Gaara and Kankurō had been saved, and she found relief in that. With that said, Chiyo's death was hitting her hard. She owed her defeat over Sasori to her — and her master's contempt for losing. Her mission had been concluded, though her time in Sunagakure was over. She still needed to instruct their medical-nin on the antidote and work on their two villages' relationship with one another. She was drawn out of her own thoughts when she heard Baki approaching. ❝ I'm sorry that I wasn't also able to save Chiyo. ❞ Despite her words, she knew that the jutsu was sacrificial; perhaps if she had been sooner in defeating Gaara, she could have devised a way to save everyone without losing a life in the process.
She knew that the death of the other kunoichi was hitting her hard because she owed a lot to her; not only did she learn from her, but she was able to defeat a member of the Akatsuki with her assistance. She knew Suna had lost a great shinobi and an asset to their village. A sacrifice that would not go unmourned or unforgotten by the Konoha kunoichi. ❝ I am leaving behind the antidote and instructions on how to make it if there ever becomes a need for it again. ❞ It was theirs to have been the ones affected by the poison. It felt surreal to her, knowing that she would soon be departing from their village and yet getting to converse with an advisory council member.
Their respective villages had come a long way since being opposing forces to allies — and in her time here, she felt a duty to further work on fostering a last relationship between the two villages. ❝ Gaara and Kankurō will make a full recovery. If there are any lasting concerns or issues, please send for me, and I will come immediately. ❞ She stated after a moment, shifting herself to face the other. They would be leaving within the hour, but she would not depart without speaking to him first, a sign of her respect for him and his village.
❝ Thank you for trusting me with their lives and helping to defend your village. ❞ she added, feeling it necessary to show her appreciation that their trust had been placed onto her shoulders. While she still relied on the help of another, she found this mission to be beneficial in that she learned a lot about her own abilities and strength. It had been a success not only because she devised an antidote but because there was a kunoichi like Chiyo — willing to make a shinobi's greatest sacrifice, laying down one's own life for the sake of another.
