After months and months of Gideon spewing the most bonkers goth pet names at Harrow, Harrow, on her deathbed, pulls out “first flower of my house.” Was she… trying to reciprocate?

Like she literally says earlier on to Gideon, “You’d better stop it with all this twilit princess garbage because I may start to like it.” I can just see the gears turning in her head. “I like it when she calls ME pet names, therefore the best way to show my affection is to also use a fancy epithet for HER” and then she shot right past “goofy teasing” and landed in “irrefutable romance” territory.

Why Nona is an unreliable narrator: She's the soul of the Earth squashed into a human Barbie doll now living in a different body and also she has no memory of any of this happening

Why Harrow is an unreliable narrator: She lobotomized herself so she wouldn't remember the most significant person in her life and gets brain hemorrhages any time she remembers. She's also schizophrenic and haunted.

Why Gideon is an unreliable narrator: She mostly pays attention to swordfighting, hot women, and Harrow and ignores the rest.

I just realized when Nona says Gideon looked like she wanted to be kissed. Because Nona can read people's body language perfectly. That literally means Gideon saw Harrow's body walk into the room and her first thought was 'I wanna kiss that bitch' and physically conveyed that to the point that Nona was like 'okay word' and went for it and for this reason I am going to lie facedown on the floor for several hours.
