this post is probs a little overdue but with just a few weeks left until the BIG DAY? demands on my mental energy and time are increasing exponentially. between the ongoing planning process, my bachelorette trip, meetings with vendors and family members, and keeping my actual life afloat so there's something to return to when this is over? i just don't reliably have the WRITING SPOONS to keep up with my blog as i used to.

so what does that mean ?

you might see a FLOOD of replies from me one day, then you might see nothing at all for a week. i honestly don't know what i'm going to be able to do so i don't wanna commit to a schedule. what i DO know is that i will regret it for the rest of my life if i'm not wholly present with my fiancé and our families for this MASSIVE milestone in our lives because i'm worried about queues and dash FOMO.

so yes, replies will take LONGER from me. i won't be as present on the dash. if you feel the need at this time to move on from me as a partner because of that, no hard feelings :) i'll be happy to see whoever is left when i'm back fully this JUNE in my marital bliss

hey. hi. friendly neighborhood tumblr rp veteran/old here. just a midweek reminder if you need it that it's totally cool that your activity is INCONSISTENT. sometimes you wake up and the gods have blessed you - you're cranking out reply after reply, PARAGRAPHS of gold dripping from your fingertips, you can't fucking miss. and sometimes even writing a single sentence for a treasured mutual is TOO MUCH and you spend your 'writing time' alternating between staring at the blinking cursor on your screen and bashing your head into your keyboard wondering where the hell your talent went.

they're both FINE. they're both NORMAL. they're both OKAY.

no one is getting a PAYCHECK here, no reasonable person expects your creativity to adhere to a schedule. sometimes you have it and sometimes you don't. and sometimes you don't even know which it is because you just wanna be YOU today, enjoying your life instead of channeling other voices for a story.

PLEASE check in with your mutuals just to let them know where you're at from time to time, but that simple communication? is all that's required for holding up your end of a writing relationship.

so i thought about it for a few weeks and the big picture answer is NO. i have writing relationships on here that are too important to me to just abandon and mj is too fucking loud in my head to stop cold turkey. what i am going to do though is some blog some maintenance to keep my muse and sanity in a HEALTHY and HAPPY place going forward, which includes:

º ✧ 。dropping ALL current threads and clearing out my inbox to start fresh º ✧ 。unfollowing inactive/archived blogs as well as those i just don't see myself interacting with. it's nothing personal, i'm just very overwhelmed by the SIZE of my dash at the moment and would rather keep it to just the folks i plan to write with going forward. i apologize if you'd prefer i softblock and i don't but ... i just don't have the bandwidth to go through that process right now. if you need to hard block me because of that i get it. º ✧ 。while i love big, long threads? i just don't have the spare time or mental bandwidth to juggle 30+ multi-para threads anymore. i can keep up with 1/2 paragraph replies pretty easily, but my response rate for those in the 3+ range might vary WIDELY so ... proceed with caution º ✧ 。speaking of threads - while 'slice of life' stuff is sweet and fun and important to character relationship building? threads that don't have a clear objective are frankly just incredibly DIFFICULT for me to summon muse for at the moment. so i will be limiting fluff threads to 1 per writing partner at a time º ✧ 。my queue will scale back to 2x/day and that won't always mean two replies a day. it will honestly just depend on what i have muse for and how much time i currently have to spare

as most of you know i'm getting MARRIED in may which means all the FUN STUFF is about to kick off... starting with this weekend, where i'll be on my bachelorette trip to DISNEY WORLD !

i'm not even gonna pretend like i'll be here to read the dash or reply to anything - i WON'T be. i'll be having expensive adult beverages and mickey shaped treats while standing in line for all my favorite rides with all my favorite people.

lord knows when i get home on monday i will be HORIZONTAL to recover for like, at least half a week so you'll see me later for sure. until then behave yourselves, drink your water, take your meds, and remember this is a HOBBY not a jobby and your self worth doesn't come from a hell site like tumblr.

if i've written you 3+ starters over the last few weeks/months and you've never replied to any of them? please don't request any more. i won't be writing them.

i get it, not all starters work for the people who receive them. not all muses cooperate when we want them to - sometimes they hyperfixate on certain people or threads and you just can't summon the spoons for new stuff with people you don't know as well. you can ALWAYS come to me when that happens, i'm never gonna rush you or be offended. but i put a lot of heart and soul into everything i put out for people, especially starter calls since the EXCITEMENT of people wanting to interact with me is a huge motivator ... and nothing is a bigger muse killer than getting indifferent radio silence as an answer.

you don't "owe" anyone your responses or replies, you're not a content farm but ... don't request time and time again that people pour effort into you if you don't have any intention of returning the favor
