[WATER KISS] - our muses share an underwater kiss
Wysteria eyes watched from his place among the reef as the shadow of the row boat glided over the surface of the water. Even from that alone he knew who it was. The carved mark on the bottom of the boat just helped distinguish it from any other who might brave the waves in a small ship. No one ever did. Only one brutish idiot ever dared such tasks.
Vil pushed up with a powerful thrust of his tail to breach the surface and latched onto the side of the boat with clawed hands. Sure enough , there was that pirate captain sitting there with an arrogant smirk that often temped Vil’s desire to drown him. He might not do that , but he could do the next best thing.
“ Take a breath , brute. “ He remarks , grabbing the front of Leona’s shirt and hoisting him up and over the side of the boat. There he pulled Leona down beneath the glittering waves , his long tail swirling around them. Here fish darted like little jewels and the world was quieter in some ways - certainly muffled to someone like Leona as opposed to Vil. His hands moved up to the captain’s face , admiring the brilliant green eyes that stared back at him.
Then Vil leaned down as he saw the bubbles of air escape and pressed their lips together , drawing him into a deep kiss as well as supplying him with more air. It’d been so long since they’d last seen each other. There was a possessiveness in Vil’s grasp , a rare territorial side that flared as he pressed his form and tail against Leona’s body. It’d crossed his mind that one day , maybe Leona wouldn’t come back. But he had.
His hands moved , reacquainting with the lion’s strong jawline and over the skin and muscles. As much as he enjoyed this kiss , there was only so much before Leona would need more air than he could give. He tapped twice , a warning before he pulled away and brought them to the surface again , to both boat and the nearby little island few knew of. “ It’s been a while. “ He finally says while fixing the wet mane of the lion and easily continued to support him while they floated.

@safaerax said: I cannot keep you and I cannot let you go. // Leona and siren!vil
( DEATHLESS STARTERS )
His arms rest on the side of the tank , his tail lazily swaying in the water as he rests his head on his arms , watching Leona leaning against the side of the tank. There is no immediate response from the siren. What is he to say ? It is true. The idea of being stuck in a tank like some sort of object on display was repulsive and yet letting him go meant maybe never seeing each other again. To follow would mean risk of being caught and his crew causing him problems , let alone if word got out.
Vil reaches out , his fingers gliding through Leona’s hair in silent contemplation. “ You cannot. “ He finally speaks , seeming to share the sentiment that the captain’s words convey. “ There is loss no matter which choice is made. “ No matter how much they wished it otherwise.
“ . . . “ He gently moves his fingers to Leona’s chin , tugging the other to look towards him fully. “ But distance does not necessarily mean letting go. Unless you are so neglectful to forget things once out of immediate sight , captain ? “ He raises an eyebrow , pushing himself a bit over the edge of the tank so he was leaning down at the same level of Leona’s face. “ The solution is simple. Don’t let me go. “

@safaerax said: “ i’m gonna fucking kill them. ” // leona to vil
( PROTECTIVE PROMPTS )
It was quite the dispiriting and distressing sight to behold the siren now since the day Leona had been thrown overboard. The tank held only enough water to just barely cover all of him if Vil laid down while the siren himself was restrained and chained - a punishment inflicted after several maulings and deaths. One of many , judging on the bruises and wounds over pale skin , lacking in color just as much as his once vivid tail was now only a pastel hue. Only the slow rising and falling of Vil’s chest even indicated he was still alive , for the stillness and looks might have convinced anyone that he’d already passed if they hadn’t noticed the small detail.
Vil didn’t react to the sound or approach of someone , already braced for what was coming. Even Leona’s voice didn’t register to the siren lost in the throws of hate and hostility. Only that there was a voice near the tank , a hand reaching towards him. Vil snarled , eyes snapping open as he thrashed and attempted to bite whoever was trying to touch him with a vicious snarl despite the gag that’d stop both biting and sound. Defiance still burned as an undying candle in the siren’s eyes , a struggle to fight back despite how weak and restrained he was. Pride refused to let him simply lay down and die or become broken.
I’m gonna fucking kill them.
The voice suddenly clicked in his memory , causing Vil to freeze in his actions. No. That wasn’t possible , was it ? Slowly , as if scared he might see nothing , Vil turned his head to focus on who was on the other side of the tank.
“ Mmph ? “ ( Leona ? ) Vil stared in uncertainty at the other side of the glass before his eyes widened. He was alive. Leona had survived. Recognition replaced hate as he sank back down against the bottom of the tank and the restraints. The little stunt had costed him a lot of what little energy he had , gills flapping under the water with great effort. But his head remained partially above water , struggling to manuever as he pressed his forehead against the glass where Leona was. A weak smile tugged at his lips , reassurance a soothing balm to his suffering. Leona was okay. Evidently furious , he’d never seen the captain so furious looking. But he was alive , and that was the best news Vil had since he’d disappeared. Purple eyes partially closed as he leaned there against the glass , muscles giving out and relaxing from exhaustion.

@safaerax said: Leona can't help but grin, unwrapping the paper to reveal a beautiful vintage record player. Leona doesn't know how he'll take to it, his knowledge on sirens still small but he was learning. ' I figure you could learn some songs from land, and it might make it better when I can't be around' he says, moving to set it down carefully and close enough near the tank to allow Vil look and touch it. ' And no, I didnt steal this' // leona @ siren vil ~
Purple eyes watch with unwavering attention as the pirate reveals what the gift brought to him was. Pupils blow wide with interest , tail thumping against the side of the tank as he points. “ It plays the pleasant human noises , the instruments ! “ The siren remarks with excitement evident despite how he typically played it calm when being given gifts. “ I’ve seen some in ship wrecks, but only heard it a couple times. “
Vil leaned over the edge of the tank to look at the device with unhindered curiosity and interest. Fingers are swift to grasp towel and dry them before he reaches to touch it carefully , tracing over edges and pieces with reverent care. “ That would be interesting , many I know are only ocean related. “ Intended to lure and capture for the kill , he’d never needed more but there’d always been an interest in it. “ I want to listen. “
His attention turned towards Leona at the last remark. “ Didn’t steal it ? “ Wasn’t that how Leona got everything ? Why not this ? “ You bought it ? “ Vil asked curiosly , remaining partially hanging over the edge of the tank. His head turned back towards the record player in silence for a few moments. “ .......Thank you. “ The proud siren didn’t look at Leona , but his voice was truthful in its sincerity.

@safaerax said: guilt could be seen reflected in the captains eyes, fingers brushing away damp locks from his face as he oversaw the way Vil looked in this condition. The sound of waves brushing against the sandy shores wasn't enough to drown out the silence, the words he was looking to say. From the moment he was thrown overboard he had truly known it, how he felt. Was it silly? Would anything truly come from it? He didn't know, but he knew nothing good came from his silence.
' I should have told you sooner' he begins, his voice hushed and soft. His crew had only speculated the siren had used its tricks on him to sway him, they hadn't been wrong, but it was no siren trick. Simply him falling for the ocean's beautiful mystery. He wasn't good at this, being honest, being vulnerable and yet somehow Vil managed to swim deep and bring him up to the surface. He could feel his own heart race, ' I love you, Vil. And I know I have to let you go but before I do I just-' he didn't finish, his green lost in the siren's. Well aware that everything was laid bare within them, for Vil to see for himself, his words were true. Damp fingers moved to gently lift his chin, Vil still cradled close to his chest before his lips gently press against his, soft and delicate. // fnklsd this has honestly been in my head all day nfklds
( KISS MY MUSE )
The siren laid limp against Leona , head resting against his chest as he felt the ocean surrounding him again. It was nice to feel the welcoming embrace of the ocean again , the unrestrained water that flowed over his gills and tail once again. Although it was almost terrifying in a way when one was well aware of the dangers that lurked for an injured creature , let alone one in the state he was in. But Leona was here , tending to him despite the only pale-colored scales and fins , vibrancy gone from stress and illness and torture. It wasn’t that which had kept him here. Eyes closed feeling the hands brushing at damp strands of hair , finding some enjoyment of the moment despite his situation.
The voice that broke the silence was enough for Vil to open his eyes again , using a small amount of his energy to tip his head back to look at the pirate. “ Huh ? “ Should have told him sooner ? Told him what ? Confusion painted itself alongside his exhaustion as he waited for some sort of explanation from Leona.
Oh. An answer that seemed to defy the laws of the world. One bound to land , the other bound to the ocean’s depths. Purple lost themselves in the green , drowning in their color and emotion. “ Leona... “ A quiet whisper , voice tender in how he said the other’s name. But before he could continue , he felt his chin being lifted further , and suddenly warmth to his face. Such was his shock that everything was still and silent. Then he was leaning into the kiss , pressing his lips back against the pirate’s as his heart hammered in his chest.
This was against every form of logic. Leona would sail off and then what ? Love heeds not the advice of the mind. No gold or treasure would compare to this feeling in his chest. “ I love you , Leona. “ He whispered , raising his hand despite how his muscles protested to brush fingers over Leona’s cheek. “ Captain Leona. “ A small emphasis , added with a faint laugh as he gazed up at Leona.

safaerax said: It had been some time since he had released Vil back into the ocean, and after hashing it out with his crew he was able to regain control and continue wreaking havoc on the seas. But now they had made port in a familiar place and the captain found himself wading through the water, reaching to his waist as he waited. He figured the chances of seeing him again would be slim, but something drew him there and he had to see if just maybe, he’d see something splash against the horizon. // I had a craving 🥺
He’d know that ship anywhere. How could he not ? He’d spent so long within it , had memorized it inside and out. Vil had never expected to see it again. Not with how Leona and his crew traveled. If Leona even survived. He’d seen many humans be slaughtered at each other’s hands over such greed.
But he knew that silhouette. And that irritating audacity mixed with stupidity. People didn’t go swimming around this area or wading out into it. Either from sharks or stories or anything of the sort. Maybe he should drown him for his arrogance. Teach that stupid pirate a lesson.
“ You have some audacity , Leona. “ Vil remarks , his head raising up from the water as his scales , once again in full color , shone in dazzling colors to reflect the sun in the ocean’s shallow water. The siren swam around him a couple times , seeming to eye him before settling in resting in front of Leona. “ You’re back. “
Admittingly that was a rather obvious remark , but it was what he had to say.

@safaerax said: ❛ i’ve brought you a gift . ❜ //leona @ siren Vil!
( YOU HAVE NO POWER OVER ME STARTERS )
There wasn’t exactly much to do when one was trapped in a tank. Outside of trying to read whatever was close enough for him to get his hands on - after drying them to not ruin the paper. That he’d known well before meeting Leona. He was learning bit by bit , helping grow familiar with human terms for concepts and items. But if not that , he had become very fascinated in the small mirror given to him. He’d never seen an in-tact one. By time they hit the ocean floor they were cracked at beast and shattered at worst. So it wasn’t abnormal to see him gazing at his reflection or checking his form in it.
That was what he happened to be doing when Leona returned this time. Sat poised with regality even while trapped , carefully checking his appearance. Thought calmer , his tongue and attitude had not dulled since the first day when he decided to be sharp .Purple eyes turned away to look towards the cabin door in acknowledgement of the other’s return. The mirror was carefully set aside before the siren swam to the surface.
“ A gift ? “ Arms folded to rest on the edge of the tank , chin placed delicately atop them. “ What is it ? “
Vil might have laughed months ago if someone said he’d look forward to a gift. He was used to such offerings. But this was different than that. This was something human. That’s the only reason he was looking forward to it. At least thats what he would tell himself.

@kiingsroar was lured by a siren ( starter call )
and if you want ambiance...
Candlelight flickered inside the closed room behind the thick captain’s door. Vil could still hear the creaking of wood and of the crew moving around here nd there , the sounds of the ocean waves and wood groaning as the ship breached large waves. A lot of the time the siren was left alone other than the few that tried to peak in now and again. ( There’d been an attempt at adding other aquatic animals - Vil had eaten them so it hadn’t been repeated outside of feeding. ) Except the captain , Leona , who’d been making it a habit every night to show up and sit close since capture.
Vil couldn’t decide if he liked the company or if it angered him more. Fingers grasped the edge of the tank , stealthily pulling his upper half out of the water and leaning over to get a glimpse at the paper with marks over it. “ Well ? Are you going to read to me ? “ Now he finally vocalized himself rather demandingly for a captive , nails tapping on the glass. “ Or is it a map ? What is that ? “ Curiosity was often what lured the siren to talking - that or snarky commentary.
