oof i just wish i knew the magic secret to 'liveable income' re: writing that didn't involve 'taking everything original offline and making people pay for it outright.'

because like...

i like my way of doing things. but my bank account hates it. :/

#i keep thinking like surely there's a way to just... #expand outwards #somehow #but if it requires a lot more labour i can't do it #so i kind of have to do it with what i'm writing now #or what i've written in the past #$30k a year #which is still a good #$20k below the minimum salary in australia #and is less than what people at mcdonald's get paid #i can't keep doing this #the way i'm doing it #i hate kind of thinking about the business side of things because i'd very much like to ignore it #and i'm glad i can with fanfiction and stuff #but with everything else it's like #what do i doooooo #i'm sure $30k (AUD) sounds like a lot to some people #but it's actually *not* a liveable income #there's no rent in australia you could afford with that much #and i should be aiming much higher but right now even $30k will take me #5 years to reach with the growth i'm experiencing #actually maybe 10 years :/
