the manias. [3/5]

[tw: stalking, obsessive behavior, mention of bodily harm, injury.]

reyhan is unconcerned with petty criminality. they are wealthy, successful, and have everything they need. but what they don't have, they want. and they crave the attention of their top 5 cerberus agents with whom they have an obsessive fixation. these agents have hurt reyhan irreparably and left a mark on their body. in turn, reyhan has left their mark as well, controlling important body parts of these agents as a result of their encounters. because the body and movement are what reyhan is interested in, they do not find interest in agents with powers that aren't activated or involve motor skills. reyhan will stop at nothing to fully control these individuals' bodies as an homage to the control these agents have on their psyche. fluctuating from friend to foe, reyhan will follow the agents to the bitter end, fixated on the movement of their bodies and how their powers will manifest as directed by puppeteer's manipulations.

1. the head. the one who started reyhan's obsession with select members of cerberus corp. the first agent to encounter reyhan during their torture spree and injured reyhan across the face. the agent left an unsightly gash, leading to reyhan's distinct scar across their cheeks and nose. by breaking reyhan free from the self-shackles of beautiful perfection, the agent kickstarted reyhan's newfound artistic principle and mania with the beauty of imperfection. reyhan carries this agent's merchandise (trading card being their favorite), follows them on social media, and will try to show up wherever the agent is, such as in fan meetings. they will even shadow when the agent is on duty. they claim to love the agent, and will express that by controlling this agent's limbs in somewhat romantic overtures. the agent is reyhan's #1 bias, and reyhan swears to make the agent fully theirs, one way or another. ( whirlpool. aka "honey/cariño." )

2. the heart. the one who reyhan burned emotionally, and they took their revenge on reyhan, the civilian... but, unfortunately, their vindictive actions do not align with cerb corp's policy. reyhan holds that incident over the agent for blackmailing, more than happy to bring up the agent's less-than-heroic past to the corporation. the thing is, reyhan says they are fond of the agent and could be convinced to drop it if the agent will give them full bodily control. but this agent knows that reyhan's favorite is the head, if not reyhan themself. so could it be a lie? whether or not this agent still has affection for reyhan is utp. this agent is the only one at this time in cerb corp who knows of puppeteer's real identity, but due to reyhan's social capital and cover as puppeteer, the agent finds it hard to prove that reyhan is the anti-hero.

3. the hand. the one who has the misfortune of being constantly at odds with puppeteer. it does not help that the agent's powers are disadvantageous against the anti-hero, and in conclusion, most of their limbs are controlled by reyhan. reyhan uses it to their advantage, finding ways to keep an eye on the agent and control their limbs to cause chaos at random. the agent, however, has one perk the other obsessions do not. by being "tied-up" and forced to listen to reyhan's wild, meandering monologues, they have slowly pieced together what makes puppeteer tick and could figure out how to manipulate the manipulator.

4. the hips. the one who actually doesn't mind puppeteer. the agent pretends they dislike the anti-hero, and reyhan also acts as if they loathe the agent, when they both know they wouldn't truly hurt the other. also, puppeteer has helped this agent out in their encounters if an interloper intrudes on their private time. both are more than fine in letting the other go after playing their strange little charade. what's that saying again? it takes two to tango? this agent is courted by reyhan at lengths to leave cerberus and join them independently in hunting down the other obsessions. reyhan has promised if they do that, they would release control of all of the agent's limbs... and isn't it more fun to be two against the world? ( ashina. aka "goddess/diosa." )

5. the heel. the one who is reyhan's worst nightmare. this agent's ability is advantageous against reyhan's own, and reyhan loathes it. this agent is the first to have countered puppeteer's power, shocking reyhan to their core. even under reyhan's control, the agent fought against it long enough to leave a bite mark on reyhan's right hand, almost severing the joint of their thumb had reyhan not forced the agent's jaw to open in time. after the humbling (for half a second, reyhan does not do humble) defeat, they have deemed this agent their nemesis. the agent is reyhan's most destructive target; instead of coyly playing with them as per the other obsessions, reyhan is violently dead-set on utterly dominating and owning this agent's body to celebrate their conquest. ( phoenix. aka "kitten/gatito." )

while famous for their craft, reyhan has also become a bit of a celebutante, synonymous with the coolest artsy scene of new york city. however, they're not alone. other young, fashionable, and trendy celebrities who are up-and-coming for their lavish parties, glitzy lifestyle, and luxe aura are now dubbed the new club kids after being seen together hanging out in popular nightspots. these muses are not part of reyhan's regular social circle and not part of their entourage, however, these muses all endeavor as a group to host the best parties nyc's nightlife has ever seen. their feelings towards one another are utp, but reyhan will position themselves in leadership roles when the new club kids get together to host events.

the tremors. [1/6]

a soloist in a dance company must be surrounded by the corps to stand out, do they not? these muses are reyhan's """friends,""" but the people around them can see them for what they are. reyhan's entourage, those who are savvy in knowing reyhan's a great connection for climbing up that social ladder, especially in reputation-obsessed new york city. however, goals can blur when ""friendships"" become a toxic game of chicken and keeping up appearances becomes more and more of a mind game. how members of this group feel about each other is utp, but all of them defer to the "queen bee," reyhan (for now).competition, cattiness, gaslighting, gatekeeping, manipulating, straight-up lying, nothing is off-limits if it means crawling up to the top. reyhan isn't immune either, even if they have fashioned themselves as the head of their crew. betrayal can only come from your ""friends,"" after all.

reyhan has always seen themselves as the top billing, and somehow, they've managed to make actual friends in the process. yes, hold the presses; this isn't fake news. whether it's someone in the know of the ~celebrity experience~, or a passion for artistic enterprise, reyhan sees themselves reflected in your muse, making reyhan stick around. surprisingly, your muse has, too. however, reyhan is unabashedly selfish. even if there's a real connection, it doesn't always mean the bonds can't become severed...but maybe some bonds can be forged stronger.oh wait no it's reyhan lmao your muse has to have the patience of a saint

aka the loser's club. after being looked down on by their fellow higher-level agents and the public, these level 3 cerberus agents have come together to create a "support" group (honestly, it's more like a hangout group) to encourage each other. their collective goals are to rise in the company's ranks, look out for one another, and celebrate the lesser-known heroics of everyday life.they also hang out at least once every two weeks for movie nights, karaoke, and general fun. keegan is the "unofficial" organizer, but there is no leader within the group.

the single level 1 agent who keegan has sworn to change their mind. although he normally doesn't let others' perception of him affect his mood, this level 1 agent is the outlier. he wants to prove himself to this individual and show that he is their equal. the level 1 agent thinks keegan is a travesty and has their own reasons as to why they do not wish keegan to rank up within the company.

a level 1 or level 2 agent who personally saved keegan's life during one of his first missions back in 2018. keegan may or may not be crushing on them. (he's so crushing on them.) he is unable to speak in their presence and often becomes a klutz around this agent. it is utp if the agent is aware of keegan's crush, and if they're flattered, amused, disgusted, etc.! keegan will not hit on or make a move on the agent, as his shyness overtakes him in their interactions. this crush hinges on keegan putting the agent on a pedestal and may evolve into a different dynamic once both parties get to know each other personally.

a primary mission partner of keegan's. their powers mesh well, and they have high success rates when teamed up. off the field, they also get along and spend lots of time together, spurring rumors that they're a couple. funnily enough, both keegan and this agent like each other but are completely oblivious that their feelings are mutual. will they, won't they? all of cerb corp is watching and placing their bets.

while keegan's power is helpful to agents to mitigate painful side effects, an eo may develop a reliance on splitter's pain suppression/transferal powers to deal with the burden of their ability's drawbacks. as a nurse practitioner, keegan feels obliged to help those who are hurting, but he feels conflicted that he might be enabling an unhealthy dependence for this person.

agent splitter is not a name on the lips of the level 1 cerberus agents, or even remembered by many. in fact, if reminded about the level 3 guy on rollerblades with a helmet and big shades, most level 1s would call keegan a clown, a fool. a parody, not a real hero. these muses may have teamed up with splitter in the past, but one thing's for sure: there's no respect before, during, and after. and why would there be for a guy who literally can't hurt anyone by himself?

dolly was inspired by gambit ( everyone going HUH ? ) but listen. she can telepathically control her cards! she could do it! no one has given her a chance yet! or seen her on the field bc she's a terrible agent! but more ... she came from the idea that i simply love in wizard builds of using something other than a spellbook as your spellbook? so the idea that she could use the characters of the tarot came from her using the tarot as her 'spellbook' and using tarot cards is a fun idea. but then i thought the powers listed on main were like things to choose from and i picked dream manip and quickly had to swerve when i realized my mistake! but her 'divine' psychic abilities allowed me to play with a character who has a fraught mental state, haha! and the first thing i decided about her was that she's bright mustard yellow! her color is yellow!

kyungseok is a rebuild of an older character i have. the power was the same ( able to summon a pink bow and shoot with deadly accuracy ) because i really enjoyed it but i never got to use it! the idea behind the original character is based around eros and essentially doesn't have a big cool power, literally just some guy who stumbles into his power ... i wanted to play with a character that can't do the big showy things like create tidal waves or turn off gravity but was still considered an incredible hero ( one of the best! even! ) ... so i tweaked some things when kat wanted a brother for miyoung and here we go! to think, kyungseok could have been a huge himbo with fat tits. i really denied you guys the best, huh? the first thing i decided about him was that he's an arrogant slut.

hadrian came from "the deepest circle in hell is reserved for betrayers and mutineers." / "you know nothing of hell." from potc + the whole able to turn into a skeleton. but really, i wanted a character that could be extremely powerful without the need of their power. hadrian ruled as much as he did just as a guy ... the skeleton is really just for spice and scaring people. his control and power comes from him just being really good at manipulating people and having fat stacks of money. the first thing i decided about him was ... bone daddy.

i just love ... dog coded characters! but also a rebuild! i had the idea of a dog-coded character in my mind since kyungseok. so i knew i wanted one ... ( denied you guys AGAIN by not making kyungseok dog-coded. damn! y'all lose! ) but his power came from an off handed mention by a friend of teleportation slowly erasing you ... and the idea of using a power that will eventually kill you! so his power came first but i also had a character that had a similar personality to hiroji now that i just mashed together. most of my characters are just new outfits for old characters, haha! the first i decided about him was dog-coded ... it's my favorite type of character and it plays so well into him having a limited time but he still throws himself into being loyal to those he loves even at the cost of his own life

inner thoughts.

talia ochoa is not someone that kyungseok finds useful. how in the world she made it to level ii, he'll never know. there were a lot of choices made by cerberus that he simply would never understand. there were many agents that kyungseok couldn't believe even made it past the application process. talia ochoa being one of them. ( along with the fact that she hung around a level iii who seemed to be about as useless as her. ) for one, she isn't a good field agent. her powers require for her to be sleeping. how is that going to help stop a heist? a transport? a hostage situation? oh, wait a second, let me just catch some shut-eye. one minute in and she'd get taken out in seconds flat. level ii seemed to be filled with agents that just simply can't do much, hm? kyungseok can't work with that. he can't have someone who has no defenses — no attack — nothing. dreams? give him a break. at least some of the level iii's have powers that can do something. and then she is simply too sensitive. if kyungseok could even get past the weakness of her abilities, he'd try to help to improve her. there was always something you can do, some way that you can be better. she seems to crumble when the conversation turns into criticism. if she can't handle one conversation with him, how is she going to handle the world? if she can walk out on the catwalk with no issue but can't listen to him when he tries to help her, he has no use for her. like, apologies that he isn't out here ogling her legs, he's trying to save the people of the city. & the people the city deserve better than talia ochoa.

BEING IN A HOSTAGE SITUATION has gifted them SUPERNATURAL WEAPONS PROFICIENCY ( ARCHERY ), though NEEDING TO CREATE HIS OWN WEAPON & ARROWS has also been noted. when they aren’t protecting the tri-state area, they are fond of (SLUTTING IT OUT) WINNING and are never seen without A GOLDEN CHAIN NECKLACE. civilians think they are BRILLIANT & CAPABLE, but some of the other agents see them as EGOTISTICAL & CONDESCENDING. cerberus corp should consider the fact that their last mission status was A COMPLETE SUCCESS when giving out the next one.

002. EXTRA ORDINARY

as the son of a rich family, you have enemies that you've never met. you've never spoken to them, you've never crossed their paths. to you, they're just a stranger. and really, to them, so are you. the difference is that know who you are. they know you're the child of someone important. someone with money.

kyungseok thought it was a shooting. a fired employee coming back to the office with a few words and a handful of lead to leave behind. by the time he put it together, the barrel of the gun was jammed in his back and a mean voice told him to walk to the window. ( in his dreams, kyungseok is chased by voices: get your father on the phone. i don't want to hurt you but i will. no one move or i shoot him where he stands. I SAID NO ONE MOVE! )

three hours and kyungseok stood there. three hours and he watched the news vans roll out, armored cars and officers all holding aim, and a hostage negotiator shouting across the street. three hours of feeling the sweat dip down his back, of feeling so weak and helpless, of just standing there as this stranger waved the gun around. if only he could reach the lamp, if only he could grab something, if only he had a weapon! if only, if only, if only.

i don't want to die! i don't want to die! i don't want to die!

something was said, something ticked him off, some fuse snapped and the gun was shoved right there up under his chin and kyungseok swore he heard the click of the hammer against the barrel. he swore he heard the gunshot. he swore he died. he swore it. ( and he has the scar to prove it. )

but in his hand was an arrow made of ... something pink stabbed deep into the chest of the armed perpetrator.

he was still alive. still gloriously, utterly alive.

[ POWER. ]

supernatural weapon proficiency ( archery ) + soul-bound weapon.

kyungseok can make a large bow out of his own 'spirit' energy. the bow is generally the size of a long bow and pink. although he could warp it to various sizes, he's mostly comfortable with the large bow. along with this, he can create arrows out of the same 'spirit' energy.

along with this, he has supernaturally accurate aiming capabilities. he can hit any target that he can see. hitting a dime, through a loop, behind his back — it doesn't matter. he'll do all three. so long as he can see it, he can hit it. please try him, he loves to show off.

[ WEAKNESS. ]

kyungseok has to maintain calm in order to keep his bow stable and solid. if he begins to get agitated, freak out, or stresses then the bow will start to deteriorate. if he is too stressed, he can't make anything at all. he practices meditation and martial arts in order to increase his abilities to be calm and handle stress but there is only so far he can push the limit.

if he is too exhausted and unable to focus, the bow will crumble.

the arrows have a limited number. once he hits the limit that he can passively create then he has to start borrowing from himself. he can convert parts of himself into energy if he needs to. for example, a particularly difficult mission required him to sacrifice his hearing in order to create an arrow. he managed to heal somewhat but he only regained partial hearing.

the more energy he expends, the more he has to sacrifice.

[ CERBERUS CORP. ]

after his powers manifested, his parents insisted he join cerberus corp. he put them off as long as he could as he learned and developed his power on his own. the actual reasoning behind kyungseok's joining is to try and repair their perception of their reputation concerning cerberus corp.

he shot up the ranks quickly. he doesn't seem particularly interested in their success, only his own.

he is really good in front of the camera and likes the attention. being a hero is truly what he was made to be. what more could he want? right?

[ CODENAME. ]

loveshot. he gets the name loveshot because the bow is pink. it was a joke when he threw out the equally joke of a name, hotshot. loveshot, unfortunately, won out in the end. ironically, hotshot is used as a shipping name between himself and agent hades.

003. HEADCANONS.

he has a strained relationship with his brother, taejoon.

he has an interest in the arts. he enjoys sculpting and modeling for artists. it never went beyond a hobby but it gives him a good tactile sense in order to connect himself and calm his emotions. he also occasionally models for artists.

film buff, he loves movies. he had the small dream in the back of his mind to become an actor. it never went beyond a dream. he particularly loves fantasy, psychological thrillers, and crime films.

a shameless flirt, he's constantly seeing how long that button can hold those pants together.

he joined cerberus in 2012 but he wasn't made a level i agent until 2015. he is considered one of their best agents due to his track record of continued success.

he practices taekwondo as a means of control and meditation for a means of calm.

while some compare him to eros, the god of love — kyungseok feels he's more akin to apollo, the god of light and a supreme archer himself. as he puts it: "eros fucked around and got stabbed by his own arrow. as if i'd do anything that stupid."

friends! — he loves to party, he's a flirt, and he likes to enjoy himself. he's akin to a god, what's better than this? too many friends, stop being nice to him.

you just left us there. kyungseok startles awake. his heart practically climbing out of his chest, slamming against his rib-cage. the edges of the nightmare still sharp, still haunting. they cut into the night, shaping a figure out of the overlapping shades in the dark. the voice was a soft darker whisper in his ear and the dripping shadows felt like fingertips, dead fingers unable to grab him, trap him, rip him to pieces. you just — you — you just left us there. he shoves back, pushing away from this — this — thing and his head smacking against the hand of another. the shade's hand? & he snatches it by the wrist before it can reach him. he's never been able to actually touch him and they have only ever show themselves in the fading delirium between waking and sleep. this one, however, is solid in his grip and he squeezes. the goal is to snap the wrist, break the bone, and — "kyungseok!" the world slowly puts itself back together and then snaps into reality with a sharp pain suddenly twisting through his own wrist. kyungseok gasps — and looks up. not a shade, not a nightmare, only seongyeol's features etched in worry. the night has still draped itself around them, the evening falling exhausted onto the couch. he hadn't meant to fall asleep, he hadn't meant to lose control. "i — i'm sorry." it's a ragged, hoarse sound. half a sob, half a gasp. the world clicks back together, piece by piece. "i'm ... i — i just ... i'm sorry. i didn't know it was you, i thought — i'm so sorry." & that shattered peace is brought back together with warm hands, solid and withstanding. seongyeol doesn't say anything as he pulls kyungseok back. a warmth seeps through those cracks, spilling through his temple, his cheek as he lets himself relax against him. kyungseok squeezes his eyes shut and turns his face into the long line of seongyeol's neck and inhales. the ghosts can't reach him here, the nightmares wobble against the heat, he's — okay, he's okay, he's okay. he does not believe it but right here, held between warm hands that press him close and refuse to let go, he almost could.

"well, there's the obvious answer. and then there's my answer." kyungseok pauses, the fist of his right hand resting against the palm of his left. in this glittery world of the abyss, it is easy to sink into an oblivion. and kyungseok finds himself looking over that edge these days, looking down and holding onto this inexplicable urge to jump. there was a specific name for it, that urge, that voice. l'appel du vide. that siren song to just — go. the only issue is ... where would he go? what would happen to him if he did? that fear keeps him from taking that leap. kyungseok has always held a level of control — always. he knew the next step to take, he knew what he needed to do next but lately? it's getting a little more difficult to know. instead, he flashes the smile that the cameras love. this isn't the time or place to be wondering such things. "the obvious answer is that i would've followed my dad into politics." & he waits for the laugh. that reeling, rocking motion as they shake their head. it's hard to picture, the pressed suit and the perfect tie and the talk about freedom, universal ideas, or something else coded into perfect little words. he could have done it. he lived, it felt like, an entire life sitting behind a desk preparing for an entire future of sitting behind a desk. he hardly recognizes that person anymore. his life before, his life after. they were two completely different people. one died and the other lived. kyungseok died — and loveshot kept going. "i don't think i would've last very long there. i might have the face for politics but i don't ... i don't do well in cramped places." he takes the pause to take a drink. here, you were served with enough alcohol to knock an eye out and he is on his third of whatever these blue drinks were. they are almost neon with how bright they seem. "and then there's my answer. if i weren't a hero, if i didn't follow my dad's dreams ... if i just went on to do what i wanted to do to — i'd probably be an artist." the reaction is another laugh and kyungseok laughs with them. an artist? really? you? i can't see it. no one did. that's why he left it at artist instead of the details. a soft, casual shrug of his shoulder, like it was something he dismissed when he was much younger. but no — he really wanted to be an artist. he would have gone into sculpting, he would have learned how to carve marble, how to etch life into something that could not move. he had books upon books of studies and sketches, hands flexing with shifting muscles to the way soft light diffuses against the ripple of cloth. and when the edges of his mind begin to curl from the nightmares, he fell back into old habits of folding and unfolding the muscles or rememorizing how the planes of the face changed with subtle light. they didn't ask to know about that. & really, they didn't ask to know the answers at all. they want a shot at him. how unlucky for them that he doesn't sleep with civilians. "but ... i'm a hero. i can't see myself as anything else. it is what i was born to do, born to be. i don't think i'd be happy doing anything else." & that practiced, political smile hides that lie.
