfits.
I found a lighter blue shirt in a shop in town, I bought navy fabric paint and some white cord to attach to the seams.
6th— I heard Peach-Pit was going to be at the upcoming Hyper Japan, so I toyed with the idea of cosplaying Ikuto again—a specific outfit he wears in one of the episodes.
I ended up not doing it, purely because I’m actually not a huge fan of Shugo Chara, I only watched it when I was living with my sister who had the DVDs and enjoyed it 😅 So I felt like continuing to cosplay it was misleading.
10th— I bought a white studded belt that suited the outfit Ikuto wore:
15th— I bought a coat to use as a base for my Cardverse England cosplay.
I was actually looking for a black gillet for my Yūri cosplay. I couldn’t, so instead I found a black jacket I felt I could adjust into a suitable makeshift gillet until I found an actual one.
16th— I continued putting together my Yūri cosplay. I had very little time for Hyper Japan at the end of the month, so I felt pressure to get it finished on time. I found these trainers that looked kind of similar to Yūri’s.
I also found a pair of exercise trousers that looked easy enough to alter into the pair he wears in the anime.
I bought some teal fabric and matching thread for the trouser adjustments I planned to make.
I also dyed the top I found into the darker navy colour, watching the latest episode of Yūri on Ice while I did! ♥
17th— Seam-ripping the sleeves off the jacket I bought to adjust into Yūri’s gillet.
The navy dye came out pretty decently in the top I got.
I couldn’t find a suitable jacket for Kurose, so I settled for the coat I found (that I’m trying on below).
18th— I continued adjusting Yūri’s navy jacket by adding the white cord I purchased earlier in the month. It was a strong start but unfortunately didn’t finish that way 😮💨
19th— I had a bad experience with one of my trusted sellers on Ebay a couple of months prior (ordering a wig for Yūri, in fact), so I stopped trusting or having patience for anyone except Coscraft. Unfortunately, Coscraft had no suitable wigs left over for Yūri, but they did have several Dazai (I think? I’ve never gotten into the series he’s from) wigs, so I bought one with the intention of straightening it and at least using it for Kurose, and making do with it for Yūri even though it won’t be quite style right for him 😅 I actually did buy a second one of these wigs to use for Jumin because I think the fibres have the ‘bounce’ that I need to make styling Jumin’s wig easier.
As per usual, before I do any styling I always wash a new wig to shake out any loose fibres and to clean it (just like how you’re also supposed to wash new clothes and linens!)
19th— I finished adding the white bits to my top for Yūri; it’ll do!
20th— Straightening out the wig for Kurose.
& tried it on to see what I’m working with.
Finished making adjustments to Yūri’s gillet.
21st— First costest with everything mostly done! ♥
22nd— I bought a v-neck black t-shirt for Kurose, and did a costest as him as well. The wig isn’t 100% since I was using it for both Kurose and Yūri, so I settled on a halfway point between each style to make do 😅
23rd— Although I had my thick knitted green cardigan that I could make do with using for Asuma, it was pretty bulky and not 100% like the one he wears, so while I was looking for other cosplay bits (such as Yūri’s gillet), I was keeping an eye out on any green cardigans that would be slimmer to transport and a more suitable colour, and luckily I found one!
24th— Made the adjustments to my trousers ♥ All of the teal coloured bits were added on by me, I had to almost completely deconstruct the trousers I bought and reconstruct them almost from scratch to manage this.
