Chain Chronicle: Hecceitas no Hikari: Képzeljünk el egy sorozatot ahol a gonosz démonkirály, mindent és mindenkit el akar pusztítani, de egy fiatal bátor hős és társai elindulnak hogy legyőzzék. Útközben kapcsolatokat építenek, társakra és segítőkre lelnek, majd végül megütköznek a világ megmentéséért. És képzeljük el azt hogy a próbálkozás kudarccal zárul és hőseink bukott harcosokként vonulnak vissza, miközben mindenhol elterjed és mindenen úrrá lesz a sötétség. Ebben a helyzetben találja magát Yuri, a hős. Ám még ő is megtörik és már éppen feladná, amikor egy falu megmentésekor belefut egy Aram nevű fiúba, aki valamiért manipulálni tudja a manát és ennek hála hatalmas segítségnek bizonyul a harcban. Ezért Yuri fel is kéri hogy tartson velük, hogy újra és ezúttal utoljára megpróbálják legyőzni a gonoszt. A kiindulási pont igen érdekes szituációkat eredményez, láthatjuk hogyan reagálnak a harcosok a vereségre, a nép hogy éli meg a bukás utáni időszakot, ahogy elharapódzik az erőszak a félelem és a tehetetlenség hatására, ahogy a legtöbben csak a halált várják, vagy megpróbálnak átállni csak hogy életben maradjanak. Ez és az ehhez hasonló részek emelik a sorozat színvonalát, ettől lesz kicsit sötétebb de inkább befogadhatóbb, mivel a szereplők realistán viszonyulnak a helyzethez, könnyebben lehet azonosulni a gondolkodásmódjukkal. Azonban az egyedi kezdést leszámítva sajnos itt is megtalálhatók a műfajra jellemző hibák és túlzások. Egy darkos fantasy történetben igenis nem győz le mindent a barátság, akinek meg kell halni az meghal, abból az áldozatból építkeznek később a főbb szereplők. De itt is mint megannyi más shounen anime esetében nem mentek el ebbe az irányba. A jól bevált formulát követték, ahol a csapattagok nem csak társak, hanem egyenesen családtagok és őket senki nem hagyja magukra, akkor sem amikor a sötétség elnyeli őket. Értem én hogy ez fiataloknak készült inkább, de miben más az, hogy azt bemutatják ahogy ártatlanokat mészárolnak le?
