queer ppl really can’t do anything fun and campy without it being used as ammo against us. see: lil nas x’s montero music video, kim petras & sam smith’s unholy.

the way people will jump ALL OVER trans women for doing literally ANYTHING. there’s a trans woman i follow on tiktok, dylan mulvaney, possibly the most inoffensive and gentle trans woman that conservatives could ever be faced with and Jesus Christ. she like. she released this song that (to be fair the song kind of sucked) was about like stereotypes of womanhood. and she’s not the first woman to release songs like this. FAR FROM IT. but terfs and random cis women are having a FIELD DAY with this song saying it’s misogynistic and proves that she’s a man. when y’all KNOW they wouldn’t be doing that if a cis woman released this song. ayesha erotica, slayyyter, aqua, all of them release music like this that’s highly popular on tiktok. but when a trans women does it you get stuff like this:

it’s actual fucking brainrot. when it’s a jokey song about her own experiences. if it were a cis woman making this song yall would be eating this up but a trans woman can’t do ONE THING that’s deemed weird without being called a predator, a caricature, a misogynist, or some other vile name.

The queer community is full of hurt people.

This can lead to a knee-jerk reaction when we hear someone else say "I am hurt". We look at them and say "shut up, you're not as hurt as me because you have X privilege".

This leads to femme afab queers being told "you can pass and hide as cishet, you're not as hurt as queer women who look queer, you're just complying with the patriarchy's ideals for beauty, you're hurting the queer community, you're anti feminist."

It leads to masc afab people, whether trans men or nonbinary or genderqueer etc, being told everything from "you're not as hurt, you can pass as a cis man" to "you have no desire to transition, you still look like a girl, shut up".

It leads to trans amab people who are nonbinary or genderqueer or agender etc, who still dress or look "masculine", being told that they are "unsafe" for queer spaces, that they don't belong at a "women and nonbinary meeting", that they are "basically just cis men trying to escape accountability".

It leads to asexuals being told "you don't even feel sexual attraction, the thing we're ostracized for! how could you possibly be oppressed? You're just straight and a prude" and aromantics being told "you're just straight and like casual sex, get over yourself" and both being told "you're just a cishet who wants to steal resources".

I have heard every single kind of queer person say "I have been harmed and ostracized by the queer community". Lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and mspec people, trans people, aroace people - every single one of us has expressed feeling ostracized by our own community.

On the plus side, this means you're not alone. Your group isn't the only one facing this. You have allies!! Other queer people who have gone through what you've gone through!

We need queer unity. We need to stop attacking each other. If you feel the urge to say "shut up, my group has been hurt MORE", go take a walk. Remember that every single one of us has been hurt.

look i don't weigh in on the transandrophobia "discourse" all that often, but denying it's existence- regardless of the name- boils down to one of two things:

1 you believe that an entire decentralized subgroup of marginalized people has somehow coordinated a mass effort to conduct a hoax, because all of them are bigoted against transfeminine people.

or

2 you acknowledge that what they're saying is true, you simply do not believe it matters

and neither of those are logical, ethically acceptable, or materially realistic.

this is why i don't engage with anti-transandrophobia people, because there is simply no point in arguing with someone who is either so deluded they believe a movement like this cropped up from 0 real world provocation and/or thinks the pain of an oppressed peoples doesn't matter. transandrophobia deniers are either not exercising their brains, or they are not exercising compassion, and i do not want to willingly give my time to people of either category. the block button is my best friend.

12 year old boys are not evil. They're children. And they're susceptible to manipulation from these fucks on the right who have sadly correctly identified that large swathes of the left will ignore and shun them. People turn to extremist factions when they feel ignored and dehumanised.

A 12 year old boy online isn't going to be able to read the nuances in your uber ironic but not really actually ironic "all white men are inherently trash" hot takes. They're going to take that at face value because they're 12 and that's what 12 year olds do. And they're going to feel angry, rejected and judged by your words. And then fucks like Andrew Tate get to swoop in and tell them that you're wrong and start the ball rolling on that indoctrination.

If you're an adult leftist and you honestly think teenage boys possess the wherewithal to purposefully follow dangerous Misogynists like Andrew Tate in order to "preserve their own privilege long term" then I'm sorry to say you're too far gone and I'd suggest logging off and actually trying to have a conversation with a kid who is vulnerable to the grooming of these uber misogynists and treat them as a human being instead of a reflection of an identity you've boxed them into.

Binders are hand wash only and I've STRUGGLED and i cannot recommend enough: get your ass an antique washboard! Get one with a textured glass board! Rub soap onto the textured part of the glass and then rub your binder against it and all sweat and soil fucking disappears!
