“They’re not gonna’ catch us!” Famous last words, if ever there were any.  But Percy has always been the type to fake it ‘til you make it, and he’s not going to change that blind confidence now. He struggles not to laugh as he keeps his hands on Rachel’s hips and pulls her back slowly as they watch Chiron, Lester, Mr. D, and a few others walk past where they’d been hiding. “We’re mature adults that can do whatever we want. Like hide from deities and centaurs and all that--” He snorts. “It’s not like we did anything wrong.  And even if we did--  which we didn’t.”  He  wiggles his eyebrows. “They can prove nothing. Trust me, I used to binge watch Law and Order.”

“Ah, Rachel.” Paul’s just embraced the weird reality of life as it is now. Demigods and monsters and all sorts of things wandering around, and it’s something he really has to get used to. He still doesn’t totally understand a lot of it, but he’s trying. Percy is really his main-- and only-- connection to the world hidden behind the Mist, and as a result, the rest of Percy’s friends and loved ones that come and go bring parts of his world into clearer focus. 

It’s not unusual for other demigods to come stop by the house, but Paul’s smile is genuine as he sees it’s Rachel there. Oracle or not, she’s still a mortal like him. Her abilities are from an odd partnership with the oracle of Delphi rather than divine blood. He steps aside to let her into the house. “Come on in! Percy’s not home right now, he’s still driving back from the city. He’ll be here in an hour maybe. Do you want tea or something? I don’t know what the kids are drinking these days, considering most of my students have barely graduated from juice boxes.”
