But to her understanding, he possessed powers beyond human comprehension. Fortunately, a vampire such as herself who had been around for a couple hundred years, knew very well what was beyond said comprehension. There was hardly much that phased her anymore.

Every step she took was as elegant as the last, every move coming back to her as if she were human again and performing on the stage for the hundredth time.

Lestat gave plenty of people the chance to be afraid of him; even her, a vampire that had long since been afraid of death since her own mortal one. But there was so much in her young vampiric life that she was still fearful of, still fighting to find her inner strength and move about the world in fearlessness. Lestat was right, she was shivering and she didn't even realize it. Her eyes hadn't found focus but she finally looked into his face trying to find calmness.
