What a Difference...

What a difference 5 months makes. Spring has finally arrived and I've been laid off after 9 years of working at the same company...so many ways to think about it.

There are shattered chunks of sand dollars all over the gulf coast beaches. "They're not seashells, they're not rocks" Mei says, and she tries to put them all together to make a whole without actually having seen a whole one before.

The way kids and animals can see beautiful things that are invisible to the naked eye, my kid finds my mom to be someone to snuggle up to.

Dad's smiling face, so grateful he's still here. Because of his heart disease I know when he goes that it will be sudden. I'll never be ready for that.
